With this package we planned alongside Kimmylea and got the day-of coordination. She helped us every step of the way keeping us on track with booking vendors and even recommending vendors as well. Kimmylea was so easy to get into contact with. She always responded in a timely manner and we had several meetings along the way as well which helped us feel prepared. The wedding day was stress-free for my husband and I and our whole family. Kimmylea and Beau set up everything and tore down which was so nice to not have our families worry about. At the end of the night I found out our venue's security guard never showed up and they wouldn't be able to serve alcohol without one. Luckily Beau was able to fill that role due to his occupation. When I first started looking for a company to work with, I messaged several different photographers and Carmen was the only person I felt at ease collaborating with. Not only did she reply very quickly, her responses were positive & supportive. The altar having a fountain behind it is an absolutely stunning detail for the ceremony. The white stone wall by the outdoor tables made for an incredible background for pictures and made me feel like I was in Greece instead of Iowa. The rolling fields around the venue are beautiful for family/wedding party photos. The grand staircase is a classy touch and made for fun entrances by the wedding party. The chandeliers are a gorgeous detail that tied the whole reception area together. Although they have an email address and phone, they rarely responded and when they did it was usually via messages on Facebook. We were told our video would take 3 to 4 months and we got our video after nearly 6 months with zero communication about the delay. We had to contact them to find out where our video was and why it wasn't done. They are very creative and passionate about their videos but lack a good business sense and professionalism.

These guys go above and beyond to capture your wedding day and you can depend on them to provide you with a product of the most exceptional quality. Photography and videography were my number one priority for my wedding; I wanted to be able to look back on the memories forever. However, my photographer was so expensive that for a while, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get a videographer because everyone was extremely out of my budget. I also had the mistaken assumption and was afraid if I didn't pay an exorbitant amount, I would receive poor quality. Fortunately, one day, while scrolling through my Facebook Newsfeed, I stumbled upon a highlight video SwitchUp Media had done for a wedding with one of my friends in it. Their work made my heart race and after researching their website and following their work, I just HAD to have them capture mine! Best. Decision. Ever. Tyler and Jason treated our wedding day with adept expertise and professionalism and in turn made us, our wedding party and our guests feel respected and special. They are also just naturally fun guys to be around and are great at interacting with the bride and groom, wedding party and guests. I had several people comment on how well they presented and handled themselves and also had a friend ask them to do the videography for her wedding. SwitchUp Media is transparent about their pricing (which is so decent and unique of them when I think back on all of my vendors) and you are paying so much less for how much they give you. I mean, you get TWO videographers who are with you ALL day (they stayed at our wedding longer than our photographers did) and they took hours of footage, captured incredible shots, and then they edited it down into a priceless memory with a beautiful highlight video and DVD of the entire day. And I just got the basic package! These guys offer so much more and can and will do so much for you. The day we got our highlight video back I think I watched it 100 times. They really take the time to capture the "feel" of your wedding and are spot on. I love watching all the highlight videos they have done because they all give you a really good feeling which I also feel is testimony to their character. They have you fill out a questionnaire with preferences, scheduling, etc. for your event. Then our DJ, Roger, called me the week-of to talk about what vibe and music I was looking for. This gave me a lot of false hope about how the night would go. The introductions and toasts went fine, but I wasn't expecting any hiccups (very simple stuff). We did provide a meal for him, but he took too long eating because when we wanted to start the video he wasn't ready. The biggest issue was the music he played throughout the evening. I had provided a very extensive list of songs and artists I like so he could really get the feel for the types of music I wanted him to play. We even talked about it beforehand. But he was way off for the whole night...at one point I saw two of my bridesmaids at his booth making a list of songs for him to play because no one was dancing and people weren't liking the music. I was pretty annoyed, because I had specifically taken the time to write out the kind of music I wanted. I asked for specific songs also, and I'm pretty sure I didn't hear ANY of them. I asked for a special announcement to surprise my new husband, and again didn't hear that either. I felt like my bridesmaids did his job. I also feel like I wasted precious pre-wedding time making a whole list of songs and artists to play, which wasn't even used. I have given very few one-star reviews, but the DJ was the one major flaw in an otherwise amazing reception experience.

Bandstand Music Omaha: Adds More Stress to Important Events…read more Bandstand Music was hired to provide the music equipment and DJ for our wedding reception. Prior to the event, our interactions with the group were very positive. Bandstand staff met with us several times, was attentive and intelligent about music, and seemed very capable. The night of the reception however, we were shocked at their lack of professionalism. The DJ showed up to the event almost an hour and a half late. Thinking the reception would have no music, the groom was forced to call Bandstand repeatedly as he was preparing to walk down the aisle. When the DJ did arrive he was in dirty, sweat stained clothing that he explained away puzzlingly by saying he had "just come from the farm." After the ceremony ended, as the family was taking a few moments together to take photos, he kept interrupting to ask the newly married bride and groom questions, interrupting a sweet family moment with small details that should have been asked prior to the wedding day (we had been told we would receive a confirmation phone call from Bandstand prior to the event and never did). We had established a reception order and a playlist beforehand with Bandstand, yet the DJ seemed confused about helping the reception move forward, and actually complicated the process of giving toasts and cutting the cake. Throughout the reception, there were long periods where he would disappear, only to be found later by the event planner in the kitchen having a cigarette or eating leftover wedding food. During one of his absences, some wedding guests tried to change the song themselves, but ended up pressing a wrong button and shutting the music off entirely. Rather than coming in to see what the problem was, the DJ remained gone for several minutes and other wedding guests had to climb into the DJ booth to figure out how to get the music back on, which they did. The DJ from Bandstand was the only real source of anxiety for our family in an otherwise flawless night. It is possible that their other DJs would have been better or more professional, but I would not recommend this group to anyone throwing a wedding because of the chance of hiring one of their inexperienced ones. In hindsight, I wish we would have saved the money, simply rented speakers from a rental company, and had a friend in charge of an ipod.
