Let me start by saying I'm an air BNB girl, but we were visiting family and wanted to stay as close as possible to them. My husband and I are very picky with where we stay and we were both pleasantly surprised with our stay at this hotel. Check in was smooth, we walked into our TV having my name on it and a welcome bag . We stayed in a king suite and The room was magnificent, perfect for 2 people. The bed was so comfortable , they had these black out curtains that worked so well we slept in until we woke up on our own and we thought is was like 5am, but it was 10am!! AC worked perfectly, the shower pressure was amazing , they even had shampoo etc (which I never use because I'm iffy about it) but this place was so damn clean I tried them all and they were all great . They also had breakfast included , we figured bagels and coffee , but no.. it was a full on breakfast and everything was great (waffle maker , omelets, sausages, potato fries & more) & lastly the staff was always friendly , we had 1 issue with our fridge and they sent someone up to fix it immediately . Next time we come to Jersey we will for sure be staying again, we loved everything about this stay .

Awful.Awful.Awful. The whole place smells like perfumed mildew. The rooms are not clean, the ac unit appears to be hanging by a thread. Do you want ice? Good luck if you are on floors 2 or 3 the only operational one is on the first floor. Which by the way, you have to take the stairs to the first floor because the elevator has been out of service for 2 days. Want to take a shower? Hope you like it cold because someone set the hot water tank to barely hot so you will not get a hot shower. But don't worry, when you use the chat feature they push so much to inquire they just tell you to call an 800 number. That makes sense, call an 800 number for a local issue. The digital key? Works 50% of the time. Laundry? Hope you aren't on an extended stay because you get to share 1 washer and 1 dryer with 300 other people (so much fun but bring cash for quarters because they are not the Apple Pay ones found in decent Hilton properties.) If you are hoping because it says Princeton in this name that it is a decent hotel, I cannot stress enough to avoid. There are plenty up and down this street I wish I chose instead.

I'm guessing this is either a new or refurbished property. The entire hotel was new and clean. Why 4 stars? Great beds, horrible pillows, I hate mushy pillows. Staff seemed a bit inexperienced. Free breakfast was decent, coffee good. Almost forgot, right before checkout, there was a fire in the kitchen. We had to stand outside in the rain for 30 minutes before fire dept. allowed to gather in the lobby. All in all, a very good property and we would definitely consider staying at the Hampton Inn the next time we're in town.

Our room rate was $132, which was a pretty good rate considering what the many competitors charge in and around the area. The location was excellent- just about 10-15 minutes from the University and the bustling shopping/dining district of downtown Princeton. The hotel staff we interacted with were all friendly and professional, but I have to say a few words about the front desk. They were all wonderful, smiling and friendly and totally personable. Our room was pretty big with a sofa, a nice work station desk, great TV system, faultless bathroom, and tons of outlets to power up your devices. Hampton Inns gave you an included Breakfast, and ours was pretty good with lots of healthy choices like cereal, yogurt, fruit, and turkey sausage patties. Add those to the waffles, home fries, cheese omeletes, breads and cakes and you can get a pretty decent start to your day. What I didn't expect was the free "dinners" served in the same location. What I really really didn't expect was wine and two varieties of draft beer (Heineken or Newcastle) flowing at dinner time. There was also lemon chicken, ravioli, salad, cheese, and crudités to accompany your alcohol. Thanks for a terrific stay.

We were greeted with homemade chocolate chip cookies and water carafes in our suite. The great room was very cozy and had complimentary tee, coffee, hot chocolate, and red wine. We stayed in a two room suite which had a modern bathroom with homemade soaps and fluffy towels. Everything was exceptionally clean and the sheets were very soft. However, we were in the front section of the original home and the road noise was pretty loud all night long and the feather mattresses weren't particularly comfortable. In the morning Lydia made us the most delicious breakfast. We had homemade yogurt, fresh fruit, homemade granola, toast, steel cut oats with honey butter, yummy homemade jams, delicious coffee, and a variety of fresh juices. Our meal was topped off with the richest Java truffle. We greatly enjoyed our stay and will be back again soon!

During a very difficult time for my family, as we traveled to New Jersey for a bereavement two weeks ago, Lori went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and stress-free. Her kindness, compassion, and professionalism gave us a little peace of mind when we truly needed it most. I'd also like to recognize the general manager and the wonderful staff for their outstanding hospitality. Everyone made us feel welcome and genuinely cared for. Although this was our last trip to the Northeast to say goodbye to my final remaining relative there, we'll definitely return to this hotel in the future just for pleasure. Lori turned what began as a heartbreaking experience into one that was filled with comfort and genuine kindness. Thank you again for everything. I chose this hotel based on my last stay, the good price for two nights as a Hyatt member, and the fact that it's located in a shopping area that has restaurants and Starbucks, etc., as well as shopping within walking distance. There's also a nice sidewalk surrounding the whole area and you can take a walk in the morning. I was surprised that the last two recent reviews of this hotel were so bad because the impression those reviews gave while those people might have had a bad experience really does not describe the hotel in my opinion. It is true that this property is a little bit older so there definitely are some things in the rooms that could use spruced up. However, the rooms are large and suite sized. My AC worked fine. there is plenty of counter space & the sink & counter area are outside of the space where the shower and toilet are located. The toilet flushed fine. Shower was hot & large (walk in flat with no tub). Plenty of towels. The TV is a smart TV so you can stream. I did not & just watched HBO & regular cable. There is a bar area with a fridge & small sink & counter space for foods/beverages . Ice is only on floors 3 & 5 though. I was on 4. A desk & chair. A large couch seating area with ottoman on wheels. My room was away from elevator & quiet. It is true from the other reviews that there is only one elevator because the other elevator is broken. So the elevator can be slow and busy times and I therefore took the stairs because the hotel only has five floor floors. I realize that that's not possible if you are physically unable to do that. The lobby is nice and what I appreciated is that they had a large carafe of lemon water and a large carafe of orange water that they refilled daily. There was always someone cleaning the lobby floors as well. It was spotless. There are grab & go snacks. I did not partake of the breakfast food area so I can't comment on that. Parking is free & easy. Desk staff were friendly upon my check in. I checked out easily on app. I had also requested an early check-in and that was accommodated. I would stay again. I recommend Tommy's Tavern + Tap next door with large menu & good happy hour specials. Bonus-Wegman's supermarket is 5 min down the road.

