Close to a year ago, I had an eighty foot poplar tree fall on the roof of my house. I live in a…read morewooded area, so the acre lot upon which my house resides has all sorts of trees. After the tree impact, clearing out the problematic trees has obviously been a high priority. During the process, I worked with three companies. Of these, Smitty's Tree Service was, by far, the best. The two trees that he took down for me were the most problematic and complicated of any on my property--big, few limbs to work with, and very close to the house. Tony's service was, by far, the most professional, and ironically, also the least expensive of any other company I'd worked with. He took down the problematic trees swiftly and cleanly--felling them in exactly the direction and at exactly the place he said he would. Communication is great. Prices simply cannot be beat (he handled the two hardest trees for a fraction of the price that others had quoted for simply ONE tree). He is insured and has a catalog of great references. If you need tree work done in Front Royal, Linden, or elsewhere in Northern Virginia, I cannot recommend anyone higher than Smitty's Tree Service.

Shawn took my call, and - while obviously overworked liked everybody else - was friendly and encouraging. The price he charged was in-line with what I expected; it's his availability and willingness to make room in his schedule that stood out. Seriously: this is how you build long-term customers. Shawn was able to meet me for a quote (at a very reasonable price!) and had his team out that very same day to start on the project. He removed some plants, replanted new ones, translated a small tree, and mowed the lawn -- all in absolute pristine condition! Shawn is super communicative, quick to send photos of the progress of the project, and overall a great person to do business with. 10/10 recommend if you're looking for landscape or lawncare.

We had two trees cut down, one of the stumps ground (the other has to be approved by the electric company), multiple bushes removed, and a few tree trimmed back. The two trees were in very difficult locations, right next to our house. They arrived early, upbeat, and got right to work. I am very impressed in how quickly they were able to complete the work, and how well they left the yard. All debris was removed, even some we had personally cut and had in piles. It was raining on and off the day they were here but you wouldn't guess that, seeing how no mess was made with the mud. We have small children and they were intensely watching the men work.
