    Nachos with carne asada

We were in the area for a work meeting and a search took us to Primecut Taqueria. We were lucky and found street parking close to the restaurant. As we walked towards the front door, we immediately were drawn to the smoky grilled mesquite aroma. The inside feels a little cramped because there were already a few people in line and it was backing up to the salsa bar area. We ordered at the front counter and the menu is pretty simple. Note that there are different prices for the types of meats. I ordered three tacos, with Carne Asada, pork belly, and I think tripas. They come with just tortillas and meat and you can add your own onions and cilantro and any other condiments from the self serve salsa bar. There's a rainbow of colors of different sauces and spice levels. I was glad they also had radish and cucumbers slices, which I love to help cut down the oily grease. I enjoyed the smoky grilled taste of the meats. The pork belly was a little too hard and dry for me though and I won't get that again. My coworkers each ordered the nachos with Carne Asada and Pollo. The nachos plate was huge and probably could've been enough for 2 to 3 people to share. Sure, I'd come back if I was in the area.

The whole experience was unpleasant. When we arrived, there weren't a lot of people in the restaurant. We began by ordering several of their prime meat cuts. However after waiting over thirty minutes, the waitress tells us that they are all out of all the prime cuts. Due to the price, they can only replace it with fish which we don't like, but we agreed to. 45 minutes after arriving, we finally got our food and it was just ok. Nothing special, just tacos. I'm so disappointed that we spent $60 on 3 street tacos, 1 mulita and two sodas. The tables were dirty, the restaurant is overwhelmingly small especially when you're trying to grab salsas.

Tried this place today and placed my order online. Went with two steak quesadillas, extra cheese and an Anaheim chile with added cheese. The quesadilla was packed with meat; honestly, it was more like a giant taco, but I'm not complaining! I usually order quesadillas because I'm a cheese lover, and this hit the spot. Can't wait to come back and try more items. The salsa bar was fully stocked, and every sauce was on point. Paid like $28 Steak Quesadillas: 8/10

Stopped by on a dog walk and was excited to see this place open. I ordered three tacos, fish, rib meat and pork belly. Ate the fish taco first and it was the best. I would not order the other two tacos again. Here you order at the counter and receive a table number for food delivery. You then take your tacos to the salsa bar and add cilantro onions and whatever you want. The person who helped me at the counter was very nice and brought water for my dog. When the whole outside is available for seating it will be great because this corner can get hot.

Primecut Taqueria is a new spot on the Center Street Promenade. They had someone right outside charring the meat so the smell draws you inside. The indoor seating is limited but the chairs are very comfortable. Parking is limited on the street but the parking structure has free two hour parking on the ramp leading up to the second floor. I always love a place with a good salsa bar. Their green salsa was really good and the habanero was super spicy! There's a range for everyone. Today I tried the asada burrito bowl. It comes with beans, rice, cheese and onions. The meat was a little chewy for my liking. I thought it had a little too much fat. But that is my personal preference. I didn't get too much flavor from the rice and beans. I'll be back to try other meats. Their tacos and loaded papas look good. The staff were so kind and provided quick and great service.

Decided to stop into Primecut Taqueria with our family randomnly walking through downtown Anaheim. So glad we did because this place seriously surprised us in the best way We ordered two premium tacos with arrachera, costilla, and pork belly, plus a cheese quesadilla for our daughter. The arrachera is their most popular meat and now I understand why. It was super flavorful and tender. Next time we are definitely getting all three tacos with arrachera. The pork belly taco was also really good and rich, but the costilla was my least favorite. The first one I received looked mostly like burnt ends, but they fixed it right away without hesitation and brought me a new one with much more meat. Really appreciated that level of service. And the cheese quesadilla totally caught us off guard. I believe they use halloumi cheese and it was so delicious that my husband and I kept sneaking bites from our daughter What started as a random stop during a downtown walk turned into one of our favorite Taco Tuesday finds. Everything tasted fresh, the staff was great, and we will definitely be back

Taco Tuesday is a great deal I went for lunch and the food was fresh, meat was nice and juicy. It's nice that the aguas are $3.50 as well. When I was rung up I was charged full price so I had to go ask for an adjustment. I wish their online menu offered taco Tuesday but the cashier said it was in store and their number listed is for corporate . When I went at night around 8:30 the quality wasn't the same the meat was a bit dried out which was disappointing. I do love their sides and the options they provide. Definitely a good spot for tacos either way!

Super tasty food, great sauces. On par with other great taco places. They give humongous amounts of guac. Not features in the review was the chips & guac for $9.5 and they gave so much guac. I don't know if it's because they recently opened but never seen a place not be so shy about portions. Lovely staff, outdoor seating can be cleaned up a bit but overall good food.

