    I expect more when staying at a Marriott. The staff is mostly great but the building needs to be shut down and renovated. There is black mold in several rooms and in the vents in the hallway. It is a health hazard that needs to be addressed by the management and owners.

    This is a nice big property with 300+ rooms. The front desk was friendly and welcoming. Overall, it was an OK experience. It is a little dated and the halls and rooms show it a little bit. The gym needs a refresh and deep clean, it was quite dirty.

    Recently stayed here while touring Princeton for a night. Checkin was easy and given our Bonvoy status, we were able to enjoy the M lounge which was nice. It offered a good variety of fruit and breakfast (eggs, bacon or sausage). I also enjoyed the coffee. This was the best part of this hotel. What I will say is that Marriott, overall, regardless of brand, has really seemed to lower cleaning standards. This hotel was no different. The room felt old, dusty, and the walls were dirty. The bathroom was not my fave as there was hair on the wall in the shower...was it even cleaned? Just 1/3 roll of toilet paper on the roll. I mean, that is gross. We literally stayed one night and I had to ask for toilet paper. Beds were clean and we barely were in the room, but I was disappointed. Did not have time to view other amenities. We arrived at Princeton on a redeye, arriving super early, so I was glad they accommodated us with an early check-in so we could freshen up, which is why I didn't complain, but I think I need to start because a hotel room should feel clean. If this is Marriott's new standard, I may be giving my business to Hyatt in the future.

    Attended an event and stayed at the Princeton Marriott at Forrestal. I had an interesting time while at the hotel. Was at the Marriott for my friends' "after party" wedding celebration, which was amazingly fun, and what was super convenient was taking the elevator back to the room after the festivity. Walked into the event, guests were greeted by one of the staff, and right after, you could grab alcohol and/or their signature cocktail of the evening, which was called "Fall in Love" (knob creek and apple cider). It was an open bar, and the signature cocktails were a hit. The bartender made some nice drinks. The food was buffet-style and pretty decent. The staff were helpful while we partied the night away. The room for a night was pricey and not exactly what I expected, but it was fine. Outdated decor but matched the Princeton area.

    This hotel was home base for us while we were in town for our friend's wedding. I was instantly impressed with how beautiful it is inside the lobby area - it really gives a spa-like, zen feeling, which makes sense because they do have a spa at this location. I loved the warm wood tones, natural light, and light fixtures of the lobby area. Check in was easy and our room was conveniently located on the first floor near all the action. I did hear some people talking in the hallways but I'm not a light sleeper so it doesn't bug me. The room was clean, a little outdated but nothing awful. The views are beautiful and you feel like you're in the woods in the middle of nowhere. I found this hotel to be very peaceful. There is a hotel bar/restaurant, they offer a breakfast buffet for $27 but we didn't go for that. The bartenders were all polite but drinks weren't cheap. There is a pool, spa, fitness center, and game room at this hotel - I didn't use any of them but it's nice to have amenities.

    Excellent serene and cozy getaway! The location is nestled away in a quiet woodsy lush piece of land. Close to restaurants, retail stores, and entertainment. My husband and I left feeling refreshed and invigorated. Beautiful architecture and extremely friendly and helpful staff make this place a 5star hotel. This Marriott offers tons of amenities including a pool (5.5 ft deep and jacuzzi area), fitness room, spa, laundry room, tennis court, and many nooks and stations in the common areas great for sitting, gathering with friends, or reading within walls of windows that make the indoor/outdoor space feel integrated. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The room lacked a microwave or heating plates. The bathroom was average, a little smaller than most places I've stayed and felt a little cramped. With the sink, and toilet within 2 ft of each other. The stand up shower was ok. Not the highlight of this place. Excellent COVID-19 precautions. I observed continous cleaning of common areas, employees wearing masks, and social distances reminders through out.

    hotel is tired. Toilet broke and wouldnt flush. Room was dirty. Trash on floor. Bed comfortable. Club best part of hotel.

