They're finally starting to make some updates, which may be because Tony has retired. I can usually get an appointment easily. It never takes long to get in the chair, or to get the services I need. I made the mistake of getting an appointment for a trim, and was surprised when they didn't wash my hair first and cut it dry. I've never had that happen before. You actually have to ask for a shampoo, cut and blow dry, or they will just give you a cut. Prices are great, and my trims are always done well.

But I let the stylist proceed. I wish I'd left then and there. I now have a clear line of demarcation about a quarter of an inch from my part line, and she put far too much dye along my temples and the side of my face. It colored my light facial hair so I now look like I have sideburns. I'm still laughing because at 62, we've all survived a hair disaster or two. I know she could tell I wasn't happy. After 3 1/2 hours, I had to go and she hadn't even started to blow dry/style my hair. I didn't attend the event I was supposed to go to afterwards (those sideburns aren't going anywhere anytime soon) and they knocked about $40 off. Still means I got a subpar partial highlight for about $235 bucks...in Richmond, VA...which is crazy. I'll be looking for a new place next time around and trying to keep my head down and my hair untucked and over my ears until these brown stains along the side of my face fade. Ridiculous. Update: The owner did call me, following this review. Though apologetic and mentioning repeatedly this would be used as a "learning experience", I received no offer of either any kind of refund or an amount off for future services or an offer to have anything corrected. I spoke to a work colleague, a Richmond local, and have another salon picked out for next time.

She started off asking if I wanted it way shorter than in the pictures (I am normally a 5-guard, she wanted to start with 2)., I said no, and I ended up leaving with hair much, much shorter on the sides than on the top, and with the hair left on the sides choppy and uneven. When she said she was going to clean up my facial hair and I said no, she said "You like it like that?" Bad experience all around. My wedding is in a month and I just have to hope it will grow out in time. Absolutely frustrated, angry, and sad.
