I went to this dentist to have a tooth pulled because I broke part of it off eating something crunchy. the dentist insisted a filling would be better. I did as he suggested. A couple days after getting the filling it started jiggling around in my mouth because it wasn't adhered properly and had become loose. I went back to get it fixed and while fixing it he broke the rest of my tooth off to the gums. I had to have oral surgery to remove the roots from my gums. Because if that I declined having that dentist do any more work on my teeth. I went to schedule my cleaning today and I had been "dismissed" as a patient for refusing his recommendations. They are rude when you try to talk to them and overall made my oral health worse. read more

I would like to add an update to this review, years later, to emphasize how dangerous this dentistry is and to warn others. I was on MA and a minor at the time of this dental care. I had trouble finding dentists that would accept this coverage. So, I ended up going to Pro Dental. After this dental work, it was confirmed that I did in fact have exposed roots from the teeth filing performed without my consent, and had to find another dentist who accepted MA to perform an emergency root canal. This one simple procedure performed without consent when I was a minor has now cost me thousands of dollars. I have had a root canal performed, the tooth started to decay, and I have now had several fillings on this tooth fail and have had to pay out of pocket for a crown to be placed in hopes that I can save what is left of this tooth. Please; please, read these reviews and go somewhere else if you are on MA. Do not make the mistake I did when I was younger and naïve. read more

Wah Wah. I called for an emergency appointment- well actually when describing my symptoms the receptionist said "oo yeah we should get you in" and I got an appointment day of which I was so thankful for. I had been experiencing excruciating pain sporadically and when eating and brushing my teeth. The doctor came in I described my pain and told him my history he took an X-ray and said "I don't see anything everything is fine" and we just stared at each other I was in disbelief (I guess thankful that nothing "is wrong" but also thinking what the heck something is totally wrong) and he said "sorry I guess I can refer you to a specialist, just get a cleaning ASAP" then they schedule me for Jan 2023 COOL. I felt dumb and as if my pain was not valid, how can you just take an X-ray and just be done not even look into it for the patient. Now I know why I never ho to the doctor or dentist. They don't care about helping you, just cashing that check. read more

Lisa is the receptionist and every time I've ever called she's always said she is going to put me on hold and then hangs up. I've had to call back almost every time I've made an appointment. She is not very professional. She doesn't have much hospitality. It's really a bummer that you have to get through her attitude just to schedule a dentist appointment. I'm only writing this for people to be prepared to deal with the receptionist not to smear this business. Because as a whole I'm sure they do a good job. They were one of the few places in the area that accept my insurance, and were able to get me in for a root canal within a week. Many other places were booked out until July or later. I had read reviews on this place and was nervous at first to come here, but I found the staff to be helpful and pleasant. The dentist himself was not overly friendly, but he was also not rude or unprofessional in any way. After all, he was there to fix my broken tooth, not be my friend. This is a terrible place, I don't believe Dr.Nasir is actually a certified doctor. if he was, he wouldn't inject a patient without informing them and giving them an incorrect diagnoses. This happened to my wife who's a nurse and understands her rights as a patient. He stated that she needs a root canal and injected her without giving her any warning, or even getting her thumps up to move forward with the procedure. When we confronted him, he said "fine you can go somehow else". Since my wife was already num, we asked for a second dentist to see her, who stated she DID NOT NEED A ROOT CANAL. Although, the staff were friendly and supportive they all understood our pain and seemed that they are always subject to his rudeness, I feel bad for them. read more

The worst dentist in town. Went in for filling in front of my tooth. Came out with a chip in the front tooth. When confronted, he said you had the chip in the tooth before I came in. That's not the fact. He took picture during the filling and not before I came to appointment. So 1 week passed. I was flossing and the part of tooth/filling came off. I called and left several voicemail but no response. I called that following Monday and was waiting long on the phone. The receptionist said that dentist wishes not to see you again since I accused him of botched work. I wanted to see what he did and fix the problem that that was created. Horrible experience. 6 year old had 2 fillings done, hurt worse after they were filled, she also could not floss after due to the fillings were not cleaned up. She also was never explained to about what they were going to do to her. Never sent her back, my 12 year old, had a root canal, she was hyperventilating, as she has bad allergies and can not breathe three her nose very well, they also did not numb her enough, she could not raise her arm to say it hurts being there arms were on hers, but she was crying while laying in the chair, he seemed to get more and more irritated as he could not hold her mouth open for that whole hour.I said something. After she was done she ran..... RAN out crying. During that visit the dentist asked his dental assist and if she was just going to sit there or do her job. I found that very rude, to say in front of us and very unprofessional. We had our last appt.there yesterday, waited over a half.our for our appt to put, finish my daughter's root canal, it does not line up correctly, so now I'm making another appt with community dental to see if that also needs to be fixed like my other child's other fillings as my 12 year old gets her expander put in on Monday and braces in a week and half. Hope this doesn't set the expander and braces back. We also had more issues, We found our family of 6 a new dentist, community dental. If you have a child, be warned and take them to community dental, my kids were starting to get terrified to go to the dentist, community dental in Maplewood has taken that fear away. They are very kind, let kids pick out a movie to watch, also have a stuffed animal with dentures and have the kids work on the animal to.show them.what they are going to do to their mouth, then get a prize, they also keep telling the kids how.Good they are doing. Complete night and day between the two places. Only good thing, they referred us to community dental as they do not put spacers in, referred us to Blaine ortho for braces and the staff, not main dentist is very very nice. read more

