AWESOME, classy , perfectly maintained inside and outside!! Very friendly service! I found nothing that needed repair even lounge chair well in great shape!!! We only had breakfast included because we love all the great variety of the island. The breakfast buffet was the absolute best ever !!!! There were at least 150 choices! Starting with the absolute best fresh baked breads, crusty outside fluffy inside! To the awesome fresh baked pastries, all made on site!!!! I have never had the over close to this good any were else in Mexico or anime Caribbean island!!! The selection of items was astonishing !!made to order eggs omelets etc. chicken, beef items that changed daily , I can mention it all !!! Highly recommend Privilege Aluxes and will definitely return

Amazing beach, little shallow to swim in but take the road by entrance to beach club for amazing Playa Norte. The whole resort was wonderful! Very immaculate kept hounds, well decorated and impeccably clean. Bar drinks were very good and not very expensive if you go with breakfast only. All inclusive add on is $65 pp/pd and doesn't have to be for all days so if you are doing excursions for day you can skip it. The included breakfast buffet is incredible, if you can't find something you like it's your fault. Pancakes, French toast, Mexican specialty, eggs Benedict, scramble eggs, omelets made to order or any kind of egg, canapés, breads, pastry, donuts, cereal yogurt and more- every day there is something a little different and all was excellent ! If you prefer to eat dinner out, it's only half a block to main restaurant area Hildago St. all the staff was so friendly and welcoming! I am definitely staying here again!

Reading the reviews, I get it (from the 5 stars to the 1 star).... On the Island of Isla Mujeres, this spot stands out as one of the most elegant, professional spots vs many of the other places with "party on the mind". The property is kept extremely well with great amenities that get you to feel that "VIP Status". We stayed at Privilege for 2 nights as we had friends getting married nearby so it only took 5 mins to walk over. Checking in early all depends on the staff member. We arrived at Noonish and were told to hang out at the bar or the beach for about 45 mins and they would get us into the room. About an hour later when I checked back in I had a different person... they were adamant about 3 pm so I ignored them and when I asked the previous person, she had the keys ready and the bellhop had our bags (and some flowers) in hand ready to go. We did the WOW PRIVILEGE WITH PRIVATE ROOFTOP POOL and let me start by saying that the "penthouse suite" is the only way to go and truly feel relaxed with privacy. The views from the balcony are AMAZING... Literally a 270-degree view from the balcony. Privacy is great and I kid you not, we almost decided to sleep outside on the Patio Bed gazing at the stars. We took advantage of the beach club which was good. The server was prompt and got everything we needed from cocktails to snacks. The Drinks however we inconsistent and the definition of "premium" liquor clearly varies for everyone. The snacks we got were chips and guac, calamari & few other things (I must admit I was really tipsy so I ate it all :-) ) A few "let downs" for us came with the concierge service & promptness. They tell you to contact them for anything but when we did, it didn't feel like our request was a priority. They would give us another number to contact (ex... housekeeping, maintenance, or the restaurant). Our breakfast in bed never arrived so I let them know and they escorted us down to the restaurant for breakfast. They apologized and the food there was really good but I wanted to enjoy my breakfast on the patio deck & in the private patio pool. The other big miss for us was the Brazilian Night Dinner. The setup was AMAZING and very romantic, but the service didn't match. Getting a 2nd Caipirinha or getting someone to clear out the table was a challenge. If my water glass was low, they were quick to fill it up... You already know I let them know, no water... COCKTAIL PLEASE!! The takeaway, the rating is really dependent on the customer service & how they cater to the guests to ensure we have a great experience. The reason people come is for that above & beyond service. Would I return... absolutely... After staying on the top floor overlooking the island, nothing gets better. We could see our room when departing on the Ferry!!! I would definitely outline some clear expectations with the staff to make sure it's a hit.

We spent a week here and overall it was the best choice we could've made. Location = perfect Service = great Ambience = exactly what we wanted (chill/nice) My favorites : -Jose the bellboy was super nice, helpful and happy ALL the time. -Omar our housekeeper was super sweet and surprised me with birthday decorations and sweet towel animal figurines. -the hotel brought me sparkling rose and a cake for my birthday. -Daynela the manager at the spa, gave me the most amazing massage ever. When I tell you the most amazing massage I mean, I think she has some special power. It was wonderful! And all the staff at the hotel in general were very professional. This is the relaxing vacation I needed. And for the few times we needed some fun, we were just steps away from the main restaurant area" And obviously, isla mujeres beauty is impactful.

