Dec 16, 2020, Hired Mike Howard to repair structural damaged to my home caused by extensive dry rot…read moredamage. This was not a trivial job. The dry rot had compromised a main structural corner beam which supported the second story. The repair would first require building a temporary support to hold up the second story while removing the damaged support beam and replacing all of the dry rot wood. The repair process required first coordinating with a structural engineer to design a repair plan and then with the Snohomish County office to issue a repair permit. Mike was very helpful through the entire process. Mike was confident that he could perform the repair safely and within code without an engineering drawing, but suggested that the drawing would likely be required for the county to issue the permit. I decided to get the engineering drawing and Mike was right. The county flat out said that this repair required an engineering review and drawing. I told Mike I would hire him for the job, but only after I saw and understood what the repair plan entailed. Mike met with the engineer to discuss the repair job and then Mike outlined for me exactly how he would complete the repair. While listening to Mike explain the repair process it was apparent to me that he completely understood the structural design of a home. Having a contractor with this type of experience and knowledge was the only way I would go. Mike was a pleasure to work with. He answered all of my questions with integrity and no BS. I decided to take the 2 days off to watch the work performed. Mike had no issues with this. He discussed the work while it was in process and I always felt comfortable with his decisions and confidence. The work was done in accordance to the engineering drawing and the permit was signed off and closed without any issues. I hired Keith and team to remodel my master bath shower because of a water leak. Overall, I had…read moremixed feelings about my experience. Everything went well until I felt like he tried to gaslight me into believing a piece of trim they removed near the shower was bigger than it was and they weren't going to texture the area that they had mudded. It turned out to be a miscommunication between him and his drywall contractor, but the conversation didn't leave a good taste in my mouth because even with proof in pictures, he argued with me quite a bit that the area they had mudded looked like that because the trim they removed covered the whole area and they weren't going to fix it. (Attached photos for illustration) I'm happy with the tile work even though there are some imperfections with the shower fixture installs, but those can be overlooked. The caulking was terrible and didn't look like it was done by a professional. When I inspected it the first time, I let it go because I thought it wouldn't be a big deal to remove it and re-caulk it myself when we eventually had to. However, after I showered in it for the first time, it leaked because they didn't fully caulk parts of the shower door. We re-caulked the areas that they missed, but I'm probably either going to have to hire another professional to remove the existing caulk and re-caulk it eventually or have to deal with it myself after paying so much money for the remodel. We also discovered a deep gash on the shower pan after thoroughly inspecting it. While they did come back to remedy this, it felt like it took some convincing that this wasn't a factory defect before agreeing to come back and resolve it. We found out when they came back that a piece of tile was indeed dropped in that area and caused the gash. Lesson learned, don't pay unless you're really satisfied with the outcome. This review is 3 stars because they were nice enough to help me fill in a couple sections of grout that flaked away in a different part of the house that was unrelated to this project. Addition in response to owner's reply: I may be a bit confused about the trim. I assumed that if something originally part of the demo was removed, it would be replaced to match the previous look. I didn't realize I needed to specify this, but it's a lesson learned for the future. As for the shower fixtures, I distinctly remember a verbal acknowledgement that even if we bought a new shower fixture, that you wouldn't charge us anything additional to install it. I was charged for the extra parts of this additional install and happily paid that. I unfortunately did not notice that the shower fixtures were installed a bit crooked until after showering in it, but as mentioned, they are things I can live with. Nonetheless, thank you taking care of the install. In regards to the caulking, perhaps you may have misremembered that during inspection, you asked us if we had touched the caulking and we told you we did not, so your response mentioning that we touched anything during inspection is incorrect. To clarify for future readers, the photos of the caulking I uploaded with my review show the original finished work, before we made any touch-ups to address the leaking issues. As mentioned before, it was absolutely my fault for not calling out the poor job before signing off on it, but it's a lesson learned moving forward. Indeed, the remediation and renovation work of the drywall and carpet were done well, so no complaints there. Addition in response to owner's new reply: It's becoming increasingly difficult to follow your story on the caulking since it's not true. Again, I want to reiterate that during the inspection, we did not touch the caulking, and it's disappointing to see that rather than acknowledging the poor caulking job by your team, there are explanations being created to justify it. At this point, I won't be updating this review further, as it seems to be turning into more of a "he said, she said" situation. Best of luck.

