Isaac has helped my teen son with suits, tuxedo rentals, and casual wear for 4 years: educating him on the fit, posture, and details like bow ties and pocket silks, down to the socks, perfect hem length, etc. He has also outfitted my husband perfectly for an executive role, and also business casual. Maize is great as well, the entire staff is exceptional in their welcoming culture, priority service, and dedication to truly crafting a 5 star look. At first I was hesitant to stop in at this store because I was having a hard time believing they were of the same caliber as places such as Men's Wearhouse and other tuxedo specialists. Boy was I wrong. Price Stores is an affordable, yet very classy, men's clothing, bridal, and tuxedo rental business located in downtown Dayton. I am definitely glad I stopped in. On the first floor, Price has men's clothing, most specifically, suits, dress shirts, and ties. They also sell hats, including, of all things, Stetson hats. Who knew? On the upper two floors they have their bridal sales and tuxedo rentals (I forget which is on which floor). With the tuxedos, they have a nice selection, though it may be a little limited compared to a mail order situation. For example, I walked in foolishly planning to rent a jacket with a cutaway design, but their selection was slim in my size, and I looked terrible anyway. What Price offers that no other tuxedo store in Dayton OR Cincinnati seemed to offer was they stock their tuxedos on-site, whereas Men's Wearhouse and others mail order them in. This was a total relief to me, because it meant I knew, on my wedding day, that the tuxedo was absolutely going to fit. They also do adjustments on-site, and when I arrived the day before to pick up my tuxedo and the pants didn't fit, they too them back and 15 minutes later, viola!, they fit. The bridal store has a nice selection too. If my wife had known that they carried dresses, and so affordably, she probably would have stopped in there and looked before locking in at a different venue. As it was, she did purchase her tiara and veil at Price, beating out even eBay prices for veils and getting exactly what she wanted. Service, quality, variety, and in all other ways, Price Stores exceeded my expectations and contributed to making my wedding day a success. I will definitely be back in the future to take a look at suits, because I'm sure I need a new one. read more

Staff was helpful when you actually pinned someone down but they are definitely understaffed for prom season. Employees are harried and seem to be annoyed if you ask questions. I actually had to be rude to get my question across because the man kept trying to rush me off without understanding what I needed to know. In the end, good prices for rentals, service was lacking but then, I guess that's where the "you get what you pay for" comes in. Still my go-to for prom rentals. read more

I remember going to Price Stores as a very young man. Over the years I've seen the store evolve into something different. I believe the change was due to the direction and nurture Phil Hoskins gave it. He carefully and methodically guided it into a store with great items to choose from. True Story: Work in Moraine and needed a black suit quickly for an "almost" black tie event the next day. 10 minute drive during lunch to their FREE parking. Found and fitted a suit in 20 minutes. Great service in finding a quality suit (nothing worse than a cheap looking suit - the point of wearing a suit is to look good). They helped me select a tie and recommended a new white dress shirt. Good advise since this was a formal function. 10 minute drive back to work. Went back the next day for pick up (30 minutes). No alteration fees! I price checked at Macy's a couple weeks later and I got a great deal. read more

I called this store twice and told them I was looking for a wedding dress, they said no problem. When I got there I was rudely informed this was a men's only store and practically shoved my mom and I out the door. The store was very nice and well organized if they were not so rude to my mother and I we probably would have sent my fiancé there but not now. I came to Price Stores frequently as a child with my father so he could get fitted for custom suits for various occasions. I always remembered a welcoming store and nice atmosphere. Fast forward to present year. I'm getting married. My father suggested checking out Price for the men's tuxedos. We did some research and found with the rental of five tuxedos the grooms would be free. Unfortunately we came to find out this excluded children's tuxedos. We walked in with a group of six just to look around and get a feel for what we were wanting. No one greeted us when we walked in, so we made our way upstairs. Once upstairs we were greeted by an extremely nice gentleman who proceeded to help us and give us idea. He was doing a wonderful job when another employee, a woman involved herself in the situation. She offered her unwelcomed and undesired opinion. She even went as far as to tell us, our colors were too much and wouldn't work well. We picked out an amazing tux, but unfortunately it wasn't available in children sizes. So our children would have to be mismatched from the rest of the party. Talk about disappointing. She said if it was an issue we were more than welcome to go elsewhere for our needs. When asked if the grooms tux would be free, we were told no because three of the five groomsman were children. However, this doesn't match what the online ad said. The best thing about our experience here was our initial contact with the gentlemen who started to help us, the prices, and leaving. I doubt I will ever go back. We ended up booking with Mens Warehouse after our less than desirable experience. However, I am thankful we stopped here because we got our AMAZING tuxs at Mens Warehouse the exact way WE wanted them, at a price match; which equaled out to a huge discount. read more

