Bought a 2017 Subaru WRX for my sons first car back in March of 2026. Sold it with nearly bald tires and refused to replace them. Now not even 3 mknths later his AC compressor has failed on the first time ever being used (it was 90° out the day it happened). Called the dealership back and explained the situation and said they wont commit to anything and I should call service to habe them repair since its past 30 days. This is my first time dealing with them as a dealer and I must say Im appauled that they dont stand behind their vehicles. They insisted when I bought this the car was in mint shape and would need nothing since they shpposedly went through it top to bottom. Buyer beware, these vehicles are not as they seem and their reputation does not match the service. I will never buy here again. I called and asked if they had a car on their lot so I could come and test drive it later that day. The sales person, Crystal, said it was available to come see and we set up an appointment. I drove up two hours to the location. A salesman walks out, and offers to help us out - but is confused, as the car is in the sold section. It turned out that Crystal had left, and there was no record of an appointment made for us. After more confusion and waiting, the manager had to come out and apologize because the car was sold. He said that Crystal did not check to see if the car was available. This was very frustrating as we wasted 4 hours of our time that day driving to see this car, and the sales person did not do a simple check, just blindly assured us. I do not know why she did not write us in, or why she left either, as she said she would be right at her desk to see us. I would never do business with this dealership because they wasted so much of our time due to a salesperson's incompetence. Ultimately the manager was apologetic and I know it is not his fault. I could not believe the wasted time due to Crystal; it was not a good experience. I will also say that it is sleazy that that car continues to be listed as available on their website and third party listings. Stay away, almost 3 hrs to do an oil change that costs more than it should. These guys take forever. Scheduled an appointment, they had slots open all afternoon. Show up 45 minutes early, no dice. For whatever reason even with appointments they still failed to deliver car upon agreed time. This is an issue with management and work loads. Can't speak for the rest of the dealership they seem just as "normal" as the rest. For service, stay away. read more

I haven't been writing as much for reviews lately. It's been a little difficult because of work, and just in general after what I went through with my car back in August. Having lost a personal vehicle, it was a hunt looking for the best deal. It was a challenge, looking far and wide. I found a great deal on a 2013 Toyota Camry. What I did appreciate was the prices. The salesman was up front and honest, there is no haggle on the vehicles. Because of the internet age, customers shop around to find the best deal. He even commented that they aggressively price their vehicles to compete. The part that I hate about car shopping is; you know there is in a sense, an upcharge, and you negotiate because the dealer hopes you will pay full price. I hate haggling. Just give me a fair, honest price. If I don't like it then yeah I'll go elsewhere. After seeing what was available on the market, and researching the value of the vehicle, it was a fair price. What was also greatly appreciated was the loan guy working with me. I came with a certain amount, and needed a low monthly payment. The monthly payment I was looking for was rejected by conpanies, because they would make too little on interest. So he played with figures, and I got an extended warrenty, and in the end a monthly payment I was happy with. Overall, I am sonewhat satisfied with my experience. However there were a couple of things that irked me. However I felt a little pressured with the purchase, having to try to get in touch with my spouse to discuss the said purchase. When I said that I wished to return the next day (after not being able to get in touch with her), the comment "well we sell 10 cars a day, so it might not be available for long." And "we really want to make this happen today." I was a little annoyed, but being in a position of needing a car to get to work I went along with it. The other annoyance was the car not being cleaned. The flags were still in the backseat when I picked it up! Of course, I can always clean it. But after having purchased the vehicle, and driving it home, I was further irritated to find that the registration was not in the car. So to take time out of my day to go to the RMV to pay for a new copy (after paying for the vehicle) soured the experience for me. Since especially the registration is needed to get the MA inspection sticker. Being as I live in the North Shore, it's not worth the drive back to Manchester. Worst experience ever. I had made an appointment at this dealership because of the recall that was made for my Subaru Impreza. I called to make an appointment and they couldn't book it for 1.5 months from that point. So I made the appointment because it was something that needed to get done. I took my car in at the end of March and didn't get it back until THE FIRST WEEK OF MAY. I was told the repair would take 2 weeks. Well they were sadly mistaken. My car was in the shop for 2 days and they called me saying they wanted to buy my car. They said I would get a great deal and I would end up getting a newer, better and bigger model then what I own currently. The deal was NOT good, they were only trying to screw me over and buy my car for less then it was worth then probably turn it around to sell to someone else for super expensive. I called at the 2 week point and they said it would take at least another 2 weeks to finish. I was leaving 3 days after this call to go out of the country for the Easter holiday. They said it was because one of their certified technicians was unable to complete the job. It wasn't until I arrived back from my vacation that I did not receive a call my car was done so I had to call them. My car was done but they began to name off all these things wrong with it. $400 here, $1,000 there. Pretty soon it all came to $4.000 of repairs. So I said do not do anything to my car, I will come pick it up and get a second opinion. When I went to pick up my car and as I was driving home, my brakes were making the worst noise I have ever heard. It made me scared and uncomfortable to drive. But there was no way I was taking my car back there so I called my normal mechanic I always go to and he said to bring it right to him. He checked over my car and at the end of the day, he said my breaks needed to be replaced. and that WAS IT. Less then $1,000 compared to $4,000 which is what Subaru wanted me to fork out for unnecessary repairs. Now, when I dropped my car off, the breaks were NOT making that noise and they WERE in good shape. The car sat for over a month for absolutely NO reason at all. Never EVER going to these people again. They were so rude on the phone, did not call me when my car was ready and they took advantage of the fact that my car was in there for a simple recall in a valve that they took that chance to hit me with every repair possible when all this car needed were some new breaks. (which seemed to be perfectly fine when I dropped my car off). DO NOT GO HERE. read more