dr nazair and his staff are not very caring about people that have anxiety like i do about dental procedures. when i had a exam and cleaning and expressed the concern and pain about doing the test about the gap between the tooth and gums. She claimed that it was the law. After filling out paper work to send my records to other dentist and informing them that i was changing to other dentist. They continued to send voice messaging and texts saying i was over due for a checkup 6 months and over a year later. I will not return to pro dental and will never recommend them to anybody else. read more

This is the worst experience I have ever had. They charged me $116 for walking in the door. I told them I've been having a lot of pain, I can't sleep, and I can't eat. I brush my teeth twice a day and floss occasionally. They did an X-ray after being really aggressive with what they put in my mouth to take the pictures. The doctor was being so aggressive it made my gums bleed and I was whining of pain. The X-ray showed no cavities or infections. Then he proceeds to tell me I need a cleaning and that I will have to schedule that for a different day. He then walked away before I could get any words out. The nurse told me to have a good day and I was so lost for words, I just walked out. What a waste of money, no help, horrible communication, way too aggressive, and they did not help me relieve my pain or give me any answers. read more

Nazir was explicitly told not to use metal filling containing mercury, office staff informed multiple times. complaint filed with insurance company immediately after procedure due to absolutely abhorrent behavior and unprofessional conduct. Dentist office ignored explicit request, filled multiple teeth with amalgam metal fillings... This was after having a late morning appointment, being forced to wait over 2.5 hours, sent home to come back later, and still made to wait another hour! All of this work (5 teeth) took him about 15 minutes... and when he said "Ok I'm done..." I said, "dont you have to dry the teeth with the light gun?" THAT IS when he told me he had done metal fillings! I have severe metal allergies including nickel and mercury and until this moment had ZERO silver fillings and considerable repairs previously with all white composite. One tooth that is in the visibility of my smile was ground down beyond repair!! - I was told "well this one is going to need an implant now, there's not much material left", I was only informed scope of work was minor fillings. I was so scarred after this experience that its taken over two years to even gain the courage to find and trust any dentist... have had adverse health reactions to the metal in my mouth that has worsened over time, and am paying out of pocket for all of the work. Even for the first 6 months my insurer at the time would not let me "make a claim on the same teeth within 6 months", So there was nothing I could do. Nazir offered no solvency, he said he removed the metal on the teeth he could, yet my current dentist found otherwise. This man should not be in business, should not have a license, and if you go here whatsoever, you are asking for big trouble. ZERO STARS. read more

Found this place on Groupon; they had a good deal for a teeth cleaning. At my teeth cleaning, I was told I had a cavity so I came back a second time to have it filled. I wanted to know exactly how much everything cost, from silver filings to the white composite, since I do not have dental insurance and was paying out of pocket. They seemed annoyed and were very rude to me during my visit. After the cavity was filled I had slight pain that kept getting worse and worse. Finally I went back in to see if they could help. All they could tell me was that the filling was perfect so if I have pain in that exact area, it is just a coincidence and not their fault. They made me feel stupid and did not try to help me at all. i'm surprised at the bad reviews because i've had nothing but good experiences there. there was about 2-3 receptionist and when i first called for an emergency tooth situation they were so helpful. the doctor is very good at his job and will talk you through what he's going to do and what your options are and his assistant was amazing. i never thought i would have fun at a dentist i am glad to say this will be my primary place to go and where i will be taking my kiddos. read more

