When Tao first came by for a free estimate, he had great suggestions to make the space look larger and more open. We wanted to try to match the existing hardwood floors we already had as much as possible. Tao immediately knew what kind of floors to use and he even had samples on hand so that I could compare them with our current floors. Tao's estimate was very reasonable and comparable to other companies I reached out to. I went with Tao because of his background as a designer and I trusted he would make sure the floors look great! It ended up being a great decision because we are very happy with our new floors! The installation process was very smooth and even finished earlier than expected. The crew was very respectful of our home and did a great job keeping the house clean after their work was done. Any minor issues I found during installation were immediately remedied by the team without any issue. Overall, I would highly recommend reaching out to Tao for your next flooring project!

Based on photos alone, he corrected me that the wood was not mahogany (as our home inspector said) but instead Brazilian cherry. I verified that he was correct with the listing agent. No other company did this. Second, he had the lowest quoted price for the job. Third, after I selected him, he was transparent about tradeoffs rather than purely trying to upsell me. For example, he quoted me on installing wood registers everywhere when I asked, but recommended I do so only in the hallways. This advice saved me $1k and delivered a result in very happy with. ZERO STARS!…read more Howie gave us all the right buzz words and promised us the world, but he delivered nothing but excuses, delays (SIX MONTHS LATE just on the tile half of our project) and shoddy workmanship (we even had six 12 x 12 tiles fall off a section of our bathroom wall). We finally had to hire and pay another supplier and contractor to fix Howie's shoddy work and complete our project. After months of negotiations Howie / Eddy's Flooring America finally agreed to pay us a FIVE THOUSAND DOLLAR ($5,000) cash settlement but only if we agreed to their SECOND lawyer's DEMAND that we sign an 11 page document (including signature pages) filled with legalese and BIZARRE requirements like "from the beginning of the world to the world ends" [sic]. Typical of Howie, their documents contained NINE spelling errors (including misspelling Howie's own last name), five corporate name errors, one location error, numerous grammatical errors, the use of 'archaic and obscure' terms like ss. (scilicet) etc. Howie demanded that we absolve him and his wife, Eddy and his girlfriend, his brother Randy down in Florida, his installer Joe Ouellette down in Connecticut et al for everything "whether known or unknown, asserted or unasserted, contingent or accrued, discovered or undiscovered" and so on for 11 pages. We ordered the flooring materials in December 2020 for my new how that we would be moving into in January 2021. Eddy assured us that it would only take a few days to get the materials and there would not be any issues for installation. When we moved Eddy had not even ordered the materials yet. After two weeks the flooring was finally in and we were able to get started. The first installation went pretty smooth, or so I thought, but afterwords the transition piece and the boards around it were beginning to unlock due to the floor being not leveled between the kitchen and dining room. The amount to times I had to call in order for someone to fix this mistake was astronomical. I could never get a straight answer and at first Eddy told me that I had left over materials that they could use but quickly changed his response and said that there was none left. This resulted in waiting for another box to be ordered. After a month I called almost everyday to try and get someone to tell me where my order was, for Eddy to call me back, or figure out an installation date. At one point the receptionist screamed at me and told me that I needed to speak to Eddy directly and hung up on me. I couldn't believe it. In tears I finally was able to get Eddys cell phone number, to which he never apologized for the horrible customer service, or for taking so long to get back to me. We set up a day for this issue to be resolved and no one showed up during the scheduled time. I called them and was told that the installer got held up at another job. We rescheduled for two days later. Once again no one showed up and stated that they "tried calling me". However I had no missed calls and had service the entire time. A third date was scheduled and this time the installer put in a similar but different floor that was not the one that we had ordered. The installer even hid a white piece of flooring under my refrigerator. My floor is gray. After further examination I noticed they they tried to hide their bad cuts with heavy caulking and quarter rounds. Obviously I did not want to be stuck with a floor that might cause problems down the road. Eddy was hesitant to believe what I was saying about the wrong flooring being installed and I had offered to show him pictures or for him to come look himself. He refused. So yet again another box had to be ordered. Finally after a few weeks the box came in. The same installer came and apologized and claimed that "he was only doing what he was told to do". I couldn't even believe it. Finally, after SIX MONTHS of headaches, tears, and tons of phone calls the job is done. I would never recommend this place to anyone ever. There are other local places that will treat their customers with respect.

Dominic listened, offered ideas of his own, we tried a couple of things and came up with a solution that works. They are detail oriented and make sure that the structural details that are not even visible (but make a difference in the long haul), are done correctly. They don't take any shortcuts. Even though I only speak one language, they speak MANY LANGUAGES, which may be handy for you. Most importantly, THEY ARE HONEST. You have nothing to fear about leaving tools or any valuables around. They do not swear, which is important if children are around, and they are always VERY respectful.
