Everything is great at this store. Occasionally someone may keep looking for coupons while in the line.,Fumbling around with their wallet, but that the person's fault, not the store. I live in Endicott and have historically gone to another local grocery store due to the lack of cleanliness and smoke and mirror sale signs located within the store. I have a vision issue and often can't read the tiny print on the signs. I recently thought I would try again, same old same old. When I got home I again realized I purchased the wrong item or the wrong size or the wrong amount to take advantage of the sale item. Unless you have excellent vision and the time to get up very close and read the small print, you will be taken "advantage" of, and over charged repeatedly. read more

I don't feel safe shopping at P.C. anymore. Today, I went to get a few items and as I was getting my card to pay for the items, there's a woman (maybe manager?) standing outside of the cashier's booth, the whole time, she was watching my hands and at the end of the transaction, she asked me about one of my items in a rude manner. Then the cashier asked me for my P.C card, I didn't have it, so she asked me for my phone number. I said "no" to that. There were a few people standing by and I wasn't gonna give my phone #. Ordered floral arrangement from Price Chopper in Endicott for a family member's funeral. What a huge disappointment when we arrived at the funeral home. It looked totally unprofessional. I had to stop going. This store is understaffed and seems to be busy about 22 hours a day. The result is a store that's crowded and lines that take longer than they seem like they should. Generally you can use their self-checkout but certain times even that gets busy. But that's not the problem. Half the employees are terrific, but the other half are completely checked out--I guess that's the norm at a place where you're paying people a little bit of nothing and employing a bunch of transient college kids, but it can be infuriating when you need help from somebody who doesn't have the answer and can't be bothered to try to find it, or direct you to who might. But that's not the problem. The place has an overwhelming air of being...just dingy. Not necessarily dirty, although I wouldn't argue if someone else were to describe it that way. But it feels like it hasn't been cleaned in a very long time--which is funny, since i know for a fact it has! The night-cleaning crew brook no interference, and are so relentlessly rude and pushy that even before I stopped going altogether, I stopped going during the latenight hours. The dinginess is close, but it's not the problem. The problem is freshness. I've purchased milk here before which, when I got it home, turned out to be out-of-date. I've opened a dozen eggs on the shelves which had only two unbroken and was sticky to the touch. And, on more than one occasion, I've purchased ice cream which had clearly been COMPLETELY MELTED and then re-frozen. How can I tell that's what happened? Sure, if it were a gallon of ice cream it would be an educated guess at best but one of the times, it was ice cream sandwiches. When they're all balled up in the bottom of their little plastic wrappings,twisted around themselves and shaped like a Hershey's Kiss, it's pretty clear what happened. I understand that this COULD happen anywhere, but not only has it been YEARS since I've had anything resembling this experience anywhere else, it happened to me three times in a six-month period with three different kinds of ice cream. read more

I'm told this is the best Pricechopper around here, it's the closest to my home. I'd say it's above average and they have been good about responding to my inquiries online, sometimes the local manager has phoned me to discuss matters. His name is Tony. I've probably walked by him 500 times and never known it. Today I wrote to them and asked why the black grapes, which are just as delicious, are priced considerably below all other grapes. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because they are new and unfamiliar, but I expect the situation will be the same a year from now, if the black grapes haven't been removed due to concerns about possibly scaring the children. One unresolved question is why the most expensive coffee in the store would only be available ground, counter intuitive to anyone who understands coffee. If you tell me the public is generally uninformed about coffee, I will agree and say what are we going to do about it? read more

I'm surprised that there wasn't any other reviews of Price Chopper. Overall it appears to be the best supermarket in the area. Of course, with Giant and with the lame Wegman's we have, that isn't saying much. I guess one reason why Price Chopper hasn't got as many reviews is they are more about providing the consumer with a good product at a fair price then catering to the look at me, I'm sophisticated and I have a canvas shopping bag crowd that Wegman's does. While the produce choices at the Chopper might be a little more limited than Wegman;s but they are usually in better shape and better priced (still, I recommend a local farmers market for good veggies). The meat selection is tops as far as super markets in the area goes. Again, the competition is low, but at least I can get lamb and some other meats and the meats (esp. if you get them from the butcher counter) are nice and fresh. read more

