These guys came in and dug out about a foot or more of the bad dirt, installed a drain and erected stone blocks for the raised bed and filled in with good quality soil and mulch. The end result looks awesome and I look forward to spending many nights in the back yard looking at how nice it is. I'm hard of hearing so I wasn't entirely sure I communicated well with them but they seemed to understand me so we went forward. Their two-person crew arrived spot on time and got right to work. Daniel, the owner, carefully reviewed the work we had asked for. I agreed, and they got right to work. I thought it would take them all day, but much to my pleasant surprise, they were done in half that time. And the work? Perfect. They did everything asked for with professionalism and well-deserved pride. The yard is now presentable (and it hasn't been for a while). We'll definitely be bringing them on for monthly maintenance so it doesn't go out of control again. Cost was very reasonable. The scope of the work we needed was never going to come cheap, and cheap wasn't our goal. We wanted the job done right and we were willing to pay a professional rate to get that level of quality. Angeles Landscape charges a very good rate and, for what you get, I doubt there are better options. We schedule between 3 to 5, they said they would call before they left. At 4:30 I called since I hadn't heard from them. With some confusion they assured me they were loading the truck and heading my way. The truck delivered the material at 5:25pm, we live less than 10 minutes away. They only delievered half of what I ordered. On 6/12/12 we went to the office and they said they knew they shorted us and would give us an additional yard but only if they could put it in our truck. We didn't want to use our truck that is why we paid extra for delievery. I am a small business owner and believe in using other small businesses. I would never use them or recommend them to anyone else. In this situation pay more and get what you ordered. I had to call Pacific Topsoil who will be delivering two more yards in order to finish.

Their bid was about half of what we'd been offered by the other companies who came out and they actually recommended doing something different with the lawn than we'd been planning on which came out to be a lot cheaper and will make the yard look better longer. I was also impressed that they tried to be considerate of our neighbors who we share a driveway with. In order to access our yard they had to park right in front of our neighbors garage, blocking them in, so they pulled out all of their equipment and then moved their truck down the hill and out of the way. They got the job done quick, were happy to answer some questions I had over the phone the next day and were just generally very easy to work with.

They parked on the side of our driveway, not to block the garage. We are renovating, so our driveway gets blocked A LOT because other companies are not paying that close of attention. When they were done, they came to the door again and gave us extra seeds in case there were any weak spots, asked if I had any questions, then they were on their way. They smiled and said have a great day. It's so nice to start the morning with pleasant people like that!
