They took down a HUGE dead tree efficiently and safely. I was so impressed at how hard the team worked in the summer heat. This was the second job they have done for us. We will ask them again. read more

I highly recommend these guys! I called four different tree service companies, and they were not only the quickest to respond back, but were able to help me take down trees that were dangerous the next day! They were flexible on services so I could get the right price. Highly recommend! read more

I recently bought a house in Front Royal, VA, and needed some trees removed and yard debris cleaned up. I can't tell you how helpful and nice this group has been. Very accommodating, willing to meet for a free estimate whenever you are available, and willing to work with you on the payment. Super friendly, and fairly priced. I can't recommend them enough! read more

I hired Smitty's to clear several large trees and chip a bunch of brush on my property. Smitty gives an honest and fair estimate. The crew shows up on time and they work hard and fast all day. Got an amazing amount of work done in little time. This crew actually knows what they're doing. Highly recommended. read more

Smittys Tree Service - Mike, doing work up in the bucket. - Tree Services Near Me

I hired another contractor initially to do some tree work for me. It was a big mistake! They didn't cut down some trees that I had asked them to and mistakenly took down others. I fired them and instead hired Smitty's Tree Service. Not only did they clean up after the last contractor but they did a phenomenal job! Very professional and friendly! Very affordable as well! It's a family owned company. Both the husband and wife came out to the job a few times to check on everything and make sure all was good. I'm very impressed and glad to know that I now know who to call whenever I need tree work. read more

Smittys tree service was very professional and took 3 very large trees down for us and took the utmost care of our yard and property Highly recommend them for any tree service you may need read more

We had Smitty's cut down a huge Poplar tree, chip branches with removal and cut the entire tree into fireplace lengths. Their estimate was very fair. After the estimate they came by several times to look at the BEST way to drop the tree. The job was completed in a very safe manner and fell just as they planned. Highly recommend. read more

If I could give this ZERO star I would. Undoubtedly the most unprofessional and most rude people I have came into contact with. After a huge storm a few months ago I called up this place because an oak tree fell and tore through my garage. Nobody answered. I was recommended here by a friend but now she's also second guessing her choices! I called back a few times and left voicemails at their main office as well. I finally got a hold of a woman and she was snippy and very rude. She then told me god will be coming for me because I was being rude to her. I was very frustrated and upset because a darn tree fell on my garage!!!!!!! I don't think bringing religion into the workplace is good anyways. To each their own I guess... When we FINALLY got an estimate done finally the crew reeked of alcohol and marijuana :( I asked them what they could do about not damaging the garage anymore and he looked at me and told me I was stupid because it'll get damaged more! Thankfully JC Tree service and Shenandoah Tree Service both helped me and were professionals! Do not go to smittys unless you want your wallet and home ruined! read more

They have been a delight to work with. They were communicative, professional and we are very pleased with the results. They cleaned up so well. Will not hesitate to call on them again. read more

Smitty's did an excellent job for me. Tree removal as promised and great clean-up after the job was done. The crew was hard-working and polite. The foreman provided EXCELLENT customer service and was educated beyond what I expected. He walked the property with me in order to point out any issues there might be down the road with older trees. This was exactly what I needed! Now I know what to keep my eye on in the future and who to call when necessary. Pricing was more than fair. read more

They came out and did an estimate, offered a good price, so we wanted to get them cut down. Called multiple times to schedule a time for them to come remove the trees with no answers. Called the main office, and she told me that they would call within the hour to schedule a time. They never called. When they finally called we were working and couldn't answer so they left a voicemail. Called back for the next few days and still no answer. Even called the main office with no answer. I completely understand if they're too busy or don't want the business, but at least say it and let your potential customers know. If you want a tree taken down quickly and effectively with excellent customer service, call Wayne at Shenandoah Tree Service. They rock! read more

Smittys Tree Service did an amazing job cutting down a few trees for me, grinding stumps, pruning all of the trees in my front yard, and trimming my bushes and the edge of my property. They even cleared out some extra things for me at and no additional charge. The workers were very polite and friendly. They even offered some excellent landscaping suggestions and advice for me to resolve some other issues that my yard has. Before they came my yard was a mess and now it looks outstanding. I will definitely use them again for any sort of related service. They have now found a lifelong customer!!! read more

