I was charged in 2019 and again for 2020. I just noticed it and tried to call ACTIVE NETWORK but they had heavy call volumes so I reported the unauthorized charges to my bank and BBB.org who are currently investigating it. If you check them out on BBB.org there are NUMEROUS complaints on the same issue. ActiveNetwork.com even has a Q&A on the annual fee. So it must happen pretty often. I logged into the account and looked at my history of charges from them. I attached a photo with this review. I hope races and marathons stop working with this shady company.

We picked up our bibs that morning of the event and the lines moved along smoothly. Reading the other reviews, I'm glad I wasn't in town Friday to make the pick up at the store. They gave out water bottles that morning with different colored lids and sweatbands for your head. With so many people, it took awhile to finally get to the start of the line but that was to be expected. Items were thrown into the waiting crowd. I'm sure these were the same items that were for sale. During the route, we were able to put in some running, dodging the walkers. I did my best to get color on me from the volunteers. If you didn't get enough color on you during the run, you will most definitely get showered with it during the after party where color is thrown in the air at intervals. Awesome energy at the post run party but got hit with elbows and arms a few times since my cousin insisted on being so close to the front. The crowd was filled with happy, hyped-up people that got crazy trying to catch the items being thrown from the stage, which included more packets of color. It's crazy standing in there when people are throwing the powder up in the air. The sun gets blocked out for those seconds. I didn't see any blowers as we were leaving but I did hear one. My cousin just wanted to get to the hotel and shower so we didn't bother looking. Make sure to bring something to cover your car seats for the ride home. Expect your tongues to be colored. I think I was getting over a cold at the time. This is gross but even the mucous from my throat was colored the following day. Don't worry, it's all harmless. I'm still alive. Awesome event and I had a blast but I noticed these color-type runs are becoming more common now.

Use a zip lock bag or something to protect them. The event was held at 9am which is good, because its not too early so it won't be as chilly and also not late to where the sun is out burning you. At the finish line volunteers pass out drinking water, so drink it and stay hydrated. Overall a great event. Oh bring a towel too to wipe all the color powder stuff off your face.

Fun announcer at the starting line and isn't of color to go around. Nice to get a bottle of water at the finish line but would prefer more than one water table on the course. 5 star would be tunes rocking throughout the course. And to be even more exceptional a course photographer that sends you links to photos you can buy wherever your race number showed up. The candids turned out so great that I can only imagine if we had access to action shots.

Being of the mind set that my age does not define, but my waist-line may have more definition than…read moreI like at this point in tiem, I deceded to embark on an Ecstasy-free, rave-like experience filled with glow sticks, costumes, EDM and a whole lot of people. Set in the massive parking lot at Qualcomm, (yes, there is enough room in that lot to run 3.1 miles so, for the love of all that is good, do not forget where you parked your car) hundreds of people in outfits ranging from basic white and black with glow sticks to what I think were characters from Cat in the Hat on quaaludes crammed togeher in the chute, waitng with bated (some with garlic fry) breath for starting pistol to fire. Along the course were six check points designed to, let's say, add to your neon attire. Thie first of wich was a serieis of low preasure hoses spewing pink and green liqiud as participants made their way through the rest of the psychodelic adventure. There was even a tunnel of black-lights for mid 5K photo ops. I have done several 5ks in my life and this was by far the most colorful one yet. I do think the fee was a little steep for what was offered, but it was well organized and would be a great time for a family.

The run... well... running on a parking lot sucks. There were a few spots to see yourself glow but they were far in-between. Ultimately, once you were done with the run, there was an AWESOME PARTY waiting for you, which definitely brought the rating of this event up. If I would do it again, I think I would. Maybe just not run it since I don't like running in parking lots.

True class would have been to name the stadium after Jack Murphy, the person who the original stadium was named for - that naming choice would have represented continuity, a recognition that history and the city matter. Now Jack Murphy only gets a statue of himself and his dog outside the stadium, with a plaque talking about all the sponsors of the statue, not actually explaining who the man himself was. Again, true class would have been to kept the name Jack Murphy for the stadium - but true class is hard to find in America these days. Snapdragon can never become a legendary stadium like Old Trafford of Man U, the Bernabeu of Real Madrid, or the Maracana of Brazil with a sold off stadium name representing nothing that'll change every 20 years.

