I ordered the part and tried replacing it myself but the old sensor would not pull out. I called the shop and they were able to squeeze me in despite having a full workload. Within 30 minutes they had the tire and brake calipers off and exposed that the sensor had melted (which is why I couldn't pull it out). Wonderful service and friendly.

To be clear, this charge was overwhelmingly for labor, since I supplied the battery. I understand labor rates are high in this area, and I did not negotiate pricing beforehand. But $400+ for an oil change and a battery swap crosses the line into being taken advantage of. What makes this worse is that the job wasn't even completed properly. They did not reset the engine service light and did not reinstall the plastic covers over the exposed battery terminals. So not only was the price extreme, basic finishing steps were skipped. This felt less like "expensive service" and more like gouging paired with sloppy follow-through. I would not return.

They kept missing problems and when I found that my coolant was leaking they looked at it for 5 seconds and said matter of factly that it was the radiator. So they replaced that for $500 and that ended up being a complete misdiagnosis because it was a head gasket the whole time. Due to their mistakes I had to drive a completely broken car from Los Alamos to New York. I had to fill up the radiator with coolant every two hours so it didn't overheat and constantly worrying that I wouldn't make it back. It was a nightmare and the car costs more to fix now than it's worth.
