This last time today my husband went in to shop around 11:50am and was immediately approached by security asking to see his bag (book bag on his back). One of the cashiers alerted the security based on my husband appearance and he is a regular customer. My husband felt upset, embarrassed and profiled at his own neighborhood grocery. My husband still made his purchase and left the store. This grocery was walking distance to my home. I have worked in retail for over 7 years and at no point is it ok to treat customers that way just because they look a certain way and carry a bag with them. I will no longer spend money there and hopes other customers will be treated better.

They carry pre-packaged injera…read more(also imported teff injera), kocho, gesho, coffee serving sets, international phone cards etc. Admas took over the space where Periyar had been located (and kept the same phone number), and they still carry some of the same items (such as Shan curry mixes, large bags of rice, pickled mango etc.). Staff was friendly and helpful when I visited.
