Prime Cantina deserves recognition not just as a restaurant, but as a true pillar of the Palisades community, especially in the aftermath of the evacuation. In moments when everything feels uncertain, it becomes very clear which businesses genuinely care about the people around them. Prime Cantina stepped up in a way that went far beyond food and service. They showed up with consistency, warmth, and generosity when the community needed it most. After the evacuation, Prime Cantina became a place of comfort and familiarity. A space where neighbors could reconnect, check in on one another, and feel a sense of normalcy again. The staff welcomed everyone with kindness, patience, and empathy. You could feel that this was not business as usual. This was about community. The team handled everything with grace. From the moment you walk in, there is a feeling of being taken care of. The staff is attentive, calm, and genuinely happy to be there for their customers. No rushed energy, no stress passed along. Just solid, thoughtful service. The food continues to be excellent, which says a lot given the circumstances. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and made with care. It is comforting food done right, and it hits differently when you know it is coming from a place that truly cares about the people they serve. What stood out most to me was how intentional Prime Cantina has been about supporting locals. This is a business that understands its role in the neighborhood and takes that responsibility seriously. They supported the community not because they had to, but because it is clearly who they are. Places like this are why Yelp exists. Not just to highlight great food, but to spotlight businesses that show up when it matters most. Prime Cantina is the kind of establishment you want to support, recommend, and return to again and again. If you are looking for a place that delivers quality, consistency, and heart, Prime Cantina is it. Their support during a difficult time will not be forgotten, and they have earned lifelong customers because of

Prima Burrito with Carnitas, beans, rice, guacamole...soooo delicious! A must have in Palisades.

Service is always great whether dining in or taking out. A previous gem of a restaurant in this little community doing its best to rebuild and reunite. Whether you're in the OC, LA, or IE take a trip to our neighboring community for some tasty treats, and show some Community Support. North of Orange County, and to the west of Los Angeles, it's a beautiful coastal drive past Huntington, Long Beach, Redondo, Hermosa, Manhattan, Venice, and Santa Monica on up to Temescal Canyon Rd. What's even better, if you can't decide between Mexican or Italian, you're all set as they offer both!

We walked in here after our hike and to our surprise there was a 50% Happy Hour menu that blew us away! What great service, ambiance and food! Absolutely delicious! The Happy Hour menus started at 5-6 and it really was well worth the price.

It was okay. We were going to go to Cafe Vida, yet walked by here and thought we'd try it for the first time. I liked the free chips and salsa. The chips were thicker than usual, so they may have been store bought versus made fresh on premises. The service did its job, but definitely not overly friendly or warm. When we left, the servers clearly saw us walking out and didn't utter a word of "Thank you" or "Have a good night!" My margarita was tasty. My salad was bland and the cook forgot to put dressing on the salad. I asked for dressing, and even with the dressing it wasn't very flavorful. I added shrimp, so I don't feel like it was worth the $22 price tag. The ambiance is cute, cozy, and small. It was just okay, I'm not sure I'd go back.

We stumbled upon this restaurant and decided to try it since it looked pretty chic from afar. This is a hole in the wall type restaurant with a very warm and welcoming ambiance. Right as you enter your hit with color. The food itself was underwhelming, especially for the prices. The chips tasted like they're store bought and then heated up. The salsa reminded me of the canned grocery salsa. The salad entree was just sad. I've never had a salad that was not dressed... literally just Romaine with shrimp on it. The fish tacos, though, were decent but not for the price. The most disappointing experience was the service. Although the waiters and waitresses seemed nice, they weren't friendly. Our waiter had to be reminded to bring simple things to the table. He barely spoke loud enough to hear and had to think of he, yes he, was ready to take our orders. As we stood up and began to exit, there was no "thank you" or "have a good night" as you'd expect. Hospitality is lacking. Honestly, will not return.

4.5 I really like this restaurant. I would like to preference this because I did go for a work event that rented out the restaurant and had a coursed menu. So, my experience might be super different from others. But, the food was fantastic, and I actually ate so much that I couldn't finish my meal because it was all so good! The drinks are delicious, and I would highly recommend getting one. The servers were also super nice, and the decor was super cute. It is a very small restaurant, so if you don't like that vibe you might not like this. Overall, my experience was super good!

I can honestly say that we've never had bad service. After reading some of the reviews, I guess we've been pretty fortunate because our experiences have always been positive. I actually appreciate the security team for helping ensure everyone stays safe, and they've always been friendly and professional with us. The bar has plenty to enjoy, including a pool table, fireplaces, and various games. The bartenders are organized and efficient. Don't expect a lot of engagement, as they're typically very busy, especially when the place gets crowded. Most of the bars are dive bars in downtown Santa Monica, and parking is quite accessible for this place. So I'd recommend for that reason. In terms of the drinks, I'm a huge fan of cocktail but I would say their menu selections are a bit limited. Nothing in the signature cocktail looks interesting to me, so I had the bartender make a classic cocktail instead. He's very attentive and friendly, didn't take forever to get a drink either, no attitude. Drinks aren't watered down either. Nice! You come here to grab quick drinks when you don't feel like being at a loud dive bar in the area, it's in a hotel but not too upscale, no strict dress code. Music is not loud and they have couches and booth if bar table if not your thing, you don't have to yell or pretend you hear everything to hold a conversation here (lol). ** Keep in mind 20% gratuity is automatically included in bill, it's my first time here. But I think I've other spots I'd prefer to be in, even at Santa Monica. Wouldn't be self-motivated to come back because there are better places that specialises mixology, and there are also better upscale hotel bars to be at. But if you're around the area it's a great intimate bar for date night that's not overly pricey. Wouldn't travel all the way to here just for this (if you know what I mean).