This one particular employee always follows me around for no reason, I don't steal, I never stole anything in my life! I don't know why she follows me, maybe because I'm black, I don't know, I'm not the only black person she follows. She yelled at my mom to get out of the store when she didn't do anything wrong, she was shopping with me, my mom has severe heart problems, she doesn't need to be treated like that! She deserves to be fired!! Also the store is really dirty and disgusting, there's always cans, plastic, boxes, cardboard, spilt food, glass on the floor, the freezers leak, they clean the floor with bleach, that's very harmful to people with asthma and respiratory problems like myself and my mom. I went over to get some yogurt and I saw black mold in the fridge, I don't know how long it's been there but it's disgusting. Finally there are fruit flies all over the fruit, I had to swat them away to get some fruit, most of the times there are tons on the fruit and I just don't get it. I went to go get some Buddig meat packets and I saw some out of date like 4 months old mixed with the fresh, like that is really careless and lazy and can cause people to get sick from food poisoning. So, this area is a food desert, and likes many grocery stores in food deserts, they could not possibly give a crap less about customer satisfaction. The fruit had flies everywhere. The meat is grey and they won't take it off the shelf. One guy very, very knowingly sold me seafood that had gone bad and I had little kids with me (which could have been very dangerous off they had eaten it). The prices aren't even good. read more

We have been shopping there for many years. Just returned from there but also went there to complain about 2 london broils we bought. Cooked one last sunday and it was so tough that none of us could chew it. That included my grandkids. This sunday we cooked another my wife just bought, same result! You could not chew it. When I told the "Meat Manager", his comment was I took to be rude and not customer friendly. He said "Haven't heard any other complaints, sorry about that", then turned his back and walked away! I guess I won't be voting for him to be manager of the year and I can always shop somewhere else! read more

Conveniently located but horrible prices and customer service is hit-or-miss. Some of the workers are extremely helpful and others are just in the way. I have been going to Price Chopper since it came here years ago. I love the frest produce and enjoy picking out my meat from the the great variety they carry. The Deli has been featuring a meal of the week with a great meal for 4 , fresh bread from the bakery, sometimes with a salad and drink. All for a low $10.00. They make it so easy to dash right in and pick up the meal- pay at the deli-and your on your way. I love the convient way you can buy extra protions by adding any of the featured products for a low price. I am certainly a fan of Price Chopper! read more

I have gone to Giant in West Corners since grade school with my parents. They sold & I went back once. Never again. Everything we used to purchase is gone. Price Chopper is much closer but their prices have gone through the roof. 9.99& for instant Maxwell House Coffee which used to be 5 to 6 $ Can't even afford milk. One thing that upsets me is if it's past 10 AM the donuts are wipped out along with the bagels. It wasn't like this before. I go to the corner store on Jackson & Main St. Called EZ Mart. Was emailed a store coupon to triple 10 coupons. I brought it to the store and asked a customer service rep how it worked. She was very nice and gave me all the info. I got my 10 items and milk. Had my emailed coupon and 10 coupons ready. Waited in line for 15 minutes because they were super busy and only had 4 lanes open. Have my coupons and was told I was at the only register that wouldn't scan coupon. He manually put in everything and didn't triple anything. Had a supervisor help and still wouldn't work. I offered to take my things to another lane so I wouldn't hold anyone up. Went to the second lane where I waited in line for another 20 minutes. Again the cashier had no idea how to triple the coupons. Long story short I walked out with just the milk and a whole bunch of frustration. They need to do a better job of training the cashiers so customers can take advantage of promotions that Price chopper offers, or else what is the point of having these promotions?! read more