This isn't a totally awful place, but my last couple experiences haven't been overly pleasant, especially my last one. I went in for a small chip in my front tooth to be filled and was told within about two minutes that he didn't want to bother filling it because apparently it was too small. That doesn't make any sense. You're supposed to get it filled so it doesn't get any worse. He also mumbled something about how it was so small insurance wouldn't even cover it. Once again, that makes next to no sense to me. My visit felt extremely rushed and I wasn't given a thorough explanation or other options. It felt very sketchy, and unprofessional. I have been here twice and I was satisfied but, I am not happy that the dentist made my fillings silver. I went to another dentist and they said if you can see the tooth from the outside it should be a white filling and using silver was " old fashioned and unnecessary". That's exactly what I thought. Don't get dentures here . The dentist doesn't listen to any thing you say about the fit and didn't want to redo the dentures because he's to cheap. They don't even make the dentures them selves they send them out to be made by someone who's never seen you. Never get dentures from a dentist that doesn't make them in house my last set lasted many years the set I got at pro dental didn't fit at all right away and have caused me months of pure misery and I've lost 34 pounds because eating is so painful. When we took our foster children to see Dr. Arif Nazir because they both had severe dental issues and pain. The dr degraded the children and asked if they expected to keep their teeth. My family does not have dental insurance and needed to make a switch from our old offices because they were so much more expensive and business office became very rude, this was after going to the same office/dentist for 26 years . Pro Dental will give you a top dental experience without charging you through the roof. They don't push services or treatments if they aren't necessary. Can't beat it! Once I made a stink they attempted to hand me paperwork to sign. I refused because the paperwork had been delivered to me WITHOUT my knowledge of the work that had been performed. NOT CHEAP WORK either! The most concerning of my appointment was that the assistant did NOTHING to assist Dr. Nazir. In fact, I choked several different times! Once on tooth particles, second on silver filling, and then the worst yet, an instrument that resembled a thick needle! Only reminding me of the child who died because a tooth fell into his or her wind pipe! Not safe! An assistant is supposed to be assisting completely. She simply sat behind me on a computer. No suction readily available like standard practice. Nothing! The assistant was TERRIBLY unprofessional and had NO clue what she was arguing with me about. In fact the doctor had to voice to her that I was correct and she was incorrect. So much for her education eh? Then I found the receptionist (with a speech impediment) and the dental assistant speaking about me in front of other patients in the lobby. I am certain that crosses a line with patient privacy! I handed the paperwork to her and said that I would not sign the paperwork because I would be signing something that said I consent to or had knowledge of the work performed and the risks associated. Well I didn't know and she attempted to force me to sign. She is also terribly unprofessional and should invest in a shirt that covers her bra. She has no customer service skills. You have the right to decide a course of action you would prefer to take regardless of a doctor's recommendation. You are your only advocate! A doctor CANNOT perform work that has not been consented to. My rights were violated here and they jeopardized my safety! read more

My son had 4 cavities filled here recently. They used "silver" fillings. When I asked why, they told me it was because our insurance wouldn't cover the composite. When I spoke to our insurance I was told they cover 100% of composite fillings. He, also, had the cavities in between adjoining teeth. When the dentist filled them he put the filling over both teeth fusing them together. It is now impossible for him to floss and I'm concerned about what will happen when those baby teeth fall out at different times. When I called and spoke with Jodie to voice my concerns she told me I was lying and that never would have happened. I asked to speak to the dentist and she refused. I then asked to bring my son in to show them what they had done and she refused and informed me that as of that day they were dropping our entire family from the practice. Jodie was very rude and laughed at all of my concerns. By the way, the 4 star review below is done by this same Jodie that is also an employee of Pro Dental. Please avoid going here! The dentist does not know what he's doing. I had teeth filled too and he missed some of one of the cavities and left my teeth very rough making it hard to floss and an easy place for food to get stuck. On me they did composite with no mention of insurance issues and my son and I are on the exact same insurance. read more

I would give this Dentist zero stars if I could. I was in for a couple cavities to be filled. Dr.Nazir rushed though my procedure so fast i was done in less than 30 minutes. Being the last appointment of the day I could feel they were hurrying to get me out of there. The hygienist took out all the trashes in the building while I was laying there waiting half way through the ordeal. My mouth completely numb they push me out the door and send me home. 3 hours later when I started to feel everything in my mouth I noticed I had two cavities that had the decay removed but were NEVER filled. I had two gaping holes in my teeth and one tooth they completely shaved flat. I was in so much pain consistently taking Ibuprofen 800 and Tylenol 1000. I called the dentist (after hours) and left a voicemail stating I needed a call back and to be seen immediately in the morning. The next morning I never received a call back. My mother spend 3 hours calling other dentists to get me in on emergency to fix what this horrible place did to my teeth. I got an appointment somewhere else and they confirmed that i had two teeth without fillings, they even said "I have never seen something like this before" and brought 5 other employees in to look, all astonished. I got ahold of Pro Dental 3 hours after them opening, with there supervisor telling me "if you need you can come here and we can give you some ibuprofen" She did not understand that her Doctor, left two teeth completely open and that i didnt need ibuprofen, i needed help, hours ago". Dr Nazir is sexist, belittling, rude and the worse dentist I have ever seen. I will never recommend this dentist and he has been reported to the MN Board of Dentistry.