I had a baffling experience here in May. I felt like they didn't want me as a customer from the second I called. I wanted to buy a Forester but was deciding between a 2012 and 2015 model. I called and e-mailed in advance and told the rep I would be in that evening when he said they were "unfortunately" open until 8:00. The rep repeated his sentiment about the hours 2 additional times in our presence. I even said "Sorry, but it's nice for people like us who work till 5 and live far away". They were very disorganized. We waited a long time for them to find the keys to the 2012 and they didn't want us to try the 2015 in the meantime. When we eventually were able to go, we loved it and appreciated not having to be "baby-sat" through the test drive process. They had delays getting keys for the 2015 too but we took the test drive and loved it more! I came back with a smile on my face and I said so. I was ready to talk numbers - they were not! Not only had no one looked at my car to give me a quote on trade-in value, but they weren't available to give me quotes on the vehicle either. I actually walked out, (dumbfounded), with a promise that I would get a quote e-mailed to me that night. It didn't happen. The next day, I e-mailed to follow up and got a voicemail from the boss telling me I should call him to "close the deal". Huh? They couldn't even give me a price. So, I went elsewhere. I got a quote the third day via e-mail. It was a little higher, the dealership fee was higher, and the trade-in value was $500 lower than my lowest quote from another dealership and $1500k less than I ended up getting from Grappone as a sale. In response to Todd: It was 3 months ago on May 23. I know the sales rep's name but this isn't intended to get any particular person in trouble. I got there around 5:30 or 6 that day and felt like that was ample time to test 2 cars and discuss them. If someone had a commitment that they needed to get to, I would have understood that. I was here for the first time in July and needed my rear brakes replaced. The people in the service department were amazing. I was impressed that they didn't keep trying to sell me parts and service that I did not need. I'm writing this review now because I'm back here again for another issue with my Forrester. As before, they got me right in without a headache or hassle to evaluate my car. Front brakes this time. While they had the car in service, they noticed I had a tail light out. They offered me their tail light at a dealer price. I knew I had a spare tail light bulb somewhere. They offered to check the glove box in case it might be there. It was. They then offered to do to replace the tail light as a courtesy. That is great service. Prime service department could've added a labor charge to my bill but did not. It's now July 18th and the finance company doesn't even have the information to issue a title to register the car. These guys say they have the lowest prices around then when you get in and try and haggle the price the managers are complete dicks and belittle you. I went to all the subaru dealers I could in MA, NH, and MAINE. and the one that had the BEST Prices and Friendliest staff was METROWEST SUBARU in NATICK MA If anyone is looking for a car let me know and I could even refer you there for even more of a discount! Used them for my lease for a 2019 forester - they did not inspect or clean the car at the time of delivery (there was a screw driver left in the dash, a large scratch on the center shifter, and a sticky stain also left on the shifter). The service department was slow to repair the scratch - initially asking me to pay for the labor to replace the center component. And the service manager has been very curt with me on the phone with scheduling service appointments. Do not recommend. I highly regret using this dealer. Find somewhere else. read more

When we sat down to hash out prices and our search criteria Burt assured us how "laid-back" he was by telling us the dealership calls another employee (a man of color) 'Half & Half' and we interrupted him before he told us what they call his Asian coworker. The sales manager talked exclusively to me although we were from the start clear my wife was the customer and I was just tagging along. She arrived and the guy showed her a paper and she, being young and inexperienced, did not understand what the paper was for and signed. He just upgraded her oil change to a $600 service!. When I called Dan said a lot of uhuh and ummm and blamed it on my daughter. When I told him what she called for he said the people who make the appointment don't communicate what needs to be done. I went to Manchester Subaru to trade my old vehicle and get into a new car. That did indeed happen, and the staff there were able to expedite the process. However, faster doesn't always mean better. Within three days of my purchase I was receiving calls that the payout on my old car loan was "short" and that somebody had made an error in the payout amount from the bank, so they needed more money from me. I had contacted the bank directly during the negotiation and received a 10-day payout amount over the phone which I stated verbally to the salesman and sales manager and also wrote down on paper for them. Well, somebody put down a 2 instead of a 7. Oops. We came to an agreement and I went to get the car registered. I came back from the registry pretty heated, because it turned out I had never been presented with the Certificate of Origin for the vehicle I just purchased. Manchester Subaru drove the CO to me that night, but it still took another trip to the registry to get things sorted out. I can't say I would seriously recommend this dealership to anyone I care about. read more

