I went to this barbershop because the barbershop I normally go to had too long of a wait and the main barber I go to wasn't even in. Needed a cut before I head out to California on Saturday and hoped for the best. Unfortunately, it was a bad experience that ended with police being called and me considering filing charges against the owner/barber.
It started because he messed up my hair bad. He fade my hair clearly past the part and then tried to argue with me that it was my fault because I held the top of my hair (which is quite long), which was really to show him the sides where he had not cut it enough. What barber fades past the part line...? Not even by a little but by an inch!?!? Really?!!?!
He continued to argue with me and then took the apron off me, which I was actually happy about because at that point I had to try to find another barbershop to get a cut at. I grab my coat and tells me I have to still pay, which I refused. Then I grab my jacket and start walking towards the door and he pushed me. We start yelling back and forth at each other while he tries to tell me I'm not going anywhere.
I'm not trying to get into an altercation and end up in jail so I literally tell him I'm calling the police. I needed to get out of there ASAP so I can try to find a barbershop because it was around closing time for most barbershops. He stands in front of the door way, and locks the door, which I'm actually happy about because that's now kidnapping/holding someone hostage, which is a criminal charge. I inform him he's most likely going to jail for simple assault and also kidnapping.
Four officers pull up and they all agree that they wouldn't pay for a messed up cut either --- two of them acknowledge how important their haircuts are to them. They tell me I could press charges but it really wouldn't be worth the court time and how long it would take to get me out of there (especially because I kept stressing I was trying to get to another barbershop.) I agree and the officers calmed me down, telling me I should just let it go and even one of the younger officers told me I should write a negative Yelp and Google review so nobody goes back there, which I was already going to do anyway. They saw how bad my hair was jacked up.
Avoid at all costs. There are way better barbershops in the area including Master Clips off 27. Made a mistake by not going to my normal spot and won't do it again.
