The community center seemed alive and full of people engaging in fun activities. It even had a gym for people to play games and do sports. I came there to return library books for the closed Kingstowne Library. I liked how quiet the library was and how helpful the staff was in assisting me. This is the closest public library near me and the most exciting library I have encountered in this area.

Our holds are always ready to go in a timely manner. They have great displays and lots of activities for little kids. They always have a scavenger hunt and a directed drawing station. There were magnetic busy boards, busy games, wall games, magnetic dominos, puppets, magnetic people mix and match, and the books! While here, I noticed people of all ages, ethnicities and abilities enjoying the services of the library. It was very clean and I was impressed with the spread of variety of things for different groups. There were DnD groups renting out rooms, coders, puzzlers, arts and crafters, and much more. When we moved out of the area (down the street, basically), I took my 2 yr old there for the first time for toddler storytime- we have been to other locations and loved it. Before storytime started and all of the kids were playing with puzzles and toys provided by the library, Ms. Lynne Casey walked directly up to my son and I (who were in the back) and said "Those toys need to be put away. Now. It's storytime." This comment seemed overly directed to just us so I asked her if she was going to ask the other children to put their toys away as well. She deflected and reiterated that her assistant was supposed to have everything put away already and we needed to put the toys away as "it's storytime". I am not one to jump to "racism" as an excuse but as the 5 other families in the library were caucasian, I can't help to think that my African American son and I were targeted by Ms. Lynne.This is unacceptable and I will for sure never visit this location again. This is a huge disappointment as the library is a nostalgic and comforting place for us to visit.

I was amazed at the self checkout and the free hiking kits with state park pass to use for free. Most of the books I looked for were checked out or unavailable. Books were priced at $3 but you could purchase a bag of books for $7 after 2 pm. I found a book I was looking for on Irish nationalism and other books. The staff was very pleasant and helpful in assisting me. I noticed most books were new and in good condition in the library. The library was clean, and the new books displayed were impressive. Finding this library was east to drive to, find, and park at despite the busy traffic in the area. Definitely a library I will visit in the future.

Despite its size, it was packed with moms and their little ones for a story time morning. It was easy to sign up for a card with my license. After my information was in the system, I received my card, a magazine that talked about upcoming library events, and an insert that described how to access digital content. They let me know that all library patrons will have to show proof of residency every five years in order for a card renewal. I also learned about the fee structure for any fines. Luckily, they have a system set up to email and/or text you with reminders, should you want them. Since this particular branch is so small and seems to cater to little ones and their parents, I would probably go to another PW location if I needed to do research or was looking for a variety of academic texts. However, I do appreciate the nice service when signing up for a card and learning more about the PW library system.

This is indeed a neighborhood library because it is very small. However, they have a good amount of computers (maybe 8-10), at least two private rooms, it is very clean, and the staff is welcoming and nice. Since it is very small, the book selection isn't as big, but since it is a PWC library, I am sure you can request a book to be sent to this location. Just like other PWC library locations, they have toddler/kid/adult groups/activities, and shows. You just have to look at their schedule. The kid area has tables, a computer, an ottoman, a coloring desk, and puzzles. There is a free parking lot out front and it is in a shopping center.

The staff are extremely helpful as they are cordial and the inside is just as beautiful as the outside. The library has a ton of resources and is a quite place to get some work done.
