Thomas is highly responsive to communication, which again is quite unusual with most contractors in my experience, so that was a nice plus too. They provided evidence of insurance upon request. We paid a 50% deposit to get on the schedule and I was able to pay that by credit card without an extra fee, which was appreciated since it allowed me to get reward points on the purchase. A crew of three guys came out to the house early in the morning and completed the job just before dark. They did a phenomenal job. Each step was documented with pictures to show where rotten decking needed to be replaced, and an explanation of everything. Despite already being reasonably priced, Thomas gave us a nice discount for the extra decking on the final invoice, which was a happy surprised and very much appreciated. Of the 4 bids, his was the lowest and one other was a bit higher. The other two were over $43K and the bid for gutters were over double what Jose provided. I went over all 4 scopes of work and walked the roof with Jose and his scope of work was identical to the $43K roofers. His gutter bid was also the lowest. I typically don't go with the lowest bid, but dealing directly with the owner vs. high pressure salespeople, was a deciding factor. Jose and his workers showed up on time, worked very hard, cleaned up every day and did a fantastic job. The roof and gutter installation was perfect.