Great variety on the menu, as well as addition of prime special meats. Very delicious and great quality. Service was immaculate, no matter what time of the day, willing to help and is super nice. Restaurant was well maintained and the sauce bar was fantastic with everything stocked up , even late at night near closing time.

    So tasty

After a long day at Universal Studios my husband and I wanted to try this place since we recently saw that it had opened. We had heard it was from the same ownership as Tacos Los Cholos (which we love) so we also had to try this smaller taqueria and if the tacos were just as good. Anyways the customer service was great and the tacos were so freaking delicious! I love me some asada and adobada tacos, always my favorite. It was disappointing to see the reviews other people left because honestly those reviews are trash and people who have no knowledge about Mexican tacos should not even be able to leave their opinions or reviews. I would ignore those reviews and give the spot a try. Yes the place is not that big but are taquerias with real flavor always big? No definitely not. Thanks for the yummy tacos and hope the business thrives for years to come!

    Nachos. No crema. Asada

After a horrible experience down the street , thought I would give this new place a try. Have visited twice. I stopped by two days ago, apparently it was their soft opening. One person got tacos. I ordered nachos with asada no crema. Tacos arrived. Nachos arrived with crema. So the waiter (who took the order) noticed and whisked the away to be remade. By the time they arrived my friend had finished their tacos. And the cheese on my nachos wasn't melted through. Flavor wise. The meat was good. Albeit we both agreed it lacked seasoning. As far as the mishap. No apology from anyone. Chalked it up to opening night jitters Stopped by today for lunch. Got two aracherra tacos and two costilla tacos. (To go). Total was about $20. Strangely almost the same as my nachos a couple nights before. I'd say the tacos might be a better value if you're just going by the amount of protein The tacos today were good, and the portion generous. For a lunch option near my office, it was such a better option than the sandwich place was next door. And almost the exact same price. (Previous review) Again, the meat was under seasoned. I'd say that the upgrade from asada to premium cuts of aracherra and costilla weren't worth it, tho. The aracherra was cooked well done. So really not much difference than asada. Since the ribs were also cooked very well done, there wasn't much richness left.. instead u just got bits of gristle. All the salsas I tried were great. The comparison to el cholo is fair, and honestly to skip the line I'd probably come here. I do think they need to season (salt even) their proteins a bit more, but am glad to have another nice lunch spot nearby

Food was good. It took a while to get our chips and guacamole. They need to do better at cleaning up their trash bins. They were full the whole time we were there and nobody bothered to clean them out.

Tacos were great, Cheyenne helped me out and gave me great recommendations that I loved. She also cleaned the table before and after we ate.

And if you don't have one, you should probably remedy that. And when you have one, be sure to add this place to it. We took a little week long road trip to Disneyland with the kiddos, and of course was craving a little Taco time. The Wifey, being much more up to date on this social media stuff, found this place on that "Insty gram" thingy. So we headed over. It's only a 10-15 minute drive from Disney, but after trying it, would gladly drive a hell of a lot further. It's a Disney themed taco spot! The decor is cool, the owner and his staff are even cooler, and the food is awesome!!! I thought the "Tacos Chingones" were gonna be regular street tacos, but nooo... these things were epic! The "Gobernador," grilled shrimp, with cheese and house made pico, on fresh corn tortillas. The beeer battered fish taco with cabbage, house pico, sour cream and secret sauce. The pork belly taco, with onions, cilantro, avocado sauce and pickled onions, that really helped balance out that deliciously unctuous porky pig. AMAZING!!!! Then, they have a whole separate Birria menu!!! So of course, being a fat kid, I had to try the Birria Quesadilla. It was loaded with delicious, slow cooked, beef Birria and melty, gooey, stretchy Oaxaca cheese. You could taste all the spice notes, the cinnamon, cloves, thyme and Mexican Oregano all singing in harmony with the Pasilla, Guajillo and Arbol chilies. Then that consommé... that delicious preserved broth oozing with Birria goodness. Puts it right on par with the best roast beef and French dip you've ever had. And I'm not even gonna go into the house made, family recipe salsas sitting there conveniently at the table, ready to set your food on next level fire!!! Especially the "Chikali" salsa. Created by the owner himself, this sauce is literally fire. Spicy, but not overly, and so, so flavorful! If he doesn't start bottling them and selling them, he's doing himself and the taco community a disservice. Anywho... I washed it all down with a couple of delicious, ice cold Pacifico cerveza's and called it a night. I left full, fat and happy. Fueled up and ready to hit the park again in the morning. The moral of the story is, if you're anywhere near Anaheim and you're craving some good, modern, Mexican food, be sure to put this place on your Taco itinerary. And if you're not craving Mexican food, reevaluate your life decisions and go here anyway. You'll be glad you did. That is all!
