This place isn't the greatest. Hard to go from 2nd Ave down the street to this place. It's organized but not by size. The clothing isn't the greatest. And the furniture is expensive. Whoever is pricing it needs to remember it's SECOND HAND. Therefor a dresser should not be $499. Thats not a deal. I think I'll stick to 2nd Ave stores. read more

My husband and I tried to donate some items from a Vet who had passed away. We went down on Friday evening and arrived at 6:40 p.m. Upon entering the parking lot the helper was shutting the door to the trailer and we asked if we could drop off some furniture. He told us they were closed. I had checked before we left and the website said they accepted donations until 7:00 pm. We left and I called the store and after being put on hold for 6 mins was told we could have left the stuff on the side of the building. Really? You want items in good condition, but then tell me to leave them outside? I asked why we were told they were closed and he said the helper had to leave early and after asking what we had wanted to know if we could come back the next day. NO - you had your chance. I will find a friendlier place to donate. read more

In my hunt for an 80's dress for the Yelp party, I found myself here. This place looks huge from the outside, but its not. The clothing section was organized and easy to navigate. It took me about 10min to discover they didn't have anything in my size that would work. The thing that really irritated me about this store was the sizing. Size small seems to include everything from a 0-8. Oh well, only 10min wasted. read more

Very well organized, clean, tremendous selection of clothes. The store's size vs. the sheer amount of stuff can be overwhelming, but that's part of the fun. The book section could be neater, but heck I found a like-new signed copy of The Snow Queen by Michael Cunningham for less than $2 (authentic as it still had the Politics & Prose "signed copy" sticker on it). There are 2 thrift stores in the Laurel area and this is the one I prefer. They have a large selection of clothes, not a lot of nick knacks and they have some furniture. Often their credit card machine doesn't work so bring some cash just in case. Prices are reasonable though. read more

This store is getting worst and worst. The last few times I came here, I found several items torn and/or with huge stains. Other thrift stores in the area are better about making sure what goes onto the sales floor. While they are organized, their selection is limited for clothing. Their other items are decent. However, I primarily go to thrift stores in search for good clothing finds. So this one has been crossed off my list. I don't enjoy coming here anymore, on top of the slow and rude customer service. Really loved this thrift store and found it well-worth the drive to Laurel (which has little else to recommend it). A large selection of clothing, housewares and furniture. I found the clothes and shoes reasonably priced and in great abundance (great wool skirt for $3 and brand new Steve Madden flats for $7). The housewares (dishes, mostly) and furniture were a bit pricey, so I wouldn't recommend this place for outfitting your home. Try it out! read more

I absolutely L O V E this place!! By far my favorite in the entire area. Thrifty's generally have better much pricing than the Goodwill's and 2nd Avenue's in the area. This store always has a great selection of clothing, a good mix of fun vintage and current stuff. I greatly appreciate the sales and I think their loyalty program is hands down the best I've come across. I've been in this location maybe 8 times this year (pre COVID and present) and I've always left very happy. The employees seem very kind, there seem to be a lot of regulars that come in and out that they always seem to recognize them. I've checked out with Maria enough times to remember her and she's always wonderful and sweet (which during a pandemic is -really- saying something) so I felt the need to shout her out! I'm aware other thrift stores (Goodwill, Planet Aid) have an issue of corporate making big profits while their store employees are paid poorly. Thrifty's website doesn't provide enough information but all I can say is irregardless of what their current rate is, all these people should get a raise lol! 10/10 five stars! read more

Everything was exceptionally ordered by size as well as the typical men's and women's sections. Very easy to find what I was looking for, and the staff was very friendly. Forget 2nd avenue is right I was in there today and for the second time when I got to the register they said the price was incorrectly marked and they could not sell it for the price marked WHAT they can change prices at the register, what kind a joint is that Ever since they changed the name it has not been the same. One of the better Maryland thrift stores. It's a little cramped and messy (nothing I wouldn't expect from a thrift), but the merchandise is generally high quality and the prices are fair. I wish turnover was a bit higher, but in general, these guys are good. Supports a good cause too. A great alternative to 2nd Ave down the road. read more

I have to agree with Carolyn C's review, verBATim. From the outside I thought this was going to be a huge wide airy store, like 2nd Ave, however, I walked in and an unpleasant smell smacks ya in the face immediately but worse for me was it was VERY tight and cramped in there, very claustrophobic, which I can't stand. The check out line (only 1) stretched to the back of the store. My friend and I walked around through the men's wear and furniture spaces. The furniture space was appalling to say the least, absolute junk. We left there, went to Salvation Army SuperStore about a mile up the road and found it much much MUCH more appealing and found great furniture in great condition. To be fair I suppose if you're looking for clothes, Laurel Thrift is a decent enough place, clothes were definitely the dominant item there. But you'd have to pack your patience in there, it's very tight, long lines and bad smells. We walked in and instantly, sorry to say, knew we wouldn't be there more than a couple of minutes. Guys, for better men's clothes and much more pleasant experience, also try Savage Mill's historic art mall "Phil's" where everything item is $5. Suits, slacks, shoes, shirts, sweaters, ties, sweet dressing rooms, pleasant atmosphere and beautiful women wait on you. read more

Really large store, packed full of stuff. They have a whole wing full of furniture, with lots to choose from. I was looking for a DIY project and walked out with a nice little nightstand for $14. A staff member even helped load it in my car! read more

There is a pretty good selection of clothes, knick-knacks and furniture, although some items are overpriced. The three things that disappointed me were that there is only ONE poorly-lit dressing room with a dirty floor, no bench and one hook to hang things on; the clothing did not seem to be organized by size; and the check-out line was very slow. I'll go back eventually but I'm not sure it's worth making a special trip. read more

We'll where do I start.. I love this store I always find great stuff for bargains... I'm getting married May of next year and I was able to find a lot of things for the home we are purchasing. I found a fairly new Sumbeam mixer, a new Crockpot, some clothes for myself, and my fiance and some even had the tags still on them....
