Even stranger is the sign inside that says "Le Spot restaurant where we treat our customers with respect".. meanwhile right beneath the sign is this woman looking at me like I'm annoying her by being there.. respect... yea right.. a hello would be nice to start.. the owner on the other hand is really nice.. the servers need some pointers on customer service.. The food is great which is why I come back, the tassot and sois pwa noir is always great, the akra, the white rice, the griot, all things that I've tried multiple times and they are always tasty. Advice to the owner, maybe explain to the wait staff that just because their serving food, doesn't mean that their a "bon" there's nothing shameful in being a waiter so lose the attitude.

The service is quite good from the door to your table. You're here for delicious food and really great live music. Parking is available. I came here back in August, and it was not a good experience. To start off, the options were very…read morelimited, and they only had like 8 large containers of food, which is not a lot. And the employees there were not nice either, and this is why I gave it one star. Some lady with a bun and a head wrap was not being nice and outright told me in Creole, "I thought you weren't Haitian because you don't look Haitian," and that seems very judgmental. I was even giving her weird looks to show her that. Mind you, I was with three other people in my family who are Haitian as well, and she was saying that your job is to serve food to people, not make comments about their identity because you want to. It was just rude. When I asked for her name, she said it was Antalise or alise she probably gave me some fake name because she knew I was going to complain about her sorry self, which I did. The owner himself didn't really seem to take it seriously either. He was giggling the whole time like it was nothing. If this Haitian restaurant actually knew something about its culture and its people. They would know. That being Haitian comes in all shades, but they wouldn't know that. I would never come here again. 0/10.

The ordering is somewhat disordered--wait in line but some loud speaking person will randomly stand in front of you, shout something, walk off, walk back, shout again n get their food. Staff seemed to have limited English proficiency and the patrons in line I tried to engage in convo for advice, spoke English fluently, but weren't really interested in providing much more info than basics "chicken stew. Not spicy. Ehhh bon soir du riz blancs bla bla" (I got stuck at "bon soir? It's only 1pm, y'all jonesing for night I guess") Hot af inside. Food? OUTSTANDING loved the jerky texture and salted delish. Great prices. Griot was delish but a lil more fat pieces than other places. Idk many into deep fried fat chunks but I imagine a delicacy for Haitians Con: lotsa delicious looking food. No one available or willing to explain. Hot af inside even with full ac.

In search of legit creole fritaille (fried everything) I stumbled upon this buffet restuarant. Ideal for take out like many haitian owned restuarants. This place doesn't have much of a ambiance, decorated like your aunt's kitchen with very few seats. Again, this place is ideal for dish out and go service. I am addicted to Picklès. Pickled style cabbage with hot peppers (very similar to what is served with Jamaican Escovitch style fish). Haitians eat it with everything. I ordered baked chicken, fried pork (Griot), fried Okra (ackra), white rice, black rice and ofcourse haitian style macaroni and cheese (served with Ziti style noodles). I believe I spent $12 a plate, which was well worth the quality and HUMONGOUS portion provided. If you're in search of a distinct home cooked meal, you must visit.