Nice garden view and to think we paid extra for this! Ugh! Don't come here!

We booked a year in advance and for an 80th birthday and arrived early and we paid extra for a garden view! Really? C'mon now! Don't com here!

The people behind the desk simply do not care at all about you! That's just it. You may as well save your money and stay elsewhere. When we first arrived, we asked them for a calendar or some information of events for the day or a sign we can look at and they said - you have to come every day to the front desk to find out. Meanwhile we found a calendar at the beach... Then we are told that we have to pay for a variety of things and luckily the bell hop cleared it up that we didn't have to pay for say the umbrella with chairs. It was our first night and it was pouring outside and unfortunately my wife forgot her hair comb. I figured this is a 5-star resort - they must be able to help. I asked them for a simple hair comb - instead they brushed me off and said go outside and look for one in the dark while it's raining. I said where do I go and are they even open (It was 8pm at night). If I was at any other hotel - not motel - they would just get us one or even charge us for one but come on... I'm not asking for the world here! Did they offer me a simple umbrella for the downpour? No because they didn't care at all. They saw me leave the hotel with no hesitation. Spent 30 min wandering the area looking for one - came back soaked with not a single apology or anything. They saw I was dripping wet - did they offer least a towel? Nope - didn't care at all. If you don't like people or care about this kind of work - why are you the face of the company - why is the company letting you be there?! I asked why they didn't offer an umbrella and their response - well you have one in your room... How was I supposed to even know that?! They saw I was unhappy and did not care at all. I asked why they didn't offer to help me anyway and they said - that's not our job. We don't have this kind of amenity. So much for being hospitable and helping me. Meanwhile they put us in prob the worst room possible where anyone can look in our room from the garden even though we were expecting ocean view. We basically have to have the blinds closed at all times. The jacuzzi is dirty as well. Their website says you can book an ocean/garden view room. What they don't tell you is that only about 6 rooms are ocean view - the rest are all garden. So, when you see ocean/garden - expect garden every time. It's not like we paid nothing to come here. This is the third most expensive hotel on the island. Also, Wi-Fi is insanely slow - barely usable. I tested 3-4MB up/down. And most things not included - unless you do their all-inclusive package - everything is nickel and dimed. They tried to apologize to us but it was so strange. The girl (alexia) that wanted to apologize called me saying that our booking included a dinner we had not utilized yet (yet never heard about this when we checked in) My wife went to go to the counter and found out that if we remove the review, they will include a dinner on the beach. I decided to give the dinner a chance. The food was disgusting- every dish but the bread. It was comically bad. Everything was not edible. Check out the photo menu and this would have cost us $170 - we didn't eat a majority and went to dinner elsewhere - least got to enjoy sunset. The dinner was primarily all liquids and mouse that were just disgusting and the lighting was so dark on the beach that you literally cannot see what you are eating - maybe that's a new experience? Lol. (We tried using our flashlights just to figure it out). We even joked with the waiter that it was all liquids and nothing good - and when dessert came out it was the weirdest dessert ever. Here is your chance for a mousse but instead it was a hard merengue with some jam on top - not good at all. I don't get who advises these chefs that people want to eat this. This was probably the worst dinner I have ever had anywhere - it was comically bad. I explained to them that the dinner was disgusting and they said - well some people love it - I guess that's one way to take feedback. This is where they gave up. Also, a review of the rooms. We stayed in two different rooms and the bed was identical. If you move even a tiny bit the whole bed shakes - it's insane. So, if either of you tosses in your sleep - good luck getting any sleep at all. I tried to explain this to Arturo the manager but he seemed amused by this - very strange. Breakfast is pretty bland and not really worth it. The eggs are ok but they don't salt them at all and if you sit outside - you don't get salt and pepper - very strange. Bread and bacon are pretty good. I recommend eating out any chance you get. The staff does not eat here nor do they understand what is good or bad because that's not their job. They are told - this is what people like.

Where to begin? This is our 4th trip in 3 years. Loved (past tense) this resort until new management/ownership took over. The service used to be impeccable, the staff was friendly, the resort was clean and there was hot water in the rooms. Now you pay more and get cold showers, dirty rooms and grounds and horribly unhappy staff. The whirlpool jacuzzi tub on our balcony that we paid extra for wouldn't get warm enough to even lay in (they used to have nice, hot water). They called someone to fix it, not fixed at all. They don't even bother to heat the hot tubs next to the pool. Dirty room service are left to sit out in the halls all day. The final straw was after being there for a week and everyone knowing who we were the server at the beach club walked up to me and my 87 year old Mother and demanded to see our wristbands. He was mad that my Mother that had just been reading and enjoying her day wasn't ordering drinks and food from him and tipping him. We already paid for the privilege of sitting on their long chairs at the beach! We aren't required to eat or drink. Not an isolated event, read their other reviews. Very sad because we really liked it at this resort. We won't be back unless it changes for the better.

