Dane and the other technicians were highly skilled and efficient setting up a whole new furnace & AC system. They paid attention to every detail from labeling the electric panel to showing me how to change the air filter and shut down the system after completing their work. Again, they were super patient with answering all my questions before they left! This was my third install experience with Jack Hall Plumbing & Heating in the last 5 years. First was a tankless hot water heater installation shortly after I bought my home, then a whole home water filter within the last year. In addition to these 3 new installations they also moved a refrigerator water line when I replaced my refrigerator and have made routine maintenance visits to service the plumbing, heating and AC in the time we have been doing business together. Every experience I have had from the simple routine maintenance to great big projects has been top notch service, fair pricing, and a great value for high quality work. The team at Jack Hall is the best in the area. Thank you!!

My luck is something at which I've marveled my entire life…read more I found Chris through another service, because I have a clothing dryer that needed outdoor venting. Through a stone-clad wall. Not only did Chris successfully drill and chisel the required 4" hole with surgical precision, he built sheet metal ductwork from the dryer to the vent, with numerous curves (not all 90's) and made it look as if it has been there since the house was built. This doesn't even begin to do justice to the work performed. Where other artists choose watercolors, oils, or clay as their medium, Chris has chosen galvanized sheet metal as his. I would be emotionally numb if I lacked the ability to know what I was seeing; thankfully, not the case here. He even tuned up our gas furnace, so we're good for the coming heating season (here's where my luck came into play; Chris had the time to do this, as well). You may very well find larger organizations, in the same industry. You won't find any finer attention to detail and precision than Chris. I was lucky to find him, as you will be.

It pains me to write this review. But I think the lack of responsiveness and just general lack of…read morecaring is what is making me type this. Had these guys out late October to service a Geo Thermal system, all seemed fine. The tech spent a lot of time with me, she was great and knowledgeable because we had just purchased this home and knew nothing about Geo Thermal. She even serviced and explained our tankless water heater with me. Fast forward roughly 3 weeks and my wife and I wake up to a 62 degree house. We keep our thermostat at 68. Being a Saturday I was reluctant to call for service at weekend rates so I tired the Emergency Heat and the house heated up to 68. The Emergency heat in the home is a tankless Navien water heater that is pushing hot water into the Water Furnace. So we realized over that weekend in November that if you are taking a shower you loose heat, and below 30 degrees it could not maintain the temperature. I called Thermal Associates on Monday and they came out on Tuesday. Within a half hour the tech and myself realized there was a major problem with the geo thermal loop in the yard. The tech added 18 gallons of water and it was still reading low. He said you must have a pretty good leak. The solution to finding the leak was running a garden hose into the Geo Thermal loop and looking for water to bubble up from the ground. The water ran at full force for over 48 hours and nothing. I called Thermal Associates and told them very simply. Look it is the 3rd week of November, the garden hose is not working, and I pointed out that Queensbury has sandy soil and bedrock is far down and I don't think we will ever see water come up out of the ground. Also my house is cold. I have a 7 year old and a 1 year old and winter is a few weeks away. Why don't you have someone come out to the house and quote me a new Geo Thermal loop, and also quote me installing a conventional gas furnace, and central A/C. 2 days later. Adam came out. We both decided that getting a well driller out and putting a new geo thermal loop in this time of year would be difficult. Adam looked at my basement, I gave him my square footage and made it clear to quote me for a high efficiency furnace and a A/C. I made sure he had my email to send a quote and nothing.... My background is customer service. I find it completely unacceptable to not get a quote or a follow up phone call or email. Yes I checked my spam folder, and I know he had my correct email... Several of the staff at Thermal Associates were made aware that we had little to no heat depending on outside temperature. Winter is coming! I am willing to drop $10-$15,000 on a brand new HVAC system, and I don't hear from anyone nor do I even get a quote? I was not quoting other companies, I was happy to use them. Due to the lack of response and complete disregard for my families comfort and safety, after waiting a few days we had to get another company out to install a new furnace and A/C. They did it fast seeing we were not in a good situation, especially with little ones in the house. My recommendation to anyone is to avoid this company. I don't think they are what they used to be and the last thing anyone needs in this part of the country is a lack of concern from a HVAC company when someone has no heat.

We were charged $152 for a technician to come and discover that the switch was flipped. 15 minutes of work plus travel. After many discussions it was dropped to about $100. Still too much for a simple solution if you ask me, especially for a recent customer. We will not do business with them again.

Northern Heating and Air has serviced my heating system since I bought my house in 2022. Prior to…read morethat, the original owner had used them since 2013. Today when I called for service, I was advised that because I did not have a service contract, they could not service my heating system. They claimed they had sent me a letter (which I did not receive), requiring me to sign a service contract. Because they did not have me in their database as a contracted customer, they would not service my heating system, even though I would have been willing to sign a service contract and told them so. These people installed the heating system in this house, serviced it at least every two years since 2013, serviced it as recently as April, 2024, and now they say they will not do it anymore because I am not in their database. They have effectively said, sorry, your history as a customer with us counts for nothing. What a terrible business practice. Why would a customer want to establish a business relationship with a company that acts like this?

They came replaced a switch and made another appointment for a complete system maintenance. The guy who came out knew what he was doing, friendly to talk with and didn't mind showing me a couple things that I could do on my own for emergencies. His work was fast and he didn't leave a trace of dirt or debris behind. He was patient enough to wait and see if any other noises popped up and that the job was done correctly. The price for the repair and service was very competitive to other companies. If your ever in a bind and or just need your heating and or ac system serviced I would highly recommend them. They will be servicing my mothers house next week.
