A very unique restaurant with jungle sounds and large motorized animals. The food was great and the prices reasonable.

This was a last-minute invite for me. I haven't been back since they stopped selling LoveLuvv…read moreSparkling Wines. If you know, you know. However, a friend got stood up, so I came in to fill the spot. First, I have to say this is definitely a nice little spot tucked into Homewood. It sits right in the heart of its town-ish downtown area and really completes that "where to go and meet the locals" vibe. The staff is always nice, and the drinks are always strong. Honestly, I would love to have something like this in the South Loop, but at the same time, I think part of what makes it work is exactly where it is. The main floor is comfortable and accessible, with loveseats, bar stools, and plenty of space to settle in. It falls just a hair short of having that comfortable neighborhood restaurant feel, just without the restaurant or the food. The cool part is that you can bring in food from any of the local places down the street, which fits perfectly with the whole neighborhood atmosphere. Then there's the basement speakeasy, which has an entirely different feel and is easily one of my favorite parts of the place. Overall, this is one of those places that reminds you that you don't always have to head into the city to find a great night out. It's comfortable, welcoming, has plenty of personality, and feels like it belongs exactly where it is. If you're in the south suburbs and looking for a place to grab a strong drink, meet up with friends, or just settle in and enjoy the evening, this should absolutely be on your list.

When you first walk in, there is the bar with comfy seating at the bar and lounge area. The concert was downstairs so staff guides you where to go when coming in. Concert was fantastic and pricing was excellent for all what we got that night. The mood setting is nice downstairs for a concert. I had a lemondrop from the bar which was really good. Karaoke was on a school night. A DJ controls the Karaoke selections using Karafun. There were about 8 of us there. The DJ was playing good music in between if you wanted to take the mic and sing. Our group individually sang a few songs. It would be nice to have more of an enthusiastic audience, that is what we are used to at other venues. All in all, this is a great spot. Staff is super friendly, especially the female bar attendant on the main floor. I wished they served food here but you can order food for delivery to eat inside. Thanks Copper Still!

Come on in, the vibe is right and this is the place to be…read more This couple has been married for over twenty-one years and have worked together to offer us a brand that truly embodies the perfectionists they are. The name Maxey as well as their slogan; cold drinks, good laughs and great times is synonymous with the couple's ability to be both hospitable and entertaining. After speaking with them, I learned that they have enjoyed hosting parties at their house for years. They have also generously fed family and friends during the holiday seasons. Whether or not you showed up, was your choice but all were invited. The music was always upbeat, drinks stayed cold, everyone laughed and every belly was fed. The only thing this couple would run out of was room. Very happy to see the opening of Maxey's Sports Lounge. What a beautiful establishment; every detail meticulously planned, from floor to ceiling with state of the art fixtures throughout. Drinks are excellent; great variety of house and premium liquors. There is a nice offering of fried foods to choose from; catfish filets, whole wings, fries, onion rings, mozzarella sticks and mushrooms. I had the wings; crispy outside with a seasoned crust which comes with fries and was really good. I am truly grateful for the Maxey's allowing me the opportunity to come in and spend some time with them before their grand opening. I am sure the couple anticipates booking a lot of different sporting events, parties and comedy shows that will fill up their space. Whatever you are celebrating, whatever the occasion, come on in. This is the place to be. Trust me, your experience is going to be memorable.

A lot of great cocktails to choose among. There's also some things to eat but it's usually just things that are greasy. Basically this bar has a more mature crowd. It's great if not wanting to run into those who are about to pop a cap in the ass of someone. There's also limited hours so it's harder to get in whenever. A place that really limits when to go. This makes it harder to communicate with employees about events or other things. It's about $10 for a basic cocktail. The food is pretty basic, just things from the fryer to be honest. It's about $7 for an appetizer. They have the basics like onion rings. For sure there's a lot of events. It's located on 183rd Street at Kedzie. They're closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Never heard of this place and I am beyond past any bar, lounge or club type situation but again we were invited for a birthday party and had no idea what to expect. We ordered food and drinks and were in the VIP section which had a huge tv and was streaming the game. The music was very tame and if you like that type of music very non lethal, very old school. Folks dressed normal and acted like they had sense! Plenty of parking and no issues

That means the world to me! I do look forward to my next visit. I went here Saturday with my girls, and the vibe was on point, but the service from one of the bartenders left a bad taste. I want to extend some grace because it was extremely crowded and only a few bartenders were working, so one would expect a longer wait. However, when trying to order a 2nd round of drinks after tipping 20% our requests were repeatedly dismissed while others that came behind us were being served. When we finally did get served, I didn't realize my friend had paid for my drink and I put $15 on the bar for it. Once my girl told me she had already paid for my drink, I asked the bartender for my money back. She told me I only put $10 and despite my witnesses correcting her, she took it upon herself to STEAL $5 from me. In the future, I will not request service from this particular bartender. Other than that, it was a great time, and I look forward to my next visit!

Stopped in last night and sat at the bar, was fortunate to get a spot and so pumped to eat here…read more Great happy hour menu, I had two of the HH mastitis (7 bucks each) and then I also ordered the steak tar tar for an app. Holy shit this was incredible, would go back just for this again... sooo good! I had what I thought was the best tar tar of all time in French restaurant inside the aria in Vegas but this is right up there with that, maybe better. For dinner I had the pork dish, was really good probably would get a pasta or the chicken next time. Service was very friendly! The dimly lit restaurant has such a cool atmosphere, I see why this place is so highly regarded m! Definitely recommend!

Happy hour was the best part: the drinks had good pours and felt like a solid deal, and the onion rings were very good. The sliders on the happy hour menu, though, felt overpriced for what you get--mostly bread with a small piece of chicken or burger. For the main courses, two of the four pasta dishes came out cold. We were seated outside, and it seemed like the plates may have been held while other entrees finished, so they were barely edible by the time they reached us. Service was decent, but it didn't really make up for the misses in pacing and food quality. We also expected a patio, but it was more like curbside seating at a busy intersection, with cars and traffic noise right on top of us. It was distracting and made it hard to have a conversation. Given the overall value and experience, we won't be returning.
