The Printing Press Cafe is a charming little sandwich and sweet shop in Calico Rock. The place is painted and decorated black and white theme, highlighting the architecture and exposed brick of the businesses before it. I ordered a perfectly delicious chicken salad sandwich on a croissant with a small side of sour cream potato salad. The staff were perfectly cheerful and entertaining, the woman behind the counter being the baker responsible for the assortment of cookies and a sugar-free keto brownie I'm still not convinced was sugar free it was so delicious. I'd give it 5 stars, but it was a little pricey for a place to eat everyday. If you just coming through town like I was, it's a perfect touristy spot, just a little high. I'll be back next time in town for another brownie for sure! read more

Was cute when it first opened but the décor is getting tired and old, black and white decor only goes so far for so long. Food is hit and miss, often times out of what you want to order due to short supply and mismanagement. Ordered a salad and the lettuce was brown and slimy on the edges, and by all means if you are a lover of Gyro sandwiches don't order one here, small dry bits of pieces of gyro meat that you normally throw away after cleaning up for the day, and forget the tzatziki sauce that's not worth the effort. The malts and shakes are mediocre at best, go to Between The Buns up the street for a much better shake. The sundaes are below Dairy Queen standards. And the prices are high for what you get. Save your money and eat in Mountain Home or the charming Mountain View instead. Better selection, better value, and better food read more

I went before this whole covid-19 pandemic. And I have to say, I expected little from it considering I had went by as a teenager asking for a job and was rudely denied(might I add more than once) by the owner. But I went in despite the bad experience in hopes for a good Reuben. I waited for a bit, unimpressed as we sat in silence. But once the sandwich was in front of me I was actually intrigued by how large it was. I ended up eating the whole thing before I tasted it I think. This is a great restaurant with nice clean facilities and friendly, helpful staff. Also, conveniently located smack dab in the middle of town. I'm not sure the focus should be on an icecream parlor, though. Don't come here looking for homemade scoop icecream. It's just your generic soft serve icecream which, to their credit, they use to make banana splits, fudge sundaes, coke floats and the like. Those are the types of icecream type foods you'll find here. Prices are reasonable. We had coke floats which were decent, but only partially stirred. Strawberry shake and hot fudge sundae were really good according to my family. Other folks in the restaurant ordered food, a sandwich of some sort on toasted bread that looked delicious. read more

Enjoyed a lovely lunch here today with my mother and daughter! (We almost drove right past this, because we thought it was just an ice cream parlor--but we asked a gentleman crossing the street if he could recommend any good places for lunch, and I'm glad he pointed us back in this direction!!) Lunch was delicious (pannini turkey sandwich/rheuben/BLT), and prices were great too ($8 or less). Chocolate ice cream cones topped everything off. The service was great -- they were having a bit of an issue with the software when we ordered, but it seemed like an isolated incident. We'll go back again for sure. read more
