Perhaps the worst internet service there is. Want to solve your problems? There call centre will gladly do nothing and insist that the problem is not with them. Call a few more times and they start randomly disconnecting your internet. read more

The worse company I have dealt with. I had to file complains with the CCTS to resolve the issues and this is the ONLY way you can get your issues resolved. Worse Customer Service, there is no follow up to complains, extremely unreliable and unprofessional. Their business practices are terrible. I have to be with them because otherwise I will have to pay an exit fee and I can't afford that. read more

primus business telephone line and internet was very poor. but the biggest cheating and corporation hungriness, was that after 3 years terms, it become automatically year to year ( no monthly). i transferred my line after 3 years term finish, they charged me over 600 dollars for early cancellation. very very bad. i clearly stated in privacy disclosure and signed for 3 years terms, but in fine prints in terms and condition, they wrote one line for annual renewal. i will advise that stay away such cheating company. read more

Absolutely crap. We just moved form a different service provider where we were paying less - just thinking that this is associated with Costco and will be better. Our internet is pathetically slow an phone is not working. I have to yet to speak to an agent since the wait times is so long that call eventually drops. I just phoned and was told by their answering system that call wait time is approx 93 minutes. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS!!! THEY ARE CROOKS!! I received a flyer in a Val Pak envelope last fall offering home phone & internet service at a reasonable price. I called the call centre, was advised that they could not provide internet service in my area but decided to go ahead with the phone service anyway. I added a $19.95 per month unlimited Canada/US long distance service and asked for calling cards. At no time was there any mention of a TERM commitment. If there had been I would not have proceeded because I had no idea who these people were and certainly would not commit to buying phone service from them for a term certain. The service was hooked up and we received their calling cards which, unfortunately, were unsecure. If we lost them anyone could use them as there was no secret PIN. Primus said they could not fix this!! Then we started getting our monthly bills in which they billed us $19.95 for the long distance plan PLUS charges for all the long distance we used as well. I had to call every month to get the bill corrected, wait on hold forever to get to speak to someone, then be told that they just didn't understand why it was happening. But it continued!!! I finally got fed up with their incompetence and cancelled the service. They have since been hounding me for an early cancellation fee (claiming the CSR at time of activation advised me of the term commitment which is BS but the CSR would have to put that in her self serving notes to get her commission) and for $9.95 in long distance charges for the last month. They will not listen to reason, continue to harass me to collect monies they are not entitled to thinking I will probably pay them rather than continue to put up with the harassment. They are just incompetent bullies!!! BEWARE!!!! read more

I have been with primus canada for 5 years, until yesterday. We signed up via phone for 5 cents anytime, canada, us and uk. today I received a bill for $70. Apparently, they charge 39 cents a minute for calls to cells in the uk. I was never told. Called, told tough luck, talked to a supervisor, she couldn't believe that i wouldn't know since i had been them for 5 years. If I was never told and never called a cell, how would I?? She offered me a discount of $5. I have now signed up with Yak at 3.5 cents a min. 5 to uk (29 for cells), no fees, so actually saving $9. a month before I even make a call. When I was at Costco, Primus had a promotion for Costco cardholders; I registered since the internet being offered was almost half of what I am paying at Bell. I was told someone will contact me to let me know if the area where I live (small town east of Toronto) has access to Primus. I didn't hear from them for almost two weeks and suddenly an invoice through e-mail, I called Primus and I asked how can I be billed for something I have not received yet, they told me that their system and their billing cycle was to blame. I said that it didn't look good what was happening, later I received a call letting me know that a modem was on the mail. Later another call confirming that the technician was going to be at my place the following day. I told them I had no modem and they said that was not necessary, that I will be connected and the modem will arrive in 3 to 5 days, so I realized that I was going to be left without internet until the modem arrive. I was still going ahead and change the day the technician will be at my place to make the connection but I decided to check people experiences with Primus and I found it is no good so I cancelled all since without even starting was already a nightmare, Terrible customer service, they are like robots who only follows what is told to say but they can't think. They don't listen they just repeat the same over and over again. Bell is expensive and not the best customer service but is not that bad if we compare with Primus. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would do so. I have spent at least 10 hours on the phone with technical support. They fix nothing. They do nothing, yet they have you spend hours of time on they phone with them reading data from a page that is supposed to diagnose a problem. I have no dial tone on my phone 50% of the time. I have to run to the basement and reboot the phone box several times a day. The wifi cuts out LITERALLY every 2 minutes. They have sent me a new router and it did not fix the problem. I almost broke down crying the other day after spending hours of my time on the phone with them, they had not fixed anything at all, and wanted me to spend another hour on the phone reading data to them over the phone. They refuse to send a technician out to the house. I believe the problem is they do not have quality equipment to support the service and the technical support staff just read notes on their computer to try this and try that. If it doesn't solve the problem they have no way of knowing how to proceed. If I could avoid someone the hassle of this service by writing the review, I will be happy. My life has been miserable for the past 6 weeks never knowing if I will pick up the phone and get a dial tone, or not. Not being able to call a family member to check up on them, because the phone call drops in the middle of a conversation. Not being able to get online without reconnecting every 2 minutes. Please do your self a favour and don't fall for this trap. I am appalled that Costco endorses this service. read more