Also because the place is so small we got sat in these gorgeous huge reader chairs and this tini-tiny coffee table as our table for dinner. This created a super annoying balance as our food and drinks arrived. Because it was our anniversary we were making the best of it. We got delicious cocktails that had guava and made to perfection. Then we got the crab and lobster dip that was good, but not great. It was a small portion, but it brought the most delicious overseasoned old bay chips. I just wish the dip wasn't encrusted into it's tiny bowl with cheese so you could taste the crab a bit more. Thankfully the main course more than made up for the dip! We ordered the porcini encrusted chicken that came with mushrooms and asparagus. Holy moly this might be the best chicken I haven't ever eaten in my life. The gravy, the mushrooms, the tenderness of the chicken was truly magical. I wish they would give you at least some small potatoes or a little bit of mash for $24, but no. Overall the experience was good, the server rarely came to our table so we never got to order a second drink before our dinner even finished. And thankfully nothing fell off the tiny table the entire meal!

Actually, it wasn't just the breakfast that I would give high ratings to, the staff was super pleasant and helpful and it didn't seem like they were going out of their way to be helpful, it seemed genuine. The "bad" for me was that the beds weren't that comfortable and because it was 3 of us, sharing a double made it even less comfortable. Part of it is totally my fault (or my parents). I'm 6'4" 270 (ok, I take full responsibility for the 270) but I was hanging off the bed. My height played a negative part in the fitness center. I couldn't use it. I was too tall. There wasn't enough room to put my hands over my head.

I paid extra for a Pure room. Not sure that did anything helpful. There was a large hole in large windows which allowed for freezing air to constantly draft the room, making it tricky to get the thermostat to a comfortable temperature. I brought our Alexa for white noise, yet still it was difficult to sleep, you can hear everything going on in the hallways. The next morning someone opened our door while I was in the shower, my daughter had to tell them we were still there, they didn't knock or anything. It was only 9am and check out is 12pm. I ordered room service and was shocked to see a $30 service charge on top of a delivery fee AND tip. I was more shocked that after spending over $200 for our dinner that our food arrived in cardboard boxes and to go containers. Most places I go the room service is served on plates with a cloche (domed metal covering to keep the food warm) and wheeled in on a cart. I was handed a paper bag with cardboard and to go containers. We weren't even given plates, my daughter ordered a steak served in a box. How do you cut a steak in a box. So after paying a $30 service charge, plus delivery fee, plus tip I still had to go downstairs to ask for plates while our food got cold. The food also was not that good, so for the price, had I known, I would have gone to one of the local restaurants and brought food back, there's a Ruth's Chris within walking distance. The Market is decent but expensive. The premade sandwiches are VERY dry. I would not recommend. The pool was nice to have, but could use a good cleaning and to be heated a bit more. It connects to the outdoor pool whoch is closed but there still is a draft, and a gap that a towel is somehow wedged between soaking wet to prevent a draft? Breakfast was interesting, the servers was wonderful, however the eggs benedict was odd. The eggs were overcooked and instead of what I normally see as a thin slice of Canadian Bacon, it was 2 huge slabs of ham. The gym was adequate, but overall the hotel could use updating and the food was disappointing, especially since we do enjoy room service when staying at a hotel.

Upon entering every room for a stay, I always sanitize everything (major surface areas aka tables, counter surfaces, remote, light switches, toilet seat) I found the room was very clean, only the kitchen sink area was not very clean. I also found a piece of hair on the toilet seat, and when I pulled the blankets back, I found an eyelash and a hair. I had my spouse check it with a black light and it was a new sheet so I was ok. (In GA I had a room where the sheets were not changed *puke) There was not much dust at all so I'd say it's fairly clean. Based on the two hairs and one eyelash, it's not the end of the world. There was also hair on the shower walls but not too much. I shed a lot of hair myself. I hope housekeeping will be more meticulous with the cleaning of the hairs. I do not like that I can hear upstairs stomping away. My upstairs is a heavy walker. I was really enjoying my room until 9pm when my upstairs came back to their room. If I stay again I must must mus request a 4th floor because this is stressing me out. Then I noticed hair stuck to the towels. I called the front desk for new towels but after half an hour I called again and asked if I could just come down and get it myself. I went down to the front desk and the guy gave me towels.... And there was clearly hair stuck to the new towels also. I told him that's why I needed new towels, bc of the hair on the towels. So something is up with their washing machines because there's hair in the threads of my towels. Sigh. Breakfast was til 10am and we enjoyed the food they served. It was good enough that we didn't have to go out and get brunch elsewhere. The female staff in the building are nice, the males not so much, not very friendly. Parking is fairly easy, there's so much parking... the building has like an east wing and a west wing, with the lobby in the middle. Reminded me of east penitentiary. It's a long walk to the lobby, and we had one elevator on my side of the building for the four floors. I had room 221. Would I stay here again? Definitely! My husband loved how spacious the rooms were compared to the other 7 hotels we tried in Princeton. We always go to Sesame Street and so far this is one of our favorites because there's so much space.