We stopped here due to it being close to my parents' house and wanted to stay somewhere to decompress from our long drive from FL prior to arriving in NYC. We arrived in the late evening but not super late. We had a lot of luggage to bring from the car so I started ahead with our dog and hubs grabbed a luggage cart and took the remainder to the rooms i was actually impressed with the room. I liked the layout and everything looked updated. We were starving so we decided to sit in the lobby, decide on food to get delivered, and purchase some wine and beer from the hotel market. They had a special on two bottles of wine for a very reasonable price so that's what we went with. The front desk employee was very kind, professional, and helpful. As we sat there, we were able to watch some television once done loud people left the area. I looked at the breakfast area and it was tiny. Since we ate late, we were not hungry in the morning for breakfast and skipped it. Everything seemed okay except there was a clump of hair in our toilet when we arrived in our room. Otherwise, the place looked clean. We really loved there was a Keurig machine in our room instead of those no name hotel crappy coffee machines.

If anything, this is when you step it up. That's why this stay lands at 2 stars. Yes, I had a place to sleep--but the basics weren't there. The room felt neglected. There was visible mildew on the showerhead and along the baseboards in the shower. The water pressure was weak, and getting the water hot enough to feel clean took way too much effort. There was dust--caked dust--on fixtures like the alarm unit. The ironing board had dried red residue on the cover that would absolutely transfer onto clothes if used. Amenities were inconsistent at best. I had one towel, no washcloths, and four packets of makeup remover wipes (which felt random given everything else missing). The tissue box had the classic "two tissues fluffed up on top" trick, but nothing underneath. The Keurig was there... with no coffee. The mini fridge was leaking onto the floor. Even the AC had heavy condensation, which just added to the sense that maintenance isn't keeping up. Customer service didn't help the experience. Omar, who checked me in, wasn't rude, but it felt mechanical. I mentioned that my digital check-in didn't work, and instead of any acknowledgment or attempt to address it, it was straight to "ID and credit card." He smiled, but it felt more like habit than hospitality. What stood out more was him handling a guest dispute loudly in the lobby--essentially arguing through a payment issue on the phone in full earshot of everyone. It created an awkward, uncomfortable atmosphere. What's frustrating is that the property itself doesn't seem heavily trafficked, and the general ambiance is clean and quiet. But that makes the lack of room upkeep even harder to excuse. At this point, I'm done giving 3 stars to places that are just "okay." This wasn't okay--it was below standard, especially for a Hilton-branded property like Hampton Inn Princeton. Two stars feels accurate.

We were greeted with homemade chocolate chip cookies and water carafes in our suite. The great room was very cozy and had complimentary tee, coffee, hot chocolate, and red wine. We stayed in a two room suite which had a modern bathroom with homemade soaps and fluffy towels. Everything was exceptionally clean and the sheets were very soft. However, we were in the front section of the original home and the road noise was pretty loud all night long and the feather mattresses weren't particularly comfortable. In the morning Lydia made us the most delicious breakfast. We had homemade yogurt, fresh fruit, homemade granola, toast, steel cut oats with honey butter, yummy homemade jams, delicious coffee, and a variety of fresh juices. Our meal was topped off with the richest Java truffle. We greatly enjoyed our stay and will be back again soon!

It came with fresh fruit, absolutely delicious bread with homemade jams, homemade yogurt and granola, tasty coffee, and fresh juice -- all topped off with a homemade java truffle. This was truly a 5-star dining experience that I will be dreaming of for weeks to come. We hope to be back again soon!

It was fairly easy to find & it is located next to a mall type area so there are lots of restaurants and a Starbucks next-door that you can walk to. I do like the layout of the Hyatt place rooms. They are like mini suites. So there is a couch and kind of a hot and coffee table thing where you can sit and watch TV and then there's a half wall that sort of divides the bed from the living room area. You can angle the TV to look at the sofa or look at the bed. In the corner when you first enter, there is a desk and then there is also an actual sink in the room and a refrigerator. Unfortunately, my refrigerator did not work. It wasn't that big a deal so I did not complain because I did not have time to switch rooms. I told the desk at check out. The room was quiet, shower worked well & the bed was comfortable. I would stay again. Breakfast is $11, I ate lunch next door instead.

