My review is not based upon treatment I received while I was under the care of any of the doctors or PAs associated with this facility. I have been a patient for 5 plus years. I always received good treatment and advice from my PA. My rating is based on my dissatisfaction of the delay in being told that my health insurance is no longer accepted by the doctor. A year ago my doctor retired and I was assigned to a new doctor who was awaiting certification in Ma, I was led to believe that when the process was complete my insurance would be accepted as it always has been. Yesterday I was informed that my doctor does not accept my insurance and I would have to find a new doctor. That was 2 days before my annual physical and 2 weeks after the open period for insurance closed. I then went on my insurance company's website and found out that another doctor in the office does accept the insurance. When I called to inquire about the doctor accepting new patients I was told it would depend upon the type of medications I was on and on my insurance. When I told the receptionist the type of insurance, she responded that the doctor does not accept the insurance. The information needs to be updated with the insurance company if that is the case. My chief complaint is why no one provided me the information about my insurance not being accepted by the doctor prior to yesterday. I should have been notified of that at the time the annotation was made in my records. I could have then made a decision regarding my insurance during the open period. I am now without a doctor and due a physical. I understand I can find a doctor and I made the attempt and was told they will mail me the paperwork and once I complete it and mail it back in they will review it and my medical records. Until that process is complete I have no doctor. Thank you Somerset Prima Care for caring so much read more