I had even taken my French doors from my last house, because I wanted to create the partition using them, and Melek made my dream come true - it looks gorgeous. I called him one day, he came in and took a look, and when I told him I wanted this done as soon as possible. He said, "How's next week?" Unbelievable. From the moment he walked in, he got down to business, measured, explained, gave me options. He is the perfect combination of "craftsman meets scrappy work environment," meaning his team did not sacrifice quality or attention to detail even while having to work in my messy downtown space. He really made magic and it looks better than I could have imagined. There is a big difference between just knowing how to "build" something and also having a delicate hand and an eye for aesthetic quality and clean work - I hadn't asked for crown molding but he added it knowing what style I was going for and it looks absolutely gorgeous. As a side note, I had been especially vocal about how "sensitive" my neighbors are with noise and work around the neighborhood, and to please be careful to make as little noise as possible while some noise had to be made in drilling and sawing wood, etc. The Property Doctors team was very careful and conscious of being discreet with the noise and in the neighborhood. As other people have said, they clean and sweeps everything up at the end, bring their own trash bags, etc. Property Doctors has all the pros: they are punctual, flexible, extremely reasonably priced, humble, respectful, and overall have a great spirit and energy. I feel extremely lucky to have found Melek and his team, and now I am excited to stare at my new wall with French doors-turned-panels.

This was my first time hiring a contractor. I had previously acted as the general contractor for our other two bathrooms, and my husband and I did those remodels ourselves, so I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted--and also plenty of lessons to learn along the way! One of the biggest advantages of working with Doru was his pricing. His quote was extremely competitive compared with other contractors in the area, some of whom quoted us 2-3 times more. We did have to manage purchasing our own cabinets, tub, tile, lighting, fixtures, etc., but that gave us the flexibility to shop at our preferred stores and save money. **A couple of lessons I learned:** Make sure you have all of your materials onsite before construction starts. There were a few times we were waiting for items I had ordered, which slowed things down. Had I used some of Doru's preferred suppliers, that probably wouldn't have happened. Also, if possible, I recommend having someone home during construction. I couldn't be home because of work, but my husband was, and that worked out well. Doru was consistently on time--sometimes even early--which is rare in the construction industry. He's also incredibly versatile and was able to handle a variety of jobs himself, including light electrical work such as changing light types and wiring and installing/replacing electrical outlets. The only time he brought in an electrician was for our heated floors because they required additional breakers in our electrical panel. And by the way, **I highly recommend heated bathroom floors!** They aren't hot; they're just comfortably warm/room temperature, which means no more freezing feet first thing in the morning. The project started with demolition, which Doru completed in just **one day**. From there, he handled the framing and coordinated his regular team of skilled subcontractors. One thing I appreciated about Doru is that he genuinely wants you to be happy with the final product. He doesn't try to push his own design preferences on you. When I asked for his opinion, he would explain the pros and cons of different options, but ultimately left the decision to me. I changed my mind a couple of times during the project--including the ceiling lighting and tub surround--and even though those changes created additional work, he made the requested changes without charging us extra. His team was excellent as well. Emmanuel, his tile professional, did an incredible job and really made the bathroom come together. He also installed our cabinets and crown molding, and his attention to detail was impressive. The drywall professional was extremely fast and efficient using Quick Set 5. We did need a second trip because of some ceiling corrections, but overall the work moved along quickly. Our project took about six weeks from start to finish, although some of that time was due to delays with materials I had selected and our family vacations. Realistically, I think the actual construction could have been completed in around four weeks if everything had been onsite and we hadn't had scheduling interruptions. What really stood out to me was Doru's follow-through. He has checked in with us multiple times since the project was completed to make sure we're still happy with everything. We are! I actually made one poor choice myself when selecting our tub faucet--it takes about 20 minutes to fill our large tub. Doru even offered to come back and replace it once I find a better faucet, which says a lot about the kind of contractor he is. **If you're looking for a highly skilled, dependable contractor at a competitive price, I would absolutely recommend Eagle Remodel and Construction.** I think they're an especially great choice if you're comfortable purchasing your own tile, cabinets, fixtures, lighting, tub, etc. and want more control over your budget and selections. If you're looking for a completely hands-off experience where you walk into a showroom, select everything through the contractor, and have them handle every purchase, a larger remodeling company may be a better fit--but you'll likely pay significantly more for that convenience. For us, Eagle Remodel and Construction was absolutely the right choice. We love our new bathroom and would hire Doru again without hesitation!