Came here on a Saturday afternoon and even without a reservation, they were able to seat us right away. Definitely 5 stars for service and not being rude, but friendly and attentive even at a busy time (World Cup was on tv!). I heard alllll about the happy hour specials so I was stoked when we were able to get the best outdoor seating and the happy hour was going on until 7pm he said. So naturally, ordered a bunch of things to try. Unfortunately, that was a solid 3 stars for me. It was just fine. I was actually bummed because I was so excited to try the menu items. They were okay. Ordered sliders (kinda dry and without flavor), Parmesan fries (seasoning was there but not very flavorful and the sauce was bland, the krab rangoons resembled egg rolls (that was new!) and fish tacos were meh. My friend ordered the chicken and it came with fries (the dish not happy hour selection) and that looks more substantial but maybe not worth $32. The drink was sweet (pink lady). Outdoor vibes were cool and def a great spot at the end of 3rd street but probably wouldn't come here for the food. Again, indoor (big tv!!) and outdoor set up was awesome, but food is just okay. Great for large groups but make a reservation!

It's located in the old Clock Tower building, and the Art Deco decor is absolutely stunning--dark enough to hide a bad day but vibrant enough for a girls' night. The Vibe: It's loud, lively, and perfectly "bohemian chic". If you're coming on a weekend, prepare for a crowd, but it's the good kind of crowded where everyone looks like they just came from a gallery opening. The Food: I'm still thinking about the Crispy Chicken Sandwich--it was juicy, perfectly seasoned, and came with a fennel-apple slaw that actually felt fresh. We also shared the Bacon Wrapped Dates (obviously) and the Hand Cut Kennebec Fries, which arrive in a bowl so huge it could basically be its own zip code. The Drinks: Their Happy Hour is arguably the best in the city. I had the Japanese Dream with matcha, and it was expertly crafted--not too sweet, which is my biggest pet peeve. The "Misfit" Moment: The service can be a tiny bit slow when it's "rammed," and there's a 4% kitchen fee that feels a bit unnecessary, but they make up for it with those complimentary sea salt chocolate chip cookies at the end. They are warm, gooey, and life-changing. One major heads-up: I heard a rumor they might be closing their doors on April 18th due to some landlord drama, so get there while you still can.

The Golden Bull in Santa Monica is one such classic stalwart, serving Santa Monica Canyon for over 75 years (nearly as long as McDonald's has been in existence). Over the decades, this seaside chophouse has been synonymous with a mean steak and a stiff cocktail; even a recent renovation and change in ownership stayed true to the Golden Bull's core. Now, the Golden Bull remains one of the most highly recommended steakhouses in LA. Waves are crashing across Pacific Coast Highway just blocks away. Outside, the prior parking lot has been converted into a breezy street-ery. The moody interior feels straight out of an episode of Mad Men, apart from the 90s pop echoing around the room. White-linen tables are pressed up to reupholstered leather booths. The dark wooden walls are decorated with historic black-and-white photographs and portraits. A blue-toned tropical aquarium serves as the centerpiece of the trim backlit bar. I visited with my family for weekend "Golden Hour," and the space was mostly deserted. We ordered dinner and drinks across both the happy hour and standard menus. The sleeper hit of our meal was the Buttermilk Onion Rings. These rich, shoestring-style rings were plenty capable as a standalone side, but they were enhanced by the tangy garlic aioli and zingy chipotle mayo. The crispy, skin-on Garlic Herb French Fries were no slouch, either, as a sidekick to the onion rings. The other happy hour specials were less memorable; the Canyon Caesar was mostly standard, while the Fried Calamari was crispy but dry and underseasoned. The 16oz NY Strip was on the fatty side, but the deliciously seasoned, well-cooked meat never for a second needed a drop of steak sauce. The French Onion Soup was heavy on Gruyere and bageutte while curiously light on onion. The Creamed Spinach was hardly creamy or cheesy, and the spinach was unseasoned. Lastly, my Old Fashioned was stiff and otherwise standard. The service was sluggish but friendly. The happy hour prices were plenty reasonable, while the steak alone approached $70. Not all of the items were hits, but collectively, our meal was a success. In the future, I will be sure to re-order the onion rings, while I may venture further into the Golden Bull's delectable steak lineup.
