After 22 plus years we needed a new furnace and central air replaced. I checked around and decided to go with Jack Hall. Let me say this...the experience with this company was more than outstanding! I had them send a tech down this past winter because my current furnace was making a funny sound trying to ignite the furnace. After a few times of it cranking up, it finally would go on. Dylan came down to check it and right off the bat he said, "man, this is an old unit". I told him at least 22 years. Well, Dylan was able to probe around and it worked for a while but said that down the road we would need to replace the furnace and air conditioner. I made an appt. with them to send someone down with just a little more experience and so they sent Tim. Tim came down and he was the one that installed my unit over 22 years ago. He was with another company at that time. He checked it out and with the help of Devon who is one of the owners came down and gave us a price so we pulled the trigger and and went for a new furnace plus central air. We were going to go for a higher price unit but my wife and I decided that our age we really don't need to go that high. Jack Hall worked with us and they just blew us away. They were so easy to work with. No high pressure sales at all. They really care about customers to make sure that they are very happy. After the job was done, (took two days) Devon the owner came back after a two week installation to inspect and wanted to make sure that we were happy with their work. We were totally, totally satisfied. They are a GREAT! company. I really can't understand the negative reviews that I have seen. Hey, these guys have been in business a very long time. They are good at what they do. We are now on their "home plan" I have them tune up the furnace in the fall and the air conditioner when spring comes in. I asked Scott for an estimate on a cleaning of my mothers 30 year old boiler in her basement...when speaking to me Scott informed me that my mother might be eligible for the Empower New York. A couple weeks later the knowledgeable technicians Josh and Tyler shower up like superheroes and installed everything in a few days. Kaitlyn was in constant communication with me an hour away as to how best serve my elderly mother with install times. I bought a heat pump from Jack Hall almost 5 years ago, August 2020. This past winter I started having problems this past winter. I have a 10 year parts, labor, compressor warranty for it. They did come but the person they sent could not diagnose the problem. They sent someone else and they thought it was dirty filters (I had just cleaned them). He got it running but within 10 minutes it quit. I called and he came back. It was diagnosed as defective control panels. He came back with the panels, got it going. He didn't charge me for the parts but did charge for labor. I called them a couple of more times. Again I was charged for labor. I checked the original contract and saw I had a 10 year labor no cost agreement. They did refund me some but not all. And I still had a nonworking unit. The last time he was here he tried something and again it didn't help. He told me to call an authorized Daikin repair place. They came and looked it over. They said they thought they knew what might be wrong but my contract was with Jack Hall, not Daikin. At this point I'm not sure what to do but I would warn anyone not to do business with Jack Hall because they will not honor a warranty. I'm unsure what to do next. I am disgusted. read more

Time and materials invoice inflated: Attempted to charge exhorbinant price for PVC; they went as far as billing for hours not worked. Our water main broke a few years ago and flooded our basement. We needed emergency services so I called them. They replaced the valve, but there was still no water pressure so something was wrong. Instead of considering the idea that the valve was not doing what it needed to do, they were going to have us start digging up our front lawn to see if there was a leak in the line. Fortunately, the town water supervisor lives on our block and stopped in to help and he solved the problem. Thank goodness for him or we would have dropped tons of money for no reason. read more

My Aunt and Uncle in there 90s needed a new sink hooked up to new construction plumbing . 1 pvc bathroom trap and 2 flex lines maybe 30.00 in parts oh yea i must mention the bead of silicone also along the wall that i removed anyway because it looked terrible. $699.00 crazy !!!! ant they have the nerve to put a senior discount of 34.00. They came over on an emergency call on Feb 12, 2020 in the evening when my tenants were smelling sewage. I called Jack Hall again because I thought it might have been something that happened with the work that they had messed up previously. The emergency guy wrote up a false report, did not fix anything, and turned off my gas and had my tenants evacuated - oh and charged me $330. I was told the job would be costly and I needed ALL of my cast-iron plumbing redone! I had a second and a third plumbing company come to confirm that this information was inaccurate, and that it was a sewer main back up. I had this fixed with rotor rooter and had national grid come out to make sure nothing was leaking. Today is the final straw which is making me report them, and that is due to the fact that I have disgruntled tenants move out and they went to jack hall for information on me and my property, which Jack Hall provided copies of and gave them my PERSONAL INFORMATION AND RECORDS to people who have been harassing me and people I have been in contact with the police about. I feel violated and disgusted with this company. read more