I got a car here this weekend, and was quite pleased with the process. They let us take the car out on our own for the test ride, which the Honda place we'd gone to early that day hadn't. They were super low pressure, but happy to answer any questions we had. I found a sliiightly lower price at another dealer that was annoyingly far away, and the guys here were able to match it. They even dropped off my car at my house the next day (because I bought it on a Sunday, the service department and my insurance company were closed so it couldn't get inspected or insured until Monday (poor move on their part - there was a huge accident on the highway and the poor guys dropping it off got stuck in traffic for ages)). If you are car shopping with a friend, be sure to arrive in one car as their parking lot is ridiculously packed with SO MANY CARS. I bought my 2015 Subaru from Manchester Subaru (now Prime Subaru) and purchased an oil change program at the time. Most recently, 10/23/18, took my Forester in for a 48,000 mile appt. I paid the bill, and left. Usually I put my preferred windshield washer fluid in my car, and hadn't done so before dropping off the vehicle, so as I was leaving the dealership I decided to check that it had been filled. I should mention that the paperwork I signed stated that a complete multi-point inspection, topping off of fluids, and checking tire pressure had been done. I popped the hood and noticed that the fluids hadn't been topped off (took pics for proof). This made me wonder what else hadn't been done. The next day, I had scheduled an appt with a reputable tire company to place new tires on the vehicle. They confirmed that the air pressure in the tires was incorrect before they removed the old tires (per my request). The driver's side (front & rear) were set at 33, and the passenger's side (front & rear) were set at 29. Clearly, the Prime Subaru Service Dept. had not checked them. My trust and confidence in this dealership is shot - feeling very compelled to submit this negative review. Don't waste your time going to this dealership! read more

Our buying experience was the best we've EVER had. We got F-ed major from AutoFair and were trapped with astronomical payments, warranty issues, and owing well over double what our used vehicle was worth. No one would work with us except Manchester Subaru. Our first two trips here (just for shopping) were terrible. Nico didn't know anything and even told us "there's no way to see the mpg's because Subaru doesn't have that feature". Ouch. Gary didn't even tell us his name until 10 mins in and we had to ask several times. Trip 3 was when we met Steve Silva and he was phenomenal! I bought my Subaru at subPrime Subaru Manchester back in 2015 and even though I've since paid off my vehicle somehow I will never be able to leave behind the fake fees, pressuring mechanics, and deceiving sales reps that embody this faulty organization. It wasn't like I had high expectations. I was very much cognoscente that when I signed my four-year loan with a sales guy that had hot sauce dripping from his mustache onto his crinkled fifteen-year-old golf polo that I was settling. I didn't want to formulate a long-standing partnership with any dealer, but what choice did I have, I didn't have any money, and I needed some form of affordable transportation, so I jumped in with the closest dealer in town. Little did I know that summer afternoon within the confines of Manchester Subi's steamy financing office, when my sweaty fingertips clutched the over-chewed ballpoint pen and I signed that loan that I didn't just sign up for a wonderful life with a reliable AWD Subaru Impreza, I was setting myself up for continued nuances from its point of origin. See below. -Incorrect financing. Always read your paperwork, my friends. -Faulty service. The mechanic notified me that my fluids were topped off and my tire pressure was filled only for me to get home to find my coolant empty and that my tires needed a nice old fashion filling. -Lost loyalty. When I stood on the altar and I heard that I will always have free oil changes and inspections as long as I was in Manchester Subi's life. That loyalty, that sense of financial relief, it all felt so promising for the future, only to be revoked two years later. -Fake inspection diagnostics. The Subaru mechanic lied about issues relating to my vehicle, and while the rep tried to force my hand in paying for these fake problems that totaled out to a clean $1600. I brought this to my personal mechanic and he quickly notified me that the majority of these issues were non-existent. All I needed was a new sway bar end link, which cost me $100 and I brought the car back to my loving Manchester Subaru to get reassessed and sure enough, I passed. Talk about shady. -Mean people. Bad service in general. -Terrible snacks. I lost my job due to Coronavirus so I'm already slightly angered by the worlds current state, but I'm a rational human being I'm not writing this review due to feelings of rage, I'm writing this because I'm passive-aggressive and now have more time on my hands than I've ever had in my life.