My experience with Price Stores started out positive, but immediately went south. A friend is getting married and decided for the groomsmen to purchase suits through Price Brothers. Living out of state, I called in my measurements so they could order the suit and ship it to me. My sizes were submitted on April 4th and I was told it would be 2-3 weeks until they would be shipped. Sounds fine I thought. This is where things go bad. After 5 weeks, I finally call them and ask what is going on considering the wedding is only 2 weeks away! Apparently they had no intention of calling me to tell me when they arrived (May 9th) so they could be shipped ASAP. Only after I called (May 10th) asking did they ship the suit (supposedly May 12). Considering tailoring would be needed, they charged an additional $80 for overnight shipping. I worked with Phil (who was easy enough to deal with, but unavailable when things started to go wrong) during the ordering and was quickly shifted to John for shipping etc... John was very rude and unapologetic for misrepresenting the lead time on the suits. They generally seemed apathetic as to the situation and had no intention on trying to rectify the problems. I will never work with Price Brothers in the future and cannot anticipate that they will be capable of sustaining as a sub par business. read more

It's been a while since I needed to buy a new suit. I recently found out my employer was moving out of state, so after many years I needed a new interview suit. That's where Price Stores comes in. They did a phenomenal job of taking care of me. I walked in and told Joshua I needed a suit for a job interview next week. He was quite knowledgeable and gave me several options to choose from. Within a few minutes we had a suit, couple shirts, & ties to go with it. A few days later I came back and the alterations were spot on. I would like to say thanks for your input and customer service. I have shopped at Price Stores on 4th and Jefferson on and off for 25 years, and very glad I have. Today I purchased a sport coat and although it wasn't on sale, I am very happy with the fit and quality. The sales staff is cordial and don't bother you as you shop. Living south of town, I sometimes forget they're there and thus miss out a lot. Definitely worth a look when you don't really want to pay a bazillion dollars for nice clothing for less. read more

I guess I had higher expectations because of the good ratings on Google and Facebook, but this store was terrible. We walked in, the guy said we would have to order the suit and that it would be in within a week (we were thrilled). Four weeks go by and still no suit. After calling 2x each week to see if it had come in, the last time I called he said it wouldn't be in until the middle of September? (we ordered the end of July) I guess what irritates me the most, is, if they would've been honest from the beginning or had called to let us know I would be more understanding. Their customer service was poor and it basically seemed like they wanted nothing to do with us. read more

Two stars for the downstairs suit department, five for upstairs formalwear department. My experience with the two bearded associates downstairs was very disappointing. I went there in early May to purchase a suit for my wedding and was told by the associate that it would have to be ordered from CA and would arrive in about 10 days, and I would be called. Two weeks went by, and nothing. I went back in and talked to the other associate and he told me the original guy was on vacation and was the one who ordered stuff, so I'd have to wait until the next week. I went back the next week (mid/late June) and was told that "some stuff arrived, but other things didn't," and that they would, again, contact me. Fast forward a month to late July, and I returned. The original associate simply shrugged when I asked if the suit would be here in time for my mid-Sep wedding, so I told him to cancel everything and I went upstairs and rented a tux. Honestly, the two associates in the downstairs department made me not want to give any business to Price, however, I like supporting local business and hope that someone can have a chat with them. read more