I would give the whole company a big fat 0 if I could... Scott Brumley and his crew are liars and a bunch of frauds, they also discriminate you if you get help from a program. They charged ged under our name almost 8,000 dollars or more and definitely not that quality of work, we had a furnace brought to us that wouldn't fit in our basement, then a small all purpose furnace put in with 68,800 actual BTUs because remember if you want to get the actual BTUs you need to times your BTUs by the efficiency that is your actual BTUs so example 80000 x 86 % efficiency= 68,800 actual BTUs my home 2700 square foot I need 115,000 BTUs in my home to heat it they gave us a 68,800 BTU furnace repairs are horrible had gaps and holes, taped parts of our furnace up and no screws. Totally refused to get under one part of my home heat excapes everywhere and most of our heat goes either under the house or in my basement. The last time I had used them they called to cancel an install of an AC unit I had paid half down and scheduled well in advance. They showed up a week later after a heat wave. I wasn't going to use them anymore but needed a simple furnace cleaning at a townhouse I owned. She looked up my old information and when I informed the office I moved the person I spoke to decided to set up another account and we scheduled 10 days out 12-2. At 1:45 my tenant who took the time from work called to let me know they weren't there. I called and JH's team knew nothing about .. well anything. Pathetic customer service. read more

I have waited a few weeks before writing this. I have contacted the owner and requested a refund, but I see that is not forthcoming. I had called jack hall when I didn't have any hot water. I have used their services before for furnace, cleaning furnace and other plumbing issues. Not always pleased with their service, cranky person just one of the problems, but never was as bad as this last call. After a few hours of working on my hot water furnace he finally said he figured out the problem. He determined the igniter was bad. He drove back to the office to get a new one and did the replacement. The cost was $750+. Within a few days, I again had no hot water. If I went down and pressed the reset I could usually get it to work. After fuming for a few weeks and talking to other people in my region, I called a different plumber. The issue was a bad heat exchanger. Because it was not properly working, other parts were also now damaged. After discussing the options, I agreed to get new furnace at this time. When I called jack hall to complain they wanted to come and check it out themselves and would only return the funds from the unnecessary work done by applying it to the cost of them putting in my new furnace. That was not going to happen! So my recourse is this BAD review and small claims court. Too bad, I think it would've easier to just do the right thing. read more

We were away 2.5 weeks in January travelling through the warmer south climate with friends only to return to a frozen DRAIN line. The house temp was set at 58 so house was warm enough. As we are fortunate enough to have an additional bathroom to use I attempted to put very hot water down the toilet, shower and jacuzzi for 2 days but to no avail. I contacted Jack Hall Plumbing regarding the matter and the ladies receiving the call were very professional. They did arrange a schedule for Friday afternoon and advised me of the $99 quote fee which I understood. I explained twice that the problem was a frozen drain line on the homes 2nd floor. Friday afternoon the plumber arrived around 2pm and was very greeting and asked what the issue was. I advised that it was a frozen drain line on the 2nd level so I showed him the bathroom where the problem existed. He looked at the room and became very negative stating he would have to remove the toilet to access the drains as he thought it was frozen incoming water lines. Did I already say I told the receptionist 2x what the issue was? I said I was fine with the toilet removal as that would be part of the resolve. IT would be part of the quote price anyway! He then gave an excuse he had no snake on the truck and would be afraid of braking one. He furthered he would have to call another truck for a snake but no idea when that would arrive. WHAT PLUMBER DOES NOT CARRY A SNAKE? He then asked yo look at the lower floor area to see where the pipes ran so I took him to both the living room and the finished basement. He said the repair would require cutting open the wallpappered wall and to heat with a hair dryer to see if it would free up. At this point I recognized he was not too eager to fix the problem on a late Friday afternoon so I told him I would first have to check if I had any wallpaper available to fix the wall later. He agreed and said he would prepare the $100 bill to see if I wanted to decide to have the work done. I received no quote but PAID the $100 to rid myself of the poor service call. The heat idea was a good idea though as I took my garage propane heater and placed it in the basement towards the wall. Within 15 minutes the drain opened up and no costly damage was made to the walls. I know next time what company not to call! read more

