From the moment you walk into this beautiful place you are taken back by the lush surroundings. We…read morewere well cared for by the kind and meticulous people working here. If that wasn't enough, this is definitely on my top 5 best meals of my life. Here's everything we had: -Tuna tostadas - wow. This is a popular dish in this city and this one might be the best one. Herby, fresh and flavorful. -Heirloom tomatoes with smoked tomato au jus - OMG this was incredible. I've never had anything like it and I try to recreate it every day. Still craving it. -Caesar salad - little baby gem lettuces packed with finely shredded cheese looking like snowballs. Very creative and yummy rendition of this salad. -Ravioli - perfectly made pasta, delicate and light. Dreamy. -The burger - Whoa. I know I keep saying best but this was the best gd burger of my life. Perfect buttery brioche, the meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The bechamel type sauce it had on top was otherworldly. We were all licking our fingers. -Of course we couldn't pass up dessert! We got the Panna Cotta - it was light and airy with fresh mango and shards of white chocolate coconut meringue I think. Heavenly. -The cheesecake with mixed berry compote. Even after all of that we still managed to finish this too. A very good cheesecake. Don't miss out on the craft cocktails and their wine list. Superb. Every detail in this place is perfect. We even got a tour of the inside. Apparently they have a DJ here on the weekend. Definitely a place you want to stay and take in. Make reservations at least a month ahead of time.

This was my favorite meal in Mexico City, and honestly will be one of the most memorable dining…read moreexperiences in my life. Everything was so exceptional: the delicious, fresh food, beautifully presented, the exquisite service and hospitality, the excellent wine list (we had an Equua red blend from Valle de Guadalupe and Les Calcaires Sancerre from France), and the stunning setting in a restored Art Deco mansion with a lush garden of 50-year-old towering cacti and even a pond with live axolotls - that was quite a treat! The chefs are both alums of the world-renowned, two-Michelin-starred restaurant Quintonil, and Botanico has also earned its own Michelin Plate recognition. We came with a group of 30 for our firm retreat, and every item they served was incredible, beautiful and delicious. We had: - Ceasar salad - little individual ones you could eat like a taco! Loved. - Tuna tostada w/ avocado puree, salsa macha in delicious sauce. Wow - Fried calamari in a tangy Asian sauce; - Ricotta ravioli topped w/ butternut pumpkin cream & blue crab; wow! - Braised short rib, mashed potatoes, jus & pea salad - so flavorful -Veal milanese w/ tomato glace, and arugula salad- best veal I've had - Coconut panna cotta topped w/ diced sweet mango, meringue & basil; simple and light, but the best dessert we had all week! They even prepared a vegetarian menu for our guests which looked phenomenal, too: - Tomato tastada w/ smoked tomato jus, peach and basil oil - Roasted cauliflower, pine nut chimichurri and vegetable jus -Grilled catch of the day w/ romesco sauce and pea salad -Brie burnt cheesecake w/ blueberries and seasonal sorbet. It truly was a magical evening. Muchas gracias!

While in Mexico City for our honeymoon, we ate at some incredible restaurants. As far as overall…read moreexperience though, I think Casa Virginia was my favorite. Everything was delicious, perfectly cooked and presented in a beautiful way. Plus the service was impeccable! We needed a place to go to for thanksgiving dinner. While not a popular holiday in Mexico, it was still hard to find places with reservations for 8 ppl due to Covid. CV made it really easy with open table, we got a res for 7pm. They sat us down in the back room in this gorgeous private space with a long table. When I explained that I was gluten free, they carefully wrote down on the menu all the things I needed to avoid. There was still a ton I could order. Our group did family style, and ordered almost everything. We got the friend shrimp wontons, the escargot, the burrata, pate, the pork mignon, sea-bass, short rib, lamb shank, risotto and a whole fish! Everything we ate was amazing. I had to skip the shrimp and risotto but I was told those were also great. My favorite dish was probably the lamb shank and the fish. Our cocktails and wine were also perfectly balanced and amazing. Wine in Mexico isn't always the best, but CV had a wonderful selection and we ended up ordering 4 or 5 bottles. Even though this restaurant isn't as well known or eclectic as some of the others you've heard of, it is a must if you are seeking delicious and well made food!

We booked this visit for New Year's Eve many weeks ahead. When we arrived, we found out that a day…read moreor two earlier, they changed to a set menu. The menu was not very good and they charged 3,000 pesos for it! And it was only 4 courses! The menu was also mostly seafood and the seafood alternatives were all vegetables. At that price, at least they should have good alternatives. We just left and ate dinner a few blocks away.
