They asked my permission to change their bid for the job, and thought that I shouldn't mind them changing their price substantially. Of coarse I declined. A mans word should be steadfast! On a blazing hot friday afternoon, we sat in our Honda Odyssey attempting to wiggle and jostle our key into the ignition. Out of nowhere, no matter what we did, it simply would not go in! We might as well have been using the wrong key! My husband employed the classic "fix all" solution of banging on the steering wheel but to no avail. Instead of going to a birthday party, we stayed home stranded that night, dreading what this repair would mean for us financially. How on earth would we even get the van to the dealership for repair? We'd have to get it towed...adding extra expense and inconvenience. On Saturday we called the Honda dealership and they vaguely explained our options to us which included the "expensive way" and then something to do with them taking something to a locksmith, but they said we'd have to wait because "locksmiths are NEVER open on weekends". Well, on Sunday my husband decided to go straight to the source and googled locksmiths in our area. He decided to call Prestige since they advertised 24/7 service. They answered right away and told us that they see this particular problem about once a month and that it would be no problem to fix. They offered to fix it right away (on a Sunday!) for $225 or we could save $50 by waiting until Monday. And the best part was that they came right to our house! No towing necessary! The two person crew from Prestige Lock Service arrived promptly on Monday morning and quickly went about their business fixing up the ignition. Furthermore, they were professional but still took the time to be friendly to my 6 and 3 year old sons who are always ready to chat! Anyone who can fix a non-operational vehicle in under an hour and talk baseball and ninja stars for a nominal $175 is a hero in my book! Good job Prestige Lock Service! I don't write reviews ever, but after calling my car dealership to replace a key and reprogram it I was shocked by the cost. My brother had used these guys before and highly recommended them. I was able to get two keys made plus reprogrammed for less than the price of one key and reprogramming at the dealership. Not only did they save me the long drive to Sacramento from Yuba City they came right to my house less than 30 minutes after calling. Once they arrived it took about 10 minutes and I had two new keys. I found the mobile service extremely helpful I'm new to the area and driving far with my one year old is challenging.