Out of all the window quotes we got, they had the best quality windows and the sales team was attentive to our needs/questions. We had old single paned windows that were difficult to open and now our home looks fantastic from the inside and out with the new windows. We've been using Jack Hall for heating (oil boiler) and plumbing for more than 10 years. They're always prompt, friendly and get the job done. We just used them to get a ductless A.C. in a loft room and they did a great job. We no longer have to dread unbearably hot summer nights! Run. Run as fast as you can. I called them to do a furnace inspection on my house, which is rented. My tenants set up an appointment and made sure one of them was home to greet the technician. For whatever reason, Jack Hall cancelled and rescheduled for the next day. So again, they stayed home from work and waited. Again, the appointment was cancelled and rescheduled. Finally they show up (not at the scheduled time but at another time, but at least on the right day) and tell me my furnace is on its last legs and will need to be replaced very soon. I just had it installed in 2005 brand new so I knew this wasn't true. This was after having them look at a leaky sink in my bathroom over the summer where they told me I needed a whole new sink. Huh?? Talk about milking it and trying to squeeze every dime out. I feel they are money-grubbing, untruthful, uncaring and unreliable. They will take advantage of you and rob you blind. And why make an appointment if you're just going to cancel it? We can't sit home all day waiting for you to decide you're going to show up. Do yourself a favor and find someone else. read more

So I needed a tankless hot water heater repaired, and my system tells me what is wrong, I called telling the problem to make sure they could handle, "our technicians gave lots of parts on their truck" do they have this? "I would not know that". I need the repair so let them come out knowing their is an up front visit fee. They come here tell me what is wrong, is exactly what I told them, they have to order the part. A 100 expedited part fee for something I can get next day online for $40. I need it done just order it. They expect payment in full before they have the part or even see if I am satisfied????? That's a new business model, DO NOT EVEN CALL THESE CROOKS, so after I paid them for showing up and telling what I already was aware of and got a quote of $600 for the repair, I called Somebody else that did the job for 170 from start to finish, and I was able to check the work before I paid him. read more

The last time we needed service, we knew what the problem was and told the dispatcher when we called. The tech showed up without the necessary parts, though when he checked, he agreed that the info was there. PLEASE be CAREFUL when dealing with the company Jack Hall Pluming and Heating. My mother who is single women in her fifties was in my opinion ripped off and given very poor customer service. Last year she was having a problem with her furnace. They came and fixed it charging her hundreds of dollars. In this process they replaced her main control panel. Not once did they mention it might be cover under the warranty which in fact it was. They also even after her requesting the part they replaced be returned to her never did so. So in return she is now out of $150 dollar she can never get back. But today, once again her furnace stopped working. She call up Jack Hall and told them of the problem and asked if they could send someone out to see if it was because of the part they "fixed". The women on the phone with whom she spoke to was very rude and told her after a few comments back and forth that they could make it out sometime after two. She informed them she had to be to work by then and was replied to with "well I guess that's your problem isn't". At this point my mothers house was only 50 degrees and dropping even with a space heater. So she hung up and called "One Hour Service" and not only where they their by 930 with in an hour of original phone call but called to see if parts were covered under warranty, drove to glens falls to get parts she needed and while fixing her furnace always maintained a happy positive attitude. So please be very careful when dealing with Jack Haul. This company seems to only be out for the profit not for what should be a valued customer......... ***** After placing this review in many locations my mother was contacted by the company and given an official apology. Their experience service man could not find a clog in my tub after 8,5 hrs of service and he put acid in my tub an ruined it. I now have a rusty tub and Jack Hall Plumbing would do nothing to rectify the problem. FYI, my tub did not have any issues with the finish prior to this service call. read more
