This is probably one of my favorite businesses in the Santa Cruz area. The food is great for people who are vegetarian or are gluten-free. You leave feeling satisfied and satiated! My go-to order is always the good morning sandwich. It is balanced so well with the egg, sauce and hash brown. My partner usually goes for the spicy boy with gluten-free bread. I was running a little late for having breakfast after a meeting in Capitola and was craving eggs and toast. I read the reviews of this place and their "good morning" breakfast sandwich sounded perfect! They have a small parking lot but I was able to get a spot. The inside of their place is closed at this time, so you must order from a walk up window and eat outside. It was almost Noon so it was not a long line yet. The guy at the window was nice but you could tell he was used to the locals knowing what they wanted when ordering. I decided on their fresh lemonade to acvompany the sandwich. After placing your order, you round the corner to a pickup window for your food. It took about 10 minutes for my food since others were ahead of me sitting at patio tables in a small courtyard surrounded by ivy. Another courtyard was around the front too. More space to sit was definitely a plus! I was pleasantly pleased once I opened the sandwich wrapper. The ciabatta bread was fresh with a "yolk oozing egg" and a slight aioli sauce taste on the roll with a hashbrown too! One bite and it was delicious! My lemonade was fresh yet not too sugary. I love this place and their sandwiches. My friends and I particularly love that they offer gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options. I sadly ordered a California burger on a gluten free bun and got glutened :( I didn't realize the bun wasn't gluten free until halfway through and then had a super upset stomach and symptoms. The nicest servers and great food :) The group that I went to grab breakfast with was a bit big and they noticed we waited awhile so they offered a free cup of Chocolate Cinnamon soft serve I got the Iced Coconut Caramel Coffee and the Kid's Good Morning because I wanted a light breakfast. I got Mike's morning deluxe sandwich. I liked the crispy hashbrown but otherwise wasn't blown away. The cashier let me try a little taster of their coconut caramel latter and while it was super tasty, it was way too sweet for me. So I opted for their hot coffee. Unfortunately it was one of the worst cups of coffee I've ever had due to it tasting almost nothing like coffee and it had grinds of grinds/sediment floating in the cup. As this was our first time here, the person who took our order was very helpful with recommendations. Best restaurant ever they are my most fav thing ever I love how they are vegan and vegetarian. All of the workers are so so nice and friendly I'm so antisocial but there so cool I try and talk to them and omg so nice. They have the best food in town. They make the best fry's ever and there vegan each and aoli is to die for best sauce to be made. I love how many options there are it ranges from soups to burgers to there home made soft severs. I love there soft servers there's like a new flavor ever 2 weeks and there so unique. And sometimes there seasonal like at halween there was a pumpkin flavor. I love how inclusive they are there are gender neutral bathroom and that made me so happy being a trans guy. They have great places to eat whether you want shade or sun or a bench or a table. The food here is unreal! I can't believe how incredible everything tastes. We ordered the final meltdown, the pretty good burger and a kids meal with the grilled cheese. The ciabatta bread was so light and I've never had such a perfectly cooked egg in a sandwich. The meat alternative in the sandwich was soft and buttery sautéd mushrooms. The flavors were balanced yet somehow incredibly vibrant and made me want more. The burger tasted like a smash burger but with a bean patty. I thought it was great but I loved the meltdown. I needed some coffee for our road trip and was recommended the coconut coffee. The first sip shocked me so I immediately had to taste the kids lemonade. They were both unreal!! The coffee was once again subtle but so vibrant. And the lemonade! It was a yuzu lemonade but with an orange slice in it. They created something like a simple lemonade taste so complex! After we finished the food we had to order more so we ordered both the Meyer lemon ice cream and the churro. The ice cream was amazing! The lemon flavor came through and they perfectly balanced the sweetness and made me leave feeling that I could eat a gallon of it without feeling bad! And the churros! So soft in the middle and the