    Yelp gets it right again…read more Three stars. * * * The Hyatt Regency is a perfectly nice place to sleep. The beds are comfortable. They have hot water. Parking is easy. My particular room had a shower that insisted on running even when I wanted to take a bath. A nuisance but not a traumatic life scarring experience. * * * The challenges of the Hyatt Regency are all on the food side. And note - the food is perfectly good. They have a decent kitchen and will serve you fine stuff. On the plus side - and hooray for them on this one - the kitchen cooks unusual things and makes them available for purchase in the various and sundries store. So if you get an urge for garlic chicken wings at 2 in the morning - you don't have to do anything stupid like room service. They have real good ones that you just buy at the store, pay for at the front desk and then zap. Eat in the lobby or your room as you wish. * * * So what I am squawking about? Squawk squawk squawk squawk squawk squawk squawk squawk. a) The hotel is in a food desert. There is absolutely nothing around the hotel. Princeton is a completely interesting food city ... And it has become more so since it became a retirement community for elderly New Yorkers who want to get out of the rat race of living in the city. You can eat like a king in Princeton. I was travelling. It was in the middle of cold spell that was unusually cold and miserable even for long standing experienced Princeton residents. Getting to the famous food would have meant two expensive Ubers for non-trivial distance while freezing my a** off. In most other college towns, the hotel where all the campus visitors stay is right in the heart of the action. I was in Siberia both for remoteness and for temperature. I did most of my eating at the hotel - hating every minute of it. b) The Hyatt like nearly every other hotel specializes in massive markups for eating on premises. They promise high quality to match the astronomic prices. I had a breakfast buffet where most of what I was eating was scrambled eggs (good but nothing special), bacon (a little worse than normal bacon) and chicken sausages (kudos on the chicken sausages.) There was lox with capers - which was a good thing. Not a terrible breakfast. But NOT worth $28 a pop. Every time I had breakfast I was feeling the money draining out of my wallet. c) I had dinner at the bar with decent sports TVS. If I wanted to do upscale experimentation - and I did - the options were extremely attractive. The prices were blanch-worthy. Okay, one of the bottles I looked at was an advanced years Whistle Pig Rye. The whole point of Whistle Pig is to make you pay enough money that you force yourself into thinking you are drinking a superior beverage. Otherwise you could not live with yourself and what you are doing. I have done Whistle Pig in lower end manifestations. The brand is meritorious. But it is NOT four times better than competing brands that are charging a fourth of the price. Add a hotel markup to that and you are looking at numbers so obscene that children should not be allowed to hear them. I limited myself to brands I could drink for less than $20 a pop. I discovered one marvelous rye, and one mediocre rye. (Angels Envy and Basel Hayden Dark respectively.) My wallet was under control drinks wise. The flatbread pizza on the other hand was playing the breakfast buffet game. Huge prices for cheap stuff. A flatbread with mortadella on it should not cost practically $30, even if the six pieces of mortadella on your pizza have real pistachios in them. Pistachio and regular mortadella go for the same price where I buy Italian goodies. So once again I was watching my wallet bleed. At least I could drown my sorrows in alcohol. * * * Yes, hotel dining is expensive. If you don't want to pay hotel prices, Don't eat in hotels. I get it. But if you are in a place where you are going to have to pay at least $30 and catch pneumonia in order to NOT pay hotel prices, That means that you are stuck-ooed no matter how you play it. * * * Simple Solution: Don't stay at the Princeton Hyatt Regency. Exception: If being out in the boonies doesn't bother you, You can make the Princeton Hyatt Regency work.

