Arriving early doesn't help either, as we're made to wait or even turned away. What's worse is not being told in advance that our child will be seen by a nurse practitioner instead of the doctor. That kind of information should be shared upfront. Overall, the lack of flexibility and empathy makes this a very difficult place for parents. I hope they consider being more understanding toward families in stressful situations.

In addition, she was quite transparent in regards to other items such as overuse of antibiotics, midwifery (as it relates to home births) and her staunch defense of the high rate of c-sections in this area.
