The restaurant has a nice ambiance, and our server was friendly and very attentive. I ordered a margarita made with a smooth vodka (off-menu), which was good and came with $18 charge. After struggling to finish meals in Puerto Rico and growing tired of the region's heavy focus on deep-fried seafood and meat (both great at other restaurants but not quite to our preference after 4 days), my child and I opted for lighter options: salad and octopus. The wedge salad was fresh, generously portioned, and refreshing, though it could have used more dressing. The octopus dish was beautifully presented, perfectly seared, and paired with a delightful sauce and butter flowers. We also shared the chef's risotto (with Parmesan flavor) and Brussels sprouts. Both were well-prepared and flavorful. One thing to note is the pricing in PR. Taxes add up quickly, and at the resort, tips are automatically included in the bill, so it's something to keep in mind.

Decent selection, place is situated next to Nori Asian. Decor is beautiful. Service was good. They had no dry aged steaks as they were not ready. The risotto was very good. And the banana bread pudding was excellent.

Great service with great recommendations. Started with Margarita and hand shaken frose'. Delicious filet, garlic mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, Maui Maui with forbidden(black) risotto and Parmesan risotto. Ended with delicious brookie dessert. A very nice relaxing dinner.

We ate here during our stay at the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. We both had steaks that were cooked to order and the sides and starters were equally delicious. The martini bar that connects to the restaurant is so pretty and has great cocktails. The side dishes could use a bit more flavor, but overall, they were good.

Service was really slow. Party of 4 sat down at 7:15p didn't get food until 8:35p. Food was mediocre and cold.

So we decided to try it. We called ahead and made the reservation for 8. We were going to eat here Tuesday but they were closed. We got all dressed up and when we arrived we were seated by the host. He helped me in my seat and handed us our menus. The waitress was with us right away, took our drinks, and brought them right back with bread after waiting on her other tables. She took our orders and it didn't take long at all for the food to come out. We got the alfredo. One with chicken and one with shrimp. We also got an order of homemade fries. The fries took a little longer than our entrée but it wasn't a big deal. We had a lot of food on our plate. It was really good. And we were stuffed to the point we couldn't move. I felt like every review I read was filled with people mad at the resort. We had a great experience. Plus it was by far the nicest restaurant in the area.

While it wasn't "cheap", for a quality steak house dinner with a highly attentive wait staff, it was well worth it. I'd expect to spend alot more on a restaurant of this quality in the US. We do travel with a wheelchair. The server was very good and well knowledgeable on the menu. He was even photographed in the menu. We ordered a couple cocktails as well as many appetizers. We didn't order any entrees, as our family likes to try many things. My wife's favorite is ceviche and she was impressed by this dish. (Order it) We also ordered fish bites. Solid choice as the guava sauce was memorable. La arepas de coconut. Solid. The fish empanadas were great. Definitely order those. But calamari was chewy and overcooked. I'd pass on this. Cocktails were amazing. Spicy margarita is spicy!! I had a mojito which was delicious. You won't go wrong with any cocktail. Server was great. He did mention to me that we should order soon as the kitchen will get busy. We waited as we were enjoying our dinner. (We didn't have any problems) I'd go back. I'd also suggest sticking to your plan. It's your evening and don't let service control the experience. At the end of it...you control the tip = thank you.

I also tried the coconut mojito on the rocks, which was a standout: refreshing, well-balanced, and served with fruit (strawberry, cherry, and blueberries) mixed in. There's plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors; we opted to sit outside since the AC inside was a bit too cold. Definitely worth checking out for a relaxed meal and solid cocktails.

