A Klein high speed step drill bit from Amazon costs $50 and you can just drill the hole out. Tomorrow morning I have a plumber coming who will do the job in about an hour. I just lost all my confidence in Cardinal. If they can't do something so simple and easy; how can I ever trust them to do something complicated and difficult? I never had this problem with them in the past. I can no longer recommend Cardinal. This morning Indian Wells Valley Plumbing showed up, drilled the hole into my sink which is thin sheet metal, and installed the air gap kit. It took them half an hour and they under charged me $130 from their original estimate of $150-$175. In less than 24 hours after I called them, the air gap is installed. They don't try to rip you off like other plumbers do. You can trust IWVP.
