Hip Still Not Right - Need a Hip Replacement Revision…read more I had an anterior hip replacement with Dr. Andrew Porter. I am 56 years old and average weight. I had arthritis in my hip joints, thanks to genetics, and needed my hip replaced. Surgery with Dr. Porter went as planned, so I thought... Shortly after surgery, I noticed something was off. I had had my other hip replaced 7 years ago, so I was familiar with the recovery process. Unfortunately, my hip was painfully popping out of the socket and back in. I kept going to Dr. Porter telling him something wasn't right. Dr. Porter said I needed to continue with physical therapy, which I did. It is still no better after 5 months of therapy, and my range of motion is very limited. Dr. Porter told me a revision would also limit my range of motion and be more invasive than the first surgery. He basically tried to talk me out of fixing my hip. I can't live like this. I can't even walk properly. Needless to say. I never went back. Do not let the pain rush you into surgery. I should have waited for a more experienced surgeon.

I had a mild case of Covid in February but had long hauler symptoms of not being able to get enough air into my lungs. Felt like I was suffocating. I had chest palpitations, shortness or breath and extreme muscle weakness. I started my PT with Emily. My RHR was 158 with O2 between 94-96%. After a few short weeks of multiple days a weeks I was able to breathe normally without issues. My O2 got back up to 99% and my RHR was below 70. My muscle weakness improved tremendously now that I can get oxygen to my muscles. I am able to enjoy bike riding and 2-3 mile hikes without effort. HIGHLY recommend PPT if you have Covid related issues Thank you for getting my life back on track

Where do I start? Dr. Brendan Boyle has been very helpful…read moregetting me back prior to my injury. He always asks how I am doing and any changes have occurred since the last visit. He is willing to get in-depth about what is going on whether it's a present pain or the reason why a certain stretch or exercise could/would be favorable. He treats me and others there like human being and not like just another Pt. ES Amanda Stors shares the same philosophies in the caring of myself and others that are there to get back on the road to recovery. She, as does Brendan, will take time just to briefly chat about things that are not directly to do with the reason why you are there. These are the two staff I have the most contact with but I must say that all the faculty share the same ideal. I highly recommend Performance Physical Therapy in Attleboro. Jim H.

Most recently Adam and Todd worked with me to relieve shoulder pain that was greatly affecting my daily life. Going in I thought that I would very likely need surgery to relieve the pain which I had been experiencing for more than a year and was impacting my daily life. Through well planned out, patient and steady therapy laid out by Todd and administered by Adam, I slowly but steadily saw improvement to the point that I am no longer hampered by shoulder pain during normal activity. I am also able to play hockey and pickle ball again without restriction. I would recommend Houghton Physical Therapy to anyone that wants to work with a professional group of therapists who provide excellent results in a friendly and accommodating atmosphere.

Of course, now things are different because of the Coronavirus. I'm not able to visit with my mom and I miss her very much. However, the therapeutic activities staff decided to facilitate virtual visits for the families and their loved ones living at Madonna Manor. I did get to visit with my mom through FaceTime and it truly meant a lot to me!

OR if you're looking…read morefor something similar for your loved one, Madonna Manor is NOT what you should put your thousands of dollars in to. I had a close family member live here for almost 10 years, and the respect, care, and attention given to her was never there. My loved one was in situations where she fell and was hurt, and after pushing or pulling her emergency button/string, she would have to wait for a minimum of 2 1/2 hours before someone would check on her. I know this to be true, because I have pushed it myself, and it took them that long to respond. I was told by her that they would forget her meals, which is a huge concern because she had health issues that made eating a priority for her to be okay. Also, they shouldn't be forgetting anyone's meals...but every time I would complain or say something to an employee, they would reassure me they would take care of it, and then I would find out they never did. Her safety was always a concern for me because she was never in good hands that actually cared. After she passed I found a list she made of the days they forgot to bring her meals, and she stopped keeping track after a year of starting it. She would ask for help with small things every so often too. The employees would often say they would help, leave, and not return. They made her feel like a burden while living there. Her experience living at Madonna Manor breaks my heart because I know she deserved better, considering how much she was paying per month. Madonna Manor has different levels of care. I was told per their contract; they do evaluations to see if they need to go up a level. Going up a level means they would get more help with their daily tasks and the employees and nurses would be more hands on with her. I know she needed to go up a level, if not levels. She could not take care of herself. She was barely able to walk or get up. She couldnt read because her vision was going, and that affected her medicine intake. She was not able to bathe herself either and needed that help. I could see her quality of life starting to fade because of all of this. Once again, when i brought this to their attention, i was told they would take a look when they do their next evaluation. They NEVER upgraded her care. Madonna Manor kept her at Level 1, and failed her. When she passed and I went to her room to collect her things, I could tell where she died because they did not clean up. It was horrific and upsetting. We had to call multiple times about it too. They have no respect for the people living here, or their families. Madonna Manor does not deserve a 1 star rating, or your money.
