They offer a wide selections of books, both well-loved (2nd-hand) and new, from Mystery, Romance, History, to Children's books. It is such a relaxing and peaceful experience to browse around the store, looking for a treasure to be found (You can also join their book club). If you are looking for a gift or souvenir, there are also small gifts such as stationary items or treats from local places like Lake Erie Candy Co. All the way in the back is a coffee shop that sources coffee from North Edge Craft Coffee (Erie's own roasting company), and a bakery, offering foods such as bagels and cupcakes. So far, I have only tried Chai tea latte and Dirty chai, but will definitely try other items in the future. My favourite part here, other than delicious drinks and books, are that they offer to buy back the book that you recently purchased, and will give you store credit to be used for your next purchase, or you can also bring in any books you currently own, and sell it to them for store credit. Grab a drinks, your favourite book and get lost in another world!

Now every time we visit, we grab a coffee from next door (Templeton's) and pop into Books in Stock to peruse the many, many, MANY shelves of books for at least a couple of hours, and always leave with a stack or two of wonderful finds. Apart from the vast selection that spans every genre you could possibly think of, the atmosphere in this shop is the true soul of this place. Two floors packed full of books (and that comforting old-book-smell) with chairs here and there should you care to plop down for a literary adventure. We've frequented many bookstores in many states, and this is still our favorite one. You'll almost always find what you're looking for - and probably leave with several books you didn't know you needed when you walked in.

There were whole aisles devoted to Christian books. All in all, not diverse but they do have nice books if you are looking for what they carry.

The Mythical Bookworm is probably the best place to buy used books, especially in the area…read more I used to order most of my books online, but since this shop has opened, they have a good 90% of everything I need. They receive new books frequently, and carry an impressively wide array of books, especially for such a small store. Prices are great, owners are friendly, and it's even got a pretty generous loyalty program. The only downsides to me are just standard stuff. Sometimes you'll buy a book and sometimes the inside will be full of someone else's annotations. That's happened before, but it's just a risk of buying used rather than new. Same goes for potentially not having the specific book you're looking for. These are sort of universal problems for used book stores though, and are well worth it for all of the benefits. Absolutely worth your time, especially if you live nearby.

They've closed the basement level and are sorting through the large inventory, curating what's on the shelves, and selling most of the used books for only $1-2 apiece. There's no longer a cat there, which is a little sad, but it does feel like a healthier environment and no longer a deterrent for folks with a cat allergy. I'm excited to see what's ahead for this friendly local business.