I paid extra for a Pure room. Not sure that did anything helpful. There was a large hole in large windows which allowed for freezing air to constantly draft the room, making it tricky to get the thermostat to a comfortable temperature. I brought our Alexa for white noise, yet still it was difficult to sleep, you can hear everything going on in the hallways. The next morning someone opened our door while I was in the shower, my daughter had to tell them we were still there, they didn't knock or anything. It was only 9am and check out is 12pm. I ordered room service and was shocked to see a $30 service charge on top of a delivery fee AND tip. I was more shocked that after spending over $200 for our dinner that our food arrived in cardboard boxes and to go containers. Most places I go the room service is served on plates with a cloche (domed metal covering to keep the food warm) and wheeled in on a cart. I was handed a paper bag with cardboard and to go containers. We weren't even given plates, my daughter ordered a steak served in a box. How do you cut a steak in a box. So after paying a $30 service charge, plus delivery fee, plus tip I still had to go downstairs to ask for plates while our food got cold. The food also was not that good, so for the price, had I known, I would have gone to one of the local restaurants and brought food back, there's a Ruth's Chris within walking distance. The Market is decent but expensive. The premade sandwiches are VERY dry. I would not recommend. The pool was nice to have, but could use a good cleaning and to be heated a bit more. It connects to the outdoor pool whoch is closed but there still is a draft, and a gap that a towel is somehow wedged between soaking wet to prevent a draft? Breakfast was interesting, the servers was wonderful, however the eggs benedict was odd. The eggs were overcooked and instead of what I normally see as a thin slice of Canadian Bacon, it was 2 huge slabs of ham. The gym was adequate, but overall the hotel could use updating and the food was disappointing, especially since we do enjoy room service when staying at a hotel.

The "bad" for me was that the beds weren't that comfortable and because it was 3 of us, sharing a double made it even less comfortable. Part of it is totally my fault (or my parents). I'm 6'4" 270 (ok, I take full responsibility for the 270) but I was hanging off the bed. My height played a negative part in the fitness center. I couldn't use it. I was too tall. There wasn't enough room to put my hands over my head.

I have been to the Nassau Inn previously, but never on the second level where this event was held. The second level has its own bar, and seating both inside of the dining rooms as well as near the bar in the form of chairs and couches. There is also access to an outdoor patio, with more seating, and views of the surrounding areas to take in. Very much enjoyed getting to hang out in this space, and use both the indoor and outdoor areas. The banquet room was set up well - it was not too crowded and felt like there was plenty of room to not sit and socialize. The buffet line was set up in its own room, which helped with the spacing of it all. I enjoyed the food served at the event. The buffet was accessible from both sides, so the line moved quickly. All of the items were good, but I enjoyed the salmon especially. This event sold drink tickets, and those could be redeemed at the bar right outside of the banquet rooms. The bartender was friendly and receptive to any requests. She was the only one, but there was never a long line. We were able to play some media during the event on a projector, and use the equipment on the premise. It all worked well and we had no issue. I am not sure if it is just because it was graduation weekend, or if the pricing is always the same, but it is somewhat pricy to host a banquet at this spot. It was nice, especially for a celebration such as graduation, but definitely a once-in-a-while event for most average folks as opposed to a regular spot. Enjoyed getting to enjoy a new area of the historic place in Princeton on this visit! I would recommend it if you are looking for an event space in the Princeton area! NOTE: This is an overall note of this area of Princeton, but parking is somewhat hard to come by. There is some street parking, but it is more reliable to park in a garage and make the short walk over to the Nassau Inn.

It just seems like it had operated for so long as a monopoly that it doesn't know how to upgrade now that there is higher end competition in town. Rooms are perfectly adequate. Individual HVAC units below the window reminiscent of a motel that, at least in my case, we were sufficiently badly maintained that the noise of it turning on woke me up every time. The place is massively convenient and steeped in tradition and history... But don't expect anything special. The reviews definitely show it needs to step up its game, and further show that it apparently has chosen not to.
