You can spend some decent time here browsing and perusing the magazine selection and I've never been booted out once. Ah, those Canadians are so nice! Decent candy selection but I'm still upset they got rid of Mack's Toffee from their lineup. So I end up getting some variety of Nestle bars instead. It Carrie's other things as well, such as souvenirs, cigarettes and candy, but a vast majority of its stock is actual magazines. I for one love this type of store and hope it stays, but these are digital times so who knows. For now, I'm getting something to read! Staff is friendly, but nothing over the top. Still, a good store and a good place to get your favorite periodical.

My dad would always get the Saturday edition each week. It had Starweek, the entertainment magazine with TV listings, crossword puzzles, and more. I don't think this magazine exists anymore. I liked the comics and entertainment sections the most. Over the years, I ended up reading everything. When I was looking for a summer job, I'd look at the classifieds. I managed to work a couple of summers during my high school years. There's currently a digital subscription special. It's $1 for six months of online access. After that period, it's $28 a month. I believe that after a certain number of article reads that you do online, you get a message to subscribe. I oddly don't get it now and I'm not sure why. I do subscribe to getting a daily synopsis of tops stories in my inbox. It's nice to be informed. The Food and Drink section is great. I like the occasional recipe and what's trending in the greater Toronto area. I also like restaurant recommendations, including the best diners in the GTA. I'll probably stick to accessing articles digitally than getting the physical paper delivered to my door. Getting the top stories in my inbox for free is nice. (100)

Since aside from daily local news and all those ads and classified, there are good recipes and news of Hollywood stars. The printing and the colours are all good quality and quite eye pleasing! Their online version is nicely layout too... and you can read all the back dated versions in case if you forgot to pick up a copy on your way to work. It is distributed Monday to Friday only.

I buy Esquire and GQ, and they often don't have both versions (British and American) where you'd expect them to. Otherwise, top shelf selection and still a go to for magazines!
