I love these hoagies. This was my first time ordering a two footer and now I can't wait to do it again. I feel like there's always controversy with the seeded roll. I like them, my friend exclaimed they were too hard. If you like a lot of mayo or oil or vinegar or whatever the roll holds up nicely and you aren't left with a soggy mess. read more

I am not a hoagie lover but my husband is....and every now and then he convinces me to share one. I decided to try Primo's ~ and I am so very glad this place is close by. The Cracked Pepper Turkey, Provolone with Roasted Red Peppers (on the menu, it is under "Primo Specialties") was amazing! The seeded roll and spices definitely added to the excellent flavor, the cracked pepper turkey was excellent and the red peppers....it was a perfect combination. Not flexible at all I placed an order thru grub hub marked it for pick up and wanted it delivered. Grub hub or primos could not accommodate me and I'm 40 buckets short. Very disappointed loyal customer for 10 yrs will never eat primos again read more

So I've been passing this place for a while, and I decide I'm going to go have one of my favorite sandwiches at this location. I have never been to this one and I walked in at 7:48. I was on the phone with my son trying to figure out what he wanted. The guy behind the counter interrupted me to let me know that they are not making sandwiches anymore tonight. There's a neon open sign in the window. There is a sandwich board out front with their specials. It's Saturday night at 7:50. I wonder how long this place will be in business because they just lost mine forever. So I decided to call at 7:55 they didn't answer, so I called again. They answered after 10 rings and I asked to pick up a sandwich. They said they were closed do I asked when they closed on Saturday night. He said 7. Then said I mean 8. I said it's not 8 yet. An order was placed for delivery for a work Christmas party today and the driver showed up over an hour late from the scheduled delivery time. When I called to find out where our order was or when it was going to arrive, they couldn't tell me. I asked if they could call the driver to find out where they were but was told the driver doesn't have a cell phone. WTH! Then asked if I could get some sort of discount due to the delivery being late and was told no. Poor customer service. Never again. read more

I hadn't even fully ordered yet and the staff was already assembling our sandwiches. It seemed they were listening pretty carefully while I was placing the order with the very unenthusiastic guy at the counter.We had the proscuitto, fresh mozzarella and roasted peppers and added broccoli rabe. I lived in Italy for almost a year and this reminded me of something I would get there almost until I got it. The mozzarella tasted distinctively like cream cheese-- it had a seriously funny taste to it and the consistency of cream cheese as well. I would not get it again because we both ended up picking it off of our sandwiches. The broccoli rabe had absolutely no salt whatsoever on it. We ended up picking this off as well. Vegetables are the kind of things that are really important to salt well while cooking. They are like pasta in the sense that if not salted while cooking, no amount of salt added after will help. You can look at this like maybe they left the salt out to be health conscious, but when you think you are eating a Primo's hoagie, that idea is quickly squashed. The second reason I thought this could be is because lunch meat, especially proscuitto, is so naturally salty. If this is the reason, in this case, I don't think it works. The plus side is the great quality of proscuitto they use. It has very little fat on it. They shave it thin, and pile it up. Try the potato salad! It's great. Red onions, a little hint of sour cream and some red potatoes! Love it!! read more

A buddy was stopping over my place and said he'd pick us up a Deoblo (sp?) hoagie. It cost $20.xx, but you have it for 2 days, the thing's huge with excellent roll. The hoagie was superior. Primo Hoagies' reputation precedes itself. This franchisee however is not doing it justice. We have an office in the area so we have ordered from here 4 times. Sad to say, but this is the last time. Each time we ordered, there was at least one mistake with the order: oil instead of mayo, added onions, charged for extra item to name a few. We brushed it off the first couple times, but when we called about the last issue, the girl on the phone non-chalantly asked, "What do you want us to do about it? The delivery guy left already." Great customer service!! There are too many hoagie shops to have to tolerate this incompetence. In addition, there is another Primo about the same distance from us on Welsh so that's the one we're going to next time. This location is not worth the aggravation. read more

Had a casual work lunch here and I have no complaints! 4 stars because nothing blew my mind. The traffic of patrons was steady, the hoagies consistent with what I've had at other Primo locations and the service nice enough. I will say, and I found this odd that the receipts say "Primo - Frankford" and the address, location, and phone number are blank...insignificant, but odd. read more

Hoagies here are good but I'm a Wawa guy when in philly. My opinion, no Wawa around, go here! Miss my hoagies down here in GA.