It's soooooo cold in NYC and all I can think about is booking a trip to one of my favorite vacation destinations, Mexico! I came here to celebrate my birthday 2 summers ago and I can't stop raving about these shrimp tacos I ate at the beach bar. Man!! Never tasted something so delicious in all my life. This resort is in Isla Mujeres, which is about 13 kilometers off the coast of Cancun. It's about a 20 minute ferry ride and much laid back and tranquil than Cancun itself. There are no cars on the island so you can rent either a scooter or golf cart to explore, but I spent the majority of my time walking around because I didn't want to miss a beat. I did rent a golf cart. I celebrated my birthday here and the staff was amazing! Everything from my room, the food, the drinks, birthday cakes, and the off resort excursions, it was worth every penny. Visiting Chichen Itza was on my bucket list as my 1st of 7 wonders of the world. I'm glad I picked this resort because it was absolutely beautiful. The white sand & crystal clear turquoise water was like heaven on earth. It was a great way to relax and rejuvenate the soul. I did alot of the off resort excursions such as zip lining at XPLOR park which was insane. It was my first time zip lining and I'm so proud of myself for overcoming my fear of heights. I drove the quads through the Mayan jungle and explored the ancient caverns deep within the earth. It was definitely a bucket list experience. If you're celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or just want to do something special with your love one, definitely do the dinner on the beach. It was absolutely breathtaking. It was a 5 course meal and it was delicious! I even got serenaded while I ate. He sung me happy birthday in English & Spanish. I did the all inclusive package and it was worth it. Breakfast was light, refreshing, and tasty. I loved the fresh squeezed juice in the morning. Dinner was delicious. The beach bar serves up some great food. Get the fried fish!!! I had lunch on the beach and whew! Words cannot explain my excitement. The fresh coconuts and amazing drinks on the beach got me wondering, "Why am I still in New York"? It was truly a 6 star experience! Can't wait to visit again.

Just returned from 4 days at this resort. We chose the all inclusive package, it was great. The food, drinks and staff were outstanding. The rooms are spacious and very nice. The pool area is laid out well with a swim up bar and an outdoor kitchen for food. Just across the street is the private beach area with cabanas and shades beach chairs. This resort is on the north end of the island only a 10 minutes from the ferry. It is a 2 minute walk to Hidalgo Street, food, bars and vender. This easily could get 5 Stars...I just don't give 5 Stars. We will return.

My room was never cleaned during my stay and I was there for 5 days. One day, a maid came by and gave me clean towels and took my trash. That is unacceptable and disappointing. Also, some sort of construction was going on and I was awoken to it or other loud staff every morning. Again, unacceptable. The staff also seemed to take a keen interest in what was going on in my room, to the point I could hear them outside my room snooping. Special note- the manager, Alex, communicated very well, attentive to our needs and offered excellent customer service. She was impressive. The room was clean, large, with all accommodations "as advertised." We were impressed with the cleanliness of the room. It had a mini kitchen, medium sized fridge, and nice closet. Additionally, they separate you from other exclusive beach layout areas and they state that Na Balam has its own layout area but its way to the side and allegedly they say the beds are for exclusive use to the Na Balam property but no one watches the area and they public just lays around everywhere and takes over " reserved" layout beds. She personally took us to our beautiful room, introduced us to the other staff members and showed us around the beach front area. During the course of our stay we have met the owner, Ornella, the waiters Salvador, Moises, Amber, Facundo, Sofia, other members of the front desk Sandra, Zelet, other team members Anita, Fernanda they have extraordinarily reached the highest marks of costumer service and relations with the guests. The grounds are impeccable, the room (Calibri) was immaculately clean. The staff in the restaurant is extremely friendly and professional and their Covid protocol is excellent. Breakfast is included in the rate and is healthy and hearty. We also ate an excellent dinner in Barquito, the hotel's restaurant on the beach. It was convenient to charge everything to the room and the menu variety and fresh ingredients could have one eat every meal onsite. The vegetation, decor and attention to detail like raked sand makes this a special, friendly and relaxing place to stay. Please book at Hotel Mawimbi, the pandemic has taken a toll on Isla Holbox and this is a great hotel to relax and feel safe.