In 18 years of having bell internet I never had to worry about not having internet because the outage would last for a few days . HOWEVER when my family decided to cut the plug on Bell because we kept going over our limit we (as a family) decided to sign up with Primus . Yeah from a far $39.95 with Internet being *unlimited * which is a joke and landline being good BUT the problem I had with was the internet. The problem with their internet started in Jan 2015 we had no internet because the dsl they sent us could not get a signal we set it up but only to receive news that the tower which the internet is using is 8 km we are 3km short of getting signal . The company sent a IT guy to install a part that will allow us to get internet connection by this time its Mid march 2015 a month and a half of not getting internet service . But I digress the internet was working and we had to call them again long wait times, oh I forgot to mention when we were out with internet for a month and a half we dealt with rude customer Service employees but whatever. So by Aug 2016 the DSL started to get shocked what I mean is the internet kept cutting out we kept restarting it but the internet was not stable so the CSR I talked to nice and respectful guy I wish I knew his name but regardless assured me they would send a new DSL so the first DSL was replaced and when I went to set up the 2nd DSL it was easy the CSR who sent me the new DSL called me up to see if I needed assistance which I did not because once I got it set up it was running smoothly. The 2nd DSL was replaced in Dec 2017 and the same problem I had with the 1st DSL happened with the 2nd one so I replaced the 2nd DSL with a new DSL they sent . It was fine until the internet started acting up which we tried getting repaired which we did but the IT guy who would "keep an eye " on the internet did not. Basically long story short in 3 years I had to change the DSL 3 times I NEVER had any issue with Bell and with their DSL only once in 18 years did we have to change DSL once we had signed up with them back in 1995. I am glad VERY SOON to leave that company however I must confess even though they do have rude CSR reps there are ones who do their absolute best to try and resolve the issue you have. To those wanting to sign up with primus read those reviews before you sign up with them or you may make a horrible decision which will cost you time. GOOD LUCK read more

I hate primus SOOO MUCH!! I was calling about my INTERNET lagging and I met this guy and Rodd. Rodd Wasn't very nice to me when I was calling him. I was going to the speed-test and I had ads as usual. This guy got COMPLETELY SIDE-TRACKED and started talking about spy-ware and how that was making me lag. That is not the truth because even when I HAVE ads on my browser(all the time), I get a 100ms ping to US MCSG. When I get a random slowdown, I get 1000ms ping. I asked why this is happening and he said it was ads and spy-ware and herp-a-derp. Thats not a valid answer. I sometimes get a bad slowdown on my DADS BEAST ALIENWARE PC and he has norton 360. I wish they had a good customer service and a good connection towers. I need better connection and better and NICER people on customer service. I called yesturday about port-fowarding and the guy DENYED EVERYTHING I SAID AND WAS BEING A TOTAL RETARD!!! I also called today and asked about port-forwarding and RODD WAS BACK!! I asked him how to port-forward and he said its not his problem, it is your internet. YOUR ARE MY INTERNET PRIMUS. He said it was STILL the ads and the spy ware!!!Primus needs to fix things up to get the rating from 2stars to atleast 3. read more

I had their phone service for about 2 years with no problems, but the internet was a whole different story. First, when I inquired about adding internet, they said it was $63 a month for phone and internet. I agreed, and they sent a modem in the mail. When I received the modem, there was no instructions for connecting for wireless. I was unable to connect to the internet, so I phoned technical support which proved helpful as far determining if the problem was due to a faulty modem setting. It was not, so I suspected the wiring and asked for a Telus technician to be sent out. They said, "someone will contact you on Monday" Nobody did. I phoned again, and after being on hold forever, was transferred from one sales person to another and then was cut off. Over the next 2 weeks I tried several times to get someone to schedule a repair person to come out, and no seemed to have a clue about the scheduling. My first Primus bill arrived and showed the $63 charge as agreed plus another $40 for the internet. I got frustrated by their inaction and by the bill and switched to Telus, who sent out a technician after 3 days and got my internet hooked up (the problem was I wasn't patched in to the telephone pole). Then, about 3 weeks later I get an email from Primus saying they are sending out a Telus technician to hook up my internet! I say no, I've already discontinued my service. Of course, I received a bill for my non-existent service. I phoned Primus who said it would be corrected on my next bill. Then what do I see on my next bill besides the correction but termination charges for $400! $200 for the phone and $200 for the internet. I phone and say what gives? It's because you terminated your contract. What contract? Nobody mentioned one to me. It seems obvious I shouldn't have to pay the termination fee for a service (the internet) that I never received. The service rep on the phone says she'll write a letter to her manager to waive the charges, and that's the status now. I can only hope for the best on my next bill... read more

