We got one of the few vegetarian options: the Sesame Asian Salad. It's $14, which wasn't that bad because the salad was big. This had almonds, carrots, cucumbers, mandarin oranges, red peppers, sesame seeds, and tomatoes. Kind of sweet but not too much. This was light but filling for a salad. Tad responded via email and shared about his pending commitments and availability and then we set a timeline to touch base again closer to when we'd make concrete arrangements. When we did, he again he shared that he had a big commitment during the day but then as we talked through what I envisioned and needed, he committed to me that based on my order, he would be able to drop it off for my party, himself, if necessary. And truly, that's what he did. He dropped off the food, set it out, put out labels for all the food, etc. He was generous in every way imaginable. Oh, and the food! It was great. Everyone raved. The favorite by far was the spinach artichoke dip. Guests started looking up right away if that was something they could buy from Honest Foods directly. I also ordered smoked salmon, which was delish, and sandwiches, salads, an AMAZING fruit tray, and other dips. The presentation was fabulous, particularly of the poached salmon, with thin cucumber "scales," and the Party Trays are generously filled. The Vegetarian Antipasti Platter was piled high with various peppers, olives, beans, cheeses and other goodies. We also ordered chicken salad sandwiches on mini brioche buns that were delicious. The fruit in the Fresh Fruit Salad was fresh and juicy. We also decided to hire a server to help during the party, and were very pleased with Natalie who helped us so that we could enjoy the party ourselves. All in all, a great experience!

Everything felt accessible; communicating with Katie felt like chatting with an old friend, the recipes were as realistic as they were delicious -- meaning, we'll actually make them on a weeknight since they don't take hours to prep/use obscure ingredients -- and there was nothing stuffy or transactional about having a professional chef teach a class in our home. No doubt, Katie is as professional as they come. What's more, though, is she is a genuinely good human and a joy to be around. It was really good, the steaks were all prepared medium rare as requested and even though it was Ken's first time making chimichurri it turned out wonderfully.