(My 3rd Half) Sadly,…read moreSan Diego's Costume Party Run--famed for boasting the "World's Largest Half Marathon Medal"--had its final go-round this year. Look, I haven't been running that long. In fact, this run is only my third Half Marathon this year. (I have another eight on deck.) But after first seeing pictures of 2013's "Classic 45 Record" medal--also shouldering the "World's Largest" bravado--there was no doubt that I would be owning this Half. But it wasn't easy. This course is almost all Friars Rd.--about 10 miles of it--and although the hills aren't that steep, they're rolling. One after another after another after another... And just when I thought I was reaching a reprieve in Qualcomm Stadium's parking lot, more punishment: even the lot had hills! It was neverending! No, it wasn't an easy course (for me, at least.) It's not even scenic, really, but I was thrilled to have run it nonetheless. Because I knew that with every miserably hilly mile, I was one tired step closer to the prize. And this year's just-as-ridiculously-awesome, super-stunning "Gold Record Edition" medal--with a 6" diameter and a sparkling 3D Disco Ball--was worth the punishment! I am proud to having it hanging on my wall. So... The Costume Party Run has ended. But I think we're good: the Run's classy promoter--Superhero Events, LLC--they're not out of it. They've got clout. And I am sure that sometime very soon, some upcoming, action-packed and fun-filled running events will be revealed. My time: 2:41:57.2 Overall: 647/989 :)

Yah there were…read morepotholes on Friar's road and had to circle around the Qualcomm stadium parking lot like lost Ants harvesting for fall but did you see the gargantuan medal nestled between my voluptuous bosom??? It's the size of a cantaloupe!!! But it was great to see tons of people suffer the early July heat with me and share in that special moment of runners swass juice running down your leg. What a feeling! Anyways, I didn't care too much about the course or the heat because that medal, brought the material whore out of me!

This was my second time running the Rock n Roll Half Marathon in San Diego and I can say it is one…read moreof the more well run and signed races I've been to. There was no confusion which course to follow, which has sometimes been the case at some particular Rock n Roll events for me in the past. Having only one course split between the half and full marathons has a role to play in that. This course is hilly, regardless which one you choose and the half takes you through Hillcrest, University Heights, North Park, Balboa Park and then downtown, with the race festival being at Waterfront Park the past few years. The finish line is located blocks away from the festival so there's always quite a bit of walking before you can grab your checked gear back, heavy medals, beer, etc If you have a car, there is no official parking area so you're on your own for that. I would recommend arriving on foot, scooter, bike or rideshare. I have a friend that drove his car and it seemed like a pain trying to find a place to reserve a parking spot prior race morning.

Just finished my first half marathon! At first I was little concerned since all the bathrooms…read morebefore the race had started ran out of toilet paper but as the run started there was multiple well stocked rest stations. The course itself was beautiful and well versed from long flat stretches to hills for all levels of runners. Multiple water and Gatorade stations. The only time I felt uncomfortable on my run was during the last stretch where we had to run through a tunnel with multiple homeless encampments. I will be doing this run again the only thing I would ask them to change is a safer ending to the route and better stocked restrooms at the start. There is also a lot of medical tents and personal on site in case of emergencies!

Sunday, May 16, 2010 was the culmination of San Diego River Days. A family-friendly Festival was…read moreheld on the grounds of Qualcom Stadium parking lot and a good time was had by all. Though the day dawned overcast and soon a steady breeze made things brisk, the Festival was a big hit-especially with the younger crowd. RiverFest Adult 5k & a Kid's 1k Fun Run brought out the inner-athlete is many children. Quite a few family pet dogs also participated in the runs. In addition, there was an Outdoor Recreation Festival, Artist Village, Climbing Wall and Other Family-Focused Activities. The Fern Street Circus-San Diego's single-ring circus- performed their amazing feats for the crowd. The kids riding uni-cycles were fantastic. There was more than 30 booths on hand with information about local parks, trails and volunteer opportunities. Free food from local restaurants such as Pat & Oscars and Mimi's Cafe. Solar and other green living displays and an awesome plant sale. Project Wildlife brought a large raven to display that had been injured and made not releasable into the wild. I Love a Clean San Diego and Friends of Famosa Slough were there; so was Coast-Keeper San Diego which does a lot of habitat restoration projects. Live, local music was spectacular. A young trio of local kids named Oculus Sinister rocked out and they were great! The New Assembly, HarpCo and Gregory Page also performed through out the day. From the website: "The vision of the San Diego River Park is a greenbelt from the mountains to the ocean along the 52 mile long San Diego River. This greenbelt is really a trail system and a clean and healthy river system which connects a diversity of parks, open spaces, public places and community facilities spread out along the length of the River." What a great concept and dream this is! The Foundation is working to achieve this goal by "partnering with government agencies such as the San Diego River Conservancy, business and civic leaders and a wide range of public organizations. By promoting stewardship of the River and promoting a better understanding of the River's natural systems, the San Diego River Park Foundation is endeavoring to enhance the quality of life in San Diego." Their Festival in celebration of all this was a fun, free way to have learn more about the River environment and support it as well.

Sammy -- the instructor who helped us -- was incredibly patient, calm, and hands-on the entire time. He took the time to work with Kamden, helped him feel safe, and supported him through every step. Instructor Elijah was outstanding, showcasing impressive flying skills and gifting my son an additional round of high flight as a birthday gesture, that was really nice of him to do that. Thank you! I took an advantage of their weekdays $89 deal per person with 2flights each. Weekends, it's $109 so you get a little saving. There is a $20 upgrade for the high flight experience but it's well worth it, offering kids an exhilarating adventure that I highly recommend. It's a really fun experience everyone enjoys.
