Signature Fades 2 - My fade on the left / design provided on the right

Called ahead and spoke to Nathan on my request. Wanted to get a fade in the back and also cut my…read morehair short to donate. Also if he can cut women hair. Nathan was very friendly and I came in at 6pm to go over the design I found and how short my hair can go. It is my first time doing a fade, so we didn't go with the original design I wanted as I would have to cut more hair in the back. I decided to go with a very simple design to test out. He then told me he doesn't really cut women hair and will be a blunt cut. I guess I didn't realize what a "Blunt cut " meant and told him that I was fine with a straight bob. So he had to find hair ties to put my hair in ponytails, which he did do 3 sections. I was able to have 12 inches of hair cut for donation. Then he did the blunt cut, which tells me he doesn't work with long hair at all. Next he worked on the fade next, which was great on the bottom. However I noticed later he didn't make a straight line at the top. I asked him if there is someone else that can help clean up the bob, so I didn't have to go to another hair salon. Thankfully I was lucky that Nayely was available and was able to fix and clean my straight bob. (Nathan was very nice to not charge me and just had me pay for Nayely service). So my experience here is to just only go here for a fade. They are independent stylists and can pay with cash or Zelle. The salon is very clean and everyone that greeted or spoke to were very friendly.

However, I showed him a photo of what I was looking for and he felt defensive as I was noticing the cut not turning out the way I wanted. He later began to try to disrespect me by asking if "I have been to a barber before" and making it seem like his customers can't provide feedback. In addition, he told me that I was making the cut take longer because of me having cordial conversation during the process. I told him to leave my beard undone and I'll fix it myself. He tried to upcharge from the quoted price of $50 to $75 just because he was upset or in his feelings. If someone in a professional setting personally feels attacked or "less than" because of criticism then don't be customer facing. Didn't know not being satisfied with a cut was attacking someone's manhood.

I didn't realize that I never finished my review from 5 months ago. Perhaps there had been some…read morechanges since my last visit, but my understanding was that this establishment was a cash only business. When you walked in, there are no signs that indicates pricing, there wasn't a register or counter that you can check in with a person. We kind of stood in by the door and shouted "hello" until a barber who was just walking out of the back room acknowledged us. There were 3 other barbers working on clients at the time, but the music was loud and they were super focused on what they were doing, we were just simply ignored. My kid sat down with the barber that greeted us and described what he wanted to him. Barber starts on his hair immediately and I had to jump in and ask about their pricing. And because there were no signs or even logos of what kind of credit cards they took, I also asked if they took Visa, and that was when I was told it was cash only. So the barber goes back to working on my kids hair, then he abruptly stopped and started playing with his phone. It turns out he didn't like the song that was playing, and started scrolling through his phone to change the music! The barber did a great job on the fade on my kid's hair. We paid $17 ( that is with a $2.00 tip) for the haircut. Overall, this establishment need to work on their business etiquette, client servicing, and put up some signs for the front of the building that indicates they are there, and a sign for pricing.
