From the 10 yo: The staff was nice and the food was good I recommend the Pasta. The downside is not a lot of space. From the adults: the food was fantastic. The tomahawk was melt in your mouth great, the salmon was nicely done, and the veggies and mashed potatoes were excellent. Presentation was excellent. Staff is very friendly. Would highly recommend.

Great service! Not to mention the food. It's a very private, romantic place to come. Staff is very friendly and welcoming.

Absolute GEM of a restaurant and let me tell you, I am an absolute snob for Italian food. My…read moreboyfriend and I arrived around 7:30pm on a busy Saturday night and were lucky enough to grab the 2 open seats at the bar because there was a wait for a table. This meant the bartender David was our server who was SO incredible. He was professional, incredibly efficient, kind, patient, gave us tips about the area, and made great dinner recommendations. He never let our water get below halfway full which I truly value too. Now onto the food - we shared the caesar salad, vodka pasta with chicken, and guavanoli. What a treat!!!! The caesar was large and fresh. The vodka sauce was more tomato based rather than loaded with heavy cream, which made it fresh and flavorful rather than super heavy which we enjoyed. Now the star of the show - the Guavanoli - a chicken stuffed crepe topped with mozzarella and guava sauce. David said tourists usually stay away from this because it sounds so different but it's the locals favorite. I can attest this has been one of our favorite meals of the entire trip, and we agreed the guavanoli was one of the most delicious yet unique entrees we've ever had. We're here for 2 more days and want to come back to get it again. The crepe wrapping essentially tastes like an enchilada, and the guava sauce is NOT too sweet. It's mixed with a red wine reduction so it has a slightly sweet edge to it, but is 1000% perfect with the dish and delicious. The prices are on the higher size but the portions are large and totally justify it. With the 2 of us, we ended up having a very decent amount of the vodka pasta as leftovers to take back to the hotel. We didn't order drinks, but David was whipping up incredible looking cocktails! They also have really cool hand-painted large portraits around the room. Beautiful restaurant, amazing staff, and even better food!!

From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly patient, attentive, and accommodating. Managing a party of our size is no small task, but they handled everything seamlessly and made us feel welcome and well taken care of. We never felt rushed, which allowed us to relax and fully enjoy this special occasion. The food was outstanding, every single person in our party loved their meal. From appetizers to desserts, everything was flavorful, perfectly prepared, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant were truly 10/10. It was the perfect setting for a memorable celebration. Thank you to the entire team at El Asador for helping make our anniversary so special. As for the actual food, the fish was great, the tacos had almost no toppings other than overwhelming hot sauce, no toppings for the baked potato but it was cooked very well. Overall, middle of the road experience, could've been a lot better there's lots of room for improvement Also had to pay for bottle of water, wasn't aware of that up front. Not sure if you can ask for tap or not.

After a bit of struggle looking for a decent place to dine on a Sunday evening in San Juan (most…read moretop places we had earmarked were closed due to it being a Sunday), we stumbled into Santisimo. Situated in an old, historic hotel, you're immediately greeted by a special vibe as you enter under a tall arched gate into a balcony-esq dining area overlooking the hotel corridors on one side and a bar with turquoise sponge-painted wall on the other. We were informed that they had a seat for two but somehow the young man at the entryway tried to sit us at the bar, but speaking to the waitress, we were able to grab a seat in the main dining area. I mean, it wasn't even full - but we were told that reservations are going to be coming in. We had the burrata salad (a running theme by now in P.R. - we were gasping for non-deep fried and fresh vegetables since the whole island seemed to have come deep-fried), tuna tartare, and a grilled pulpo over potato with tomato sauce appetizers. One note: Since Puerto Rico is a US territory, it does share a lot in common with US, such as portion sizes. We learned the hard way during lunch that portions are HUGE and priced high so that tourists cough up more money. That's why we ordered 3 appetizers here for dinner. Burrata was a welcome change with some greens that we sorely needed, but unfortunately there were many wilted red leaf lettuce leaves in there so we had to send it back to have it re-made. Once back though, we enjoyed the lightly creamy burrata on a bed of bitter arugula, sweet cherry tomatoes and balsamic glaze. It reminded me of the salad I make everyday at home, LOL, minus the burrata. Tuna tartare was nothing to write home about and the toasted mini baguettes were a bit too brittle and old. Rosemary sprigs on top really didn't add anything to the taste and were old as well, so ended up being more of a nuisance. The octopus was pretty juicy and good, though nothing like the real leg of grilled octopus. I enjoyed the combination of flavorful potato mash, sharp vinegary red onion slices, and the briny bites of octopus. As we were eating, the place became comfortably packed and people seemed to be enjoying themselves here. It definitely had that underground hideout / secret bar vibe - a lady just needed to wear a feathered hat and smoked long pipe cigarette to complete that 1940s movie look. But overall, we were not too impressed with the food - there were definitely better options available in the area. Don't get me wrong - it wasn't BAD and I think it might still be worth it if you want a good vibe and decent food in San Juan... but if you had other choices that are open, look there first.

We were a group of 12, hence finding a restaurant that would accommodate us was difficult. Thankfully, Bayside was able to do so. Since we were interested in seeing the ships and see if we could board some of them, we skipped the appetizers and went straight to the main course... and drinks of course. Unfortunately, our food took about an hour and a half to arrive, maybe more. When it finally arrived, I noticed they left off the bacon from my bacon cheeseburger. I was too hungry so I let it go. I thought I'd just ask the waitress to take it off the bill. Coincidentally, my wife's order also had mistakes. She ordered sautéed onion for her burger. Instead, she got onion rings. She did let the waitress know, who went and got the onions. When the bill arrived, I noticed the bacon was not on it. It seems she forgot to write it down. However, she did include the onion rings my wife never ordered. We decided not to complain because the group was ready to leave and it was already dark out. When we reached the ships, they had already closed the gates. Bummer. The burgers were good, not great, and they did accommodate our large group, so I'll give them that. They also had a very good IPA from Definitive Brewing Co. (Portland,OR).

We were dragged here by family who live in San Juan because it's "kid friendly" and on the marina. The view of the marina was, I'll admit, spectacular- but the view from the bridge is the same and you don't risk contracting a serious disease like you do at sizzler. The view is the 1 star on this review. Where to start? Well, the buffet for adults is $18 off the rip. The place is. Absolutely. Completely. Unbelievably FILTHY. Wet floors. Dirty utensils. Sticky tables. Filthy "sneeze guards." The bathrooms- listen I've spent time in a literal JAIL with a cleaner place to relieve myself. On top of that- there are bugs (both flying and crawling) throughout this hell hole. The food was what may be described as "summer camp run by sadists with a mission statement to cause the spread of food borne illnesses and a non-zero chance at death." Food left for hours (days?) under the lamps so that everything that didn't look like diarrhea covered in vomit simply looked like various kinds of roadkill jerky. Anything that was in a mostly liquid state of matter had a tough skin over it from the "gravy" to what I believe was supposed to be broccoli cheese soup but bore a concerning resemblance to stadium nacho cheese that had been left on the sidewalk for a week or two. The salad bar items, "desserts" and "hot foods" were all the same temperature- somewhere between room temp and Petri dish incubator. I'm frankly shocked that this place is able to operate and hasn't been shut down. The only bright spot is I think I made a new friend or two- I think I have a tape worm.