I wouldn't recommend Primus to anybody, for buisness or personal use, I wouldn't even give 1 star. I used their Broadband service for 2 years and it worked fine when the service actually worked. As in everyday, the service would disconnect for up to an hour. I cancelled the service back in January, and now I have a collection agency calling me telling me I have an outstanding balance owed. I have never been contacted by Primus by phone, mail or email to inform of this, because I would have PAID!!! After talking to 20 different customer service reps, which seemed to enjoy hanging up on me, transferring me mid-setence etc..., (all of them would gain from actually learning what the words "customer service" means) I have been told there is nothing they can do. On their reports, they have tried to contact me and apparently the phone line I use day in day out, is not in service. (how convenient!). This confuses me since this is the number they gave the collection agency to contact me with, and they obviously had no problems. My two cents is that this is an bad company all around for products, service and customer service. STAY AWAY from this company! Anything is better then the treatment I have been giving. I even asked for a simple apology from the manager and she flat out said "there is nothing I can do to help you mam..." read more

Primus is the worst company I've ever subscribed to. They charged me a little over $80 for internet dsl and home phone and the worst part is that I have to be on their contract. When I first moved into the basement where I currently live, I needed internet for job searching, and they took 2 weeks to get it installed. Their first technician did not do a good job, but let me know to call Primus so they could have him come back and fix the problem with internet. I called them and they said they can't get him and they choose who to assign to my basement, and had me keep running around calling them just to get another dsl install technician. When I cancelled their phone service and internet service, I wanted them to transfer my home phone number to the other phone provider, and after 2 weeks it got done, when it should have taken a few days to do. Their customer service representative told me to give them a call back so they could give me a partial refund. I called them and their other representative said that I cannot get a refund, even though I pretty much lost service for 2 weeks. I was very upset and hanged up on them due to their lies. Do not ever use them as your ISP and Phone Provider unless you really have no choice (no other providers in your area), they are big thieves. I pay your Canadian government all the taxes, only to get screwed over by your companies. What a joke of a country. Thanks for making poor people poorer and rich people richer. read more

i start switching my Internet from Telus to Primus, because it was backed by Cotsco, where i got other services with excellent results, but what a nightmare, first they bill me for first month right of way, even if i didn't have the services from them yet, then they did the credit back for this month, and told me that the service will start on December 18 2013, but again they bill for December,January, and February without service, because they sent the modem to my house, and for some reason the modem was returned on January 14/2014 to them, but the rude customer service told me that i still have to pay for the invoice, because the service was already install it and it doesn't matter if i have the modem or not,the Internet service will work with any read more

The prices are good in comparison to other providers, but the CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL. First I waited for 1:15:00 on the phone to change my business line to a private line going back and forth from one person to another because they didn't know if that could even be done. Then finally I received help but they were absolutely no help with the next steps of what I was supposed to do to set up the phone at home and make sure the business line wasn't dead before doing so so I wouldn't miss any calls. I have no idea still where I am at with anything. They said they needed to send a technician out - have no idea if they have set that up or when he is to come and why? The Toll free number the rep I spoke with isn't even a direct line to her and I have sent her countless emails requesting for help and absolutely no response. It has been a week and I have no clue where things are with my transition and new hook up. This is absolutely ridiculous and very unfair. I am soooooo angry right now and still waiting on them. Not good ! Not fair! Unbelievable! read more

I was a Primus customer for 3 years and have even recommended them to other people... I won't do that again. When I moved to my new address I requested the digital home phone service. They were never able to get it to work, not one call. I was on the phone with their tech support many times back and forth, ran diagnostics, spent lots of my personal time on my cell trying to get this home phone thing to work. Eventually I decided that I couldn't spend anymore time on it. Eventually I was hit with a $100 early termination fee for a service that never worked. Customer service did not deal with my complaints well to say the least. I had to escalate my complaints and be put on hold several times. The situation was handled really poorly and they made no attempt to keep my business. They were just fine to let me walk away. While they might be a bit cheaper, it is easy to see why. Not the greatest tech support and really poor customer service. read more

Their customer service is horrible. When we first signed up with Primus we had issues for approximately 6 weeks. They kept making errors with dates and the modem delivered. It took that long to finally be up and running. We actually had it and then we didn't. It was just cut off with no notice whatsoever. Each time they messed up, we had to wait weeks for it to be fixed. Again on Saturday June 26, we were cut off again. The reason? It had something to do with being on a Dry Loop or a Wet Loop?????? Turns out we were on the wrong loop the past year. No notice, just cut off. Contacted Primus again to see how long it will take. The earliest they say they can get us connected again is July 6 because a "BELL" technician (changed from Bell to Primus) has to flick the switch ( I guess). There are no service calls in the evening or weekends. It will be sometime between 8:00 am & 5:00 pm. When there are no issues, things work fine, but when something happens, that's not even your fault and you have to wait 9 days to be reconnected again, that's ridiculous and unacceptable. I will be looking for a new service provider ASAP and I suggest you not even go there. read more
