Great automated car wash you go through highly recommended…read more As for my experience I've been looking at this place for the past year since I service the Lowes across the street I had time to kill the other day and haven't washed my car in almost 6 months So I decided to give this place a try I was created by a worker I believe her name was Vanessa she was very helpful I had no idea what to go with so she gave me advice on what each tier comes with The machines washed my car good I was pleased that there was parking to vacuum my car out and the vacuum is constantly on so that's great I can't remember how many times I've paid for a car wash that's over 60 dollars and my vehicles weren't vacuumed fully Great thing is this place has a 3 day period to get your car washed again so that's great Will be coming back

I got my car washed here last Saturday. After going through the wash, I was vacuuming my car when I…read morenoticed my spare tire cover was missing. I went back and asked about it, hoping it had simply fallen off somewhere. I was told it had gone into part of their car wash system and was stuck inside. They said they would check after business hours and told me to call back the next day. I gave them a couple of days and called Monday. At that point, I was told they usually do not check that area until they clean it out Wednesday night, so I should call back Thursday. Thursday morning, I received a message saying they found the tire cover and that it was ready for pickup. I had work, so I could not make it over that day. Then on Friday, someone called and told me they had the tire cover "that you left." That wording bothered me because I did not leave anything behind. Their car wash pulled the cover off my vehicle and into their equipment. When I finally went to pick it up, the cover was still wet, filthy, torn, and mangled. I was already keeping my expectations pretty low, but they could have at least cleaned it up or told me ahead of time that it had been damaged. An appropriate resolution would have been for them to apologize, acknowledge that their equipment damaged the cover, and offer to pay for a replacement. Instead, I made another trip over there to pick up something that had been damaged by their equipment, with no warning about the condition it was in. Overall, the whole situation was handled poorly and ended up wasting my time.

I'm giving House of Car Wash in Montclair four stars and honestly I'm being a little generous,…read moremainly because the staff was genuinely very nice and accommodating, and I want to give credit where it's due. This one's partly on me because I showed up without my key, but they were super patient and worked with me, even letting me drive my Tesla through the wash myself. They helped me figure out valet mode, didn't rush me, and were calm while I was clearly stressed trying to get everything sorted. That kind of customer service matters and it definitely saved the experience from being a total letdown. That said, the vibe was... strange. I pulled up and genuinely thought the place was closed. It was completely empty, no cars, no staff visible, nothing. It felt like a zombie zone. I sat there confused for a minute until someone randomly appeared and waved me in. Even when I went to pay afterward, there was nobody around again, which added to the whole uneasy, deserted feeling. What was extra surprising is that it was a Tuesday special, so I expected at least some traffic. Seeing it that dead was honestly concerning, especially given how highly rated this place is on Yelp. As for the wash itself, I paid about $50 for a wash with wax and I don't think I'd do that again. I actually watched them wash the car and didn't see anything particularly special that justified the price. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't impressive. I also tried the massage chairs out front while waiting, which cost $5 for 15 minutes, and I definitely wouldn't recommend that. Totally not worth it, especially sitting there alone in an empty lot. Overall, the staff was kind and helpful, and that's the main reason this isn't a lower rating, but the odd atmosphere, pricing, and mismatch between expectations and reality mean I probably won't be back.