We were able to snag a reservation but for a late time which was about an hour and a half before close. The service was super great but one thing I wished they mentioned that the bottled water was going to be a $40 charge lol. Makes sense for any upscale restaurant though. Should've mentioned we wanted tap so fair warning, ask cause you WILL get charged haha. We had a group of 10 and for how big the group was, the food came out pretty fast. I don't think we ever had a time between drinks to entrees where we were waiting for food to come out. We got the watermelons mojito for drinks since it was the most raved about. It was good but personally nothing crazy for me. 8/10 score on that. We also curry popcorn chicken, the ahi tuna lollipops, the empanadillas and the goat cheese quesadillas for apps and honestly overall 9/10. This is where I don't like the sweetness part of this meal. The empanadillas were what I was most excited for but it was more sweet then savory which sort of lose my appetite a little. I think if you like that kind of taste then it's going to be good. It wasn't a bad taste at all. Just too sweet for my liking. The curry popcorn chicken was good and the lollipops were great. Again, nothing crazy. The goat cheese quesadillas was good as well but again, too sweet for my liking. Now on to the entree, they didn't have the porkchop since we came late so I ended up getting the porkchop belly dish. When it came out, it looked amazing but then I got a whiff of it and smelled cinnamon. That's when I was sort of disappointed. It was like eating pork but tasting Cinnamon Toast Crunch and as said before, it tasted great but too sweet for me. This one was way too sweet to where it seemed like a dessert item. I just had poor luck and got one of the one items that were sweet. This doesn't tank the rating down whatsoever because I also should've read it had cinnamon. It would've been great if they made a dipping sauce or something to pair it with and not have it on the pork belly itself. I got to try other dishes my friends got which were good as well but I wish I got to try something else. If I came back I would try the sold out item which was the pork shank or the sea bass. I know for a fact the sea bass was amazing. Had a bite of it and thought "I'll come back for that" Overall, 10/10 experience and nothing bad about the place but gotta try different items when I go next time. I understand the hype now

Out of all the restaurants I visited in Puerto Rico, my friends and I came to the agreement that this was definitely the best one, and I can't believe we almost didn't come! To start off, the staff is super nice and made us feel welcome. I may be biased because one of them complimented my "gracias" (lol) but they were accommodating and patient as we had a hard time deciding what we wanted to order, since everything looked so good! The pinchos de atun was a must-try since everyone online was talking about that dish in particular, and it was AMAZING. The tuna is so fresh and complimented so well by the sauce and the rice cracker. The ceasar salad was flavorful and a great addition, since we didn't have much veggies at that point in our trip. And the sea bass!! SO tender and delicious. We also got the perfect lady cocktail and the guava & cheese bread pudding, and both were perfectly sweet and balanced out the rest of the meal. Everything about this place was amazing. The inside of the restaurant is very pretty and it's located near La Placita, so easily accessible to the nightlife if you want to party afterward. I will definitely be recommending Santaella to all my friends and coming back if I visit San Juan again.

This meant the bartender David was our server who was SO incredible. He was professional, incredibly efficient, kind, patient, gave us tips about the area, and made great dinner recommendations. He never let our water get below halfway full which I truly value too. Now onto the food - we shared the caesar salad, vodka pasta with chicken, and guavanoli. What a treat!!!! The caesar was large and fresh. The vodka sauce was more tomato based rather than loaded with heavy cream, which made it fresh and flavorful rather than super heavy which we enjoyed. Now the star of the show - the Guavanoli - a chicken stuffed crepe topped with mozzarella and guava sauce. David said tourists usually stay away from this because it sounds so different but it's the locals favorite. I can attest this has been one of our favorite meals of the entire trip, and we agreed the guavanoli was one of the most delicious yet unique entrees we've ever had. We're here for 2 more days and want to come back to get it again. The crepe wrapping essentially tastes like an enchilada, and the guava sauce is NOT too sweet. It's mixed with a red wine reduction so it has a slightly sweet edge to it, but is 1000% perfect with the dish and delicious. The prices are on the higher size but the portions are large and totally justify it. With the 2 of us, we ended up having a very decent amount of the vodka pasta as leftovers to take back to the hotel. We didn't order drinks, but David was whipping up incredible looking cocktails! They also have really cool hand-painted large portraits around the room. Beautiful restaurant, amazing staff, and even better food!!