Close to a year ago, I had an eighty foot poplar tree fall on the roof of my house. I live in a wooded area, so the acre lot upon which my house resides has all sorts of trees. After the tree impact, clearing out the problematic trees has obviously been a high priority. During the process, I worked with three companies. Of these, Smitty's Tree Service was, by far, the best. The two trees that he took down for me were the most problematic and complicated of any on my property--big, few limbs to work with, and very close to the house. Tony's service was, by far, the most professional, and ironically, also the least expensive of any other company I'd worked with. He took down the problematic trees swiftly and cleanly--felling them in exactly the direction and at exactly the place he said he would. Communication is great. Prices simply cannot be beat (he handled the two hardest trees for a fraction of the price that others had quoted for simply ONE tree). He is insured and has a catalog of great references. If you need tree work done in Front Royal, Linden, or elsewhere in Northern Virginia, I cannot recommend anyone higher than Smitty's Tree Service. read more

I hired them to just drop two trees. Since I had used them before, and was going out of town, I thought I could trust them to do the job, an paid them up-front. BIG MISTAKE. When I returned home, only half of one tree was down. When I called them, I was told their bucket truck broke down, but they would be out to finish the job. They have never showed back up, or refunded my money for a job not done. My phone calls are ignored. I ended up hiring another company to complete the job. VERY UNHAPPY with Smitty's. read more

They cut my tree down at a good price. Unfortunately they also severely damaged a large magnolia in the process. I understand things happen when felling trees, but the fact that they never even mentioned the damage speaks of their character. Even more annoying was the over 30 cigarette butts, 6 coffee cups and 2 iced tea bottles (one of which was filled with dip spit) left in my yard. These disgusting men had zero consideration for my property or the children that play on it. Botton line- the job got done, but every time my little girl hands me another cigarette butt I wish I'd gotten a more professional outfit to handle it. read more

Tony and his crew did an excellent job! I had an area cleared of approx. 11 trees and bid out the job to several other tree removal companies. Tony gave me the best price and service. I have nothing but good to say about him, and Susan. I would recommend to all and the next job I need done I won't bid it out, I'll just call Tony. I checked Yelp before I hired and the review from the other person is way off base. I think she had the wrong company. There are almost 200 Smitty's tree services out there. Google it! read more

Excellent, experienced, and professional tree service. Called for a tough job, and they got the job done in a couple days at a reasonable price. Friendly, hard working, and honest company. So pleased with the job. Highly recommend them to anyone! read more

I contacted this company last week to give me quote on snow-plowing on my property in Front Royal. Tony from this company assured me to give me quote by that evening. Since he didn't call me that day, I reminded him next day, but again no reply. Since then I called him six times and left messages (which says reply will come in 1 hour) but no reply. How can you trust such company/persons. read more

These guys are the best. Had 3 large trees to take down and one was a large tree with a split with one part was hung in another tree about 50 ft off the ground. The guys used ropes to scale the tree and tie off the split part and then proceeded to cut it into small pieces. Cleaned up everything and sawed all the down wood into fire wood lengths. Just a great job and price was really great. Would recomment these guys anytime. read more

i can not express how impressed i am with these guys...had a mess from cutting two giant oaks and giant hickory ..there were arrangements in place for town to remove and then didn't ..call smitty's came gave me quote yesterday ..was here this morning and completely removed the brush and even cleaned leaves i thought i would have to do...i would highly highly recommend ...and trust me i'm not easily pleased with services read more

I received 2 bids to cut down a dead tree in my backyard. One from Smitty's & one from a competitor, I went with Smitty's because they did not have to remove my fence in order to get to the tree, the other company would of had to remove my fence then put it back when they were done. Smitty's came out & removed my tree while I was at work & did an excellent job. They picked up all remaining limbs & the whole tree & left nothing but the stump behind. I had no need to keep the wood so removal was great. Other than the tree being gone I never would have even known they were there that day. They were very fair & reasonable with the price as well. I would definitely recommend them to my friends & family & I did, this past year they went to my brothers house & removed some trees for him as well. If I had any more trees in my yard that needed to come down Smitty's Tree Service is the first one I would call. read more
