I went in with classic symptoms of pernicious anemia (severe ataxia, neuropathy in legs, hands, feet; brain fog,) and was told, literally and quote, "This is not a medical problem" because it was totally ignorant of the fact that when someone is supplementing B12 but NOT absorbing it, it will show up in the serum, with a false high B12 "result." I eventually tested intrinsic factor antibodies myself (independent lab test) and found out they were high. High intrinsic factor antibodies result is diagnostic for pernicious anemia. I now have permanent neurological damage from lack of treatment. I now inject B12, which is what the condition requires. So -- if you have a condition that can't be fixed with supplements, don't go here.

I have been coming to Naturemedica for a few years. Dr. Kam is incredibly rude and arrogant. If you…read moredo not ask many questions and are not seeing any other doctors and do not mind taking a TON of supplements, you'll be fine with them. At my last appointment, Dr. Kam got frustrated when I asked her about potential side effects of the various supplements she subscribed. She also asked questions about the other doctors who had ordered my labs, as if she was upset I was seeing other doctors as well. Dr. Kam, who in my last (and final visit, as I will not be back to see her), told me not to come back. Now, this would be understandable if I had been rude or unkind to her in any way. This was absolutely not the case. I have always always been exceptionally kind and always am to all doctors (they are prescribing treatment for my health and don't want that to go awry, so I make a special point of being extra nice). I only asked questions, not an excessive amount. She got upset at the end of the appointment and said "you are making me mad." This is so extremely unprofessional. I was so shocked. Please save your time and money and go somewhere where questions are encouraged and where you will be treated with kindness. I came to Dr. Kam after being prescribed something by another doctor (an M.D.) which made me very sick, so I am cautious of what I take. Dr. Kam knows this as she treated me afterwards. This last appointment, I came to her in an urgent health crisis and was in tears afterwards due to her complete disrespect. I saw Dr. DeVille the next day at Naturecure, asked just as many questions and was treated with the utmost respect. She always asks if there are any other questions and doesn't make me feel like I'm annoying her or there is something wrong with me for asking. Go to Dr. Lauren DeVille or any of the doctors at Blue Oak Clinic instead. A doctor should never be so rude and disrespectful to a patient, especially when they are just asking questions. Dr. Kam is not understanding or accepting of those with anxiety. So, if you have any, or are unwilling to just take supplements without first asking about potential side effects, you should go elsewhere. Seriously, just simple questions. To me, this shows that she is insecure. Doctors who are competent and secure do not mind when you want to educate yourself.

Dr DeVille was "the doctor" who diagnosed me with Lyme disease (missed by Mayo and Banner). This... after almost twelve years of "crickets," debilitating autoimmune co-infections and unprofessional comments from previous doctors (it's in your head... your labs are normal...). Dr DeVille goes above and beyond in seeking the causes, and even the effects that seem to plague many of us today. Do NOT be affraid to ask questions!! She's also a great educator in all things health. Am I cured? Lyme isn't curable, but it and its co-infections are highly manageable now. Her staff has been beefed up and are spot on with their assistance! I appreciate all that they do! ** YES people, there may be a 2-3 month wait, so ask to be put on the cancellation list! This is a private practice and is like a specialty referral so take a deep breath. Key items. Labs. Ask always if/where to get prior to. Be flexible and open to what she suggests. Ask for alternatives in pharmacies, etc. There may be upfront costs. Again, she is considered as a private provider vs conventional/traditional healthcare provider. Thereafter, the call center operative said he/she would switch me to the "party" that makes the appointment. Once again, five plus minutes of "elevator music." After 15 minutes of this rigamarole, I quit without getting the appointment. So, I am seeking another doctor whose office staff is both receptive without quizzing me for 5 minutes with intrusive, already-on-file patient's personal information after "inviting" me to soak up minutes of "elevator music" piped from Manila (apparently) before switching me to the "party" that makes appointments after I get to "enjoy" more "elevator music!"!

Her solo practice office is unusual these days and very hard to find. I, for one, am disillusioned with the growing trend of impersonal supermarket type practices with interchangeable medical providers and invisible management coordinators. It is not surprising that Dr. Miller is particular about who she accepts as a patient. It is a privilege to be accepted by her. I was referred to Dr. Miller after the retirement of my former physician and couldn't be more pleased. She did a complete physical and ordered every test necessary to complement it. The office is low key and comfortable which I like. One thing that is especially important to me is that Dr. Miller thinks out of the box. Her credentials are top rate but so are those of many others. However, nothing beats the skills of a creative internist/diagnostician who can refer to the top specialists ... but only does so if needed. For those who didn't like her I would say that it is important to find a physician who shares your values and expectations. There really isn't one size fits all.