I wish there was a selection of stars for location, service, product, taste, etc. But there isn't so the 3 stars are for the sandwiches. I frequent this place 3-4X/month and always spend more than $25. I go here, in spite of the lack of enthusiasm in the help and their inability to get orders right, because eventhough there are myriad places to get a hoagie in this neighborhood, most of them stink. For some reason these guys refuse to cut their hoagies, even when requested. I got 2 to go last night, asked for hots on the side and the sandwiches cut in half. I picked them up, with extras, and, again, specifically asked if they were cut and the manager assured me they were. MY FAULT, I was running late and trusted him. There I was, at the Philles game, ripping an otherwise beautiful creation in half...with no hot peppers. These aren't major screw ups but you would think, especially in this economy, small businesses would be on top of their game all the time. I guess my $100 or so per month isn't valued enough to listen and complete my order accurately. I guess I'll be spending some of that money on new hoagie research. It's a shame because it's a great sandwich. read more

I'll admit back in 2010 the primos in this location was amazing at making a great sandwhich, But now its all just slopped together like all the other terrible hoagie shops and if you order an Italian with sweet capicoli, expect to always get spicy don't get me wrong I love spicy but when I order for a party my guests all don't eat spicy stuff and the owner used to be present most of the time now its a bunch of young men running the place and terribly I might add sad that I had to stop going here loved a decent Italian hoagie with bananas peppers. read more

I love Primo Hoagies. A little expensive, but they're huge and can (for me) be split into two meals. I think the cold cuts and cheeses are very high quality, but as we all know, the roll makes the sandwich. And their rolls are the best. I do agree with other reviewers, however, on the customer service issue. I've left the restaurant with "mistake" sandwiches....not cut in half, directions not followed, and, once, a completely different sandwich that I couldn't eat at all due to dietary restrictions. (In their defense. upon my next visit, the manager did replace it.) read more

This being my first time going here, I didn't know what to expect. In spite of what other people had said, I think this place deserves a better rap then what others have said. I think the people working there were helpful. They helped me out with deciding what I wanted and my sandwich was made good and tasted even better. Let me say first, I love the Primo Hoagies!! We always get hoagies from here, especially when we have company over. They are always a big hit. The two times I have been there, the customer service was horrible. I called an order in and a "young" girl had quite the attitude when taking my order. The next time i walked in and placed an order, and another young girl walked up to the counter looking at her cell phone saying...can i help you. Ah yeah you can get off your phone. She never made eye contact, never smiled...nothing. During this same visit.....I overheard a lot of conversation about a tv show, but no one was making my sandwich. It was near closing, and it wasn't crowded at all. Oh and one more thing....they close at 8, i called at 745 pm and they wouldn't take my one sandwich order. They said they were cleaning up. Uh last time i checked, you take orders until closing unless it is stated elsewhere. Again, I love Primo Hoagies!! Just not this location. I wouldn't recommend it all. I will be going to the one on Welsh, or somewhere else. Horrible! read more

I think the hoagies are just ok, but have to give one star for the terrible customer service. I got a hoagie and asked them not to put on any oil and vinegar, but they put it on anyway. Then the guy behind the counter had an attitude and said that was how they made them and it would not taste right otherwise. They remade it for me, but there was no reason to have an attitude. It was big and not real expensive for all the food you get, and it tasted ok, not bad, not great. But I would not go back because of the attitude. read more

I was helping a friend out making food for a baby shower. I must have put too many salty spices in it becuase it turned out terrible. I decided to call primo hoagies instead to bring a hoagie tray or something. They were so helpful and made it for me within 45 minutes. The man at the counter was friendly and told me that he was the manager there for a few years, his name was Victor. I told him about the reviews here about the girl being rude and he apologized and said that it's sometimes hard to get good help. He did say that a lot of the workers that are there have been working for primo hoagies for sometime so the customer service has improved. He said that next time you should call him right away and he will try to correct your hoagie or assist us in anyway. He truly seemed to care about customer comments and was upset about the remarks made here. My experience was great and the service was excellent. I do wish that they had more tables because I had to stand while I waited, but at least they accomodated me on such short notice. He even threw in a bag of chips. Communication is always the key (unless somebody starts screaming or throwing f... bombs). They had this amazing salad with cheese balls, i think mozzarela and it had fresh gardlic and red peppers; it was really good. Victor even gave me a sample first because I wasn't sure I wanted to pay for something if I don't like it. Ya gotta give them a try again; I had a great experience --- especially because they saved my but at the baby shower. Everybody loved the hoagie tray...it was the first thing to go. The rolls have some kind of seeds on them that are really tasty. read more