raspberry jam was the most perfectly balanced jam I've ever tasted. We took the rest of the tiny jar home to put on our bread because I would not waste something that good. Coming from a guy who has been knocking vegetarian restaurants his whole life, I cannot wait to come here again on our next road trip. Some PGA: Make sure you visit PGA for tasty veggie and vegan friendly fare served up by an equally (everybody) friendly crew. We were visiting Soquel/SC for a few days and had dinner at PGA...and a repeat performance for breakfast before leaving town. The PGA cheeseburger was next level, and was, hands down, the best black bean burger I'd ever had. (I've never been a fan of black bean burgers, but the PGA version doesn't even taste like it has beans.) The wife got the Hot Cheesy with mushrooms and inhaled it almost as quickly as I made my PGA cheeseburger perform a Kaiser Soze impression. For breakfast, we both had The Good Morning sandwiches, which were a decadent way to kick off the day. The brioche alone was soft and spongy, and the mix of hash brown and aioli tied it all together. We arrived just before PGA opened and Beau hooked us up with coffee while we waited...and at no charge. Thanks again to the Yelp fam for making us aware of this spot. Great spot to grab a quick bite! All of the sandwiches we tried were delicious and satisfying. You can tell they use fresh ingredients and make it on the spot too. Everyone who worked there was sweet and welcoming, no matter how small or short our interaction was. There's no indoor seating, but there's a few tables around the counter where you order that you can sit at. After receiving a recommendation to try this place...and naively trusting the Yelp reviews, I ordered a meal from Pretty Good Advice. [Insert bad pun here.] I think it makes it worse because (a) it was for my family; and (b) it was a lot of food: five sandwiches (all types: spicy chicken sandwich, burgers, tofu scrambled sandwich), fries, and the vegan soft serve. Really wanted to love it, but everything but the soft serve was mediocre. From our group of vegans and omnivores, the general consensus is that the food was "meh." My mother, after getting about halfway through her cheeseburger, said, "If I was out in the middle of the forest, and I was really, really hungry, and someone gave me this, I'd be glad to have it." I'll let you make your mind up about the meaning of that. And it's not that I don't love the idea of this place. I love me some vegetarian fast food! BUT the execution was sadly just fair, and the easiest piece of this meal--in terms of preparation--would be the fries...the most disappointing of all. They were cold and had the texture that exposes the cardinal sin of having been prepared much earlier and then having been reheated: mealy and spongy. Terrible! Unfortunately we had several large orders of them, most of which ended up in the compost. So, although the workers were quite lovely, and they promptly fixed the sauce mishap that resulted in several containers of sauce melting and spilling out into the bag onto the food...the food was too bad to recommend this place to anyone. The Good: The young lady that assisted us was very patient and suggestive. We wanted to get as much of an experience from this place as possible and I noticed they had soft serve in both chocolate and horchata flavors. I couldn't decide which to try and the hostess offered a sample of each and I will say that both flavors were top tier and easily one of the best vegan ice creams I've had. There's an option to do half and half and she suggested to eat it with the fries. I also ordered the Hot Cheeze and my partner had the vegan along with a side of ranch. The fries with the soft serve are definitely a must! Especially with the horchata as it gives it almost a churro flavor. That combination along with the service gets 5 stars! The Bad: The location may seem a bit hidden but nothing too difficult to find just be sure to keep an eye out. Overall the place was very cute and well kept and the patio made for a nice eating area as well as the waiting area since there were benches and small tables. The Ugly: Not necessarily bad but also not memorable were the burgers. We added mushrooms to vegan burger and it definitely gave it flavor. I had originally ordered the hot cheezy vegan but I feel the hostess didn't quite catch me asking for that which is okay, although the cheese melted I was able to remove it. The hot cheezy was a grade below the vegan as far as flavor. Overall the burgers weren't anything to ride home about but also not the worse so they get 6 for the vegan and a 5 for the cheezy out of 10. read more
