So, I'm flying into ATL and I decided to check IG to see which salons recently posted great content with their silk press stylist so I came across Press Bar Salon in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Well in NYC all of the good silk pressed salons and hair stylists have all of these appointment requirements and it really felt so good to see this salon state that they accept walk-ins and just to call prior to coming in. Well, let's just say this was the best hair treatment that I have received in a very long time well 5 years to be exact. I went natural and this was my very first silk press and yes I got the works done. Let's just start with the amazing customer service I received when I just walked in and then the ambiance was just as amazing a the service. My stylist was Jonyece and she was very professional and she made sure that I was aware of all of my services and she definitely had the hands of magic because my natural hair came out so beautiful. The services I received was a black color, treatment, trim, wash and blow. Happy to say I now have a go to salon in Georgia. I would definitely recommend this salon to any of my natural yelpers out there looking for a natural salon where they can get an amazing silk press. read more

First of all, what is listed on the website as a "service" really isn't available at the location-for example, the "Blow & Go" may be what they are referencing as "Neat"? Nonetheless, my point is...I walked in for a "Blow & Go with a trim", I had been growing out my "baby bob" for 2 months. My hair was almost shoulder length and doing well, i just needed a little "dusting" of my ends. Walked out with an AWFUL MUSHROOM with layers cut in the back, no blending on the sides...I mean totally messed up a 2 year process of hair growth. Not to mention the "hostess" washed my hair and brushed it wet? I've been told this is a "no-no" in Haircare. Stylist didn't even clean the combs between clients, dropped the comb on the floor and just picked it up and continued to use it. DO NOT TRUST THEM AS I DO NOT BELIEVE ANYONE AT THE FACILITY FIR LICENSED!!!! BTW...I leave for a trip today and couldn't even sleep last night, that's how jacked-up my head looks! Definitely disputing the charge and looking into legal representation! read more

I walked-in without an appointment after seeing that their website encouraged this. Unfortunately, the wait to get a Blowjito would have been 1 hour so I drove to their other location just 20 minutes away to be seen immediately. So, be sure to call them ahead of time to check that they can accommodate you and see if there is any wait time. The staff were extremely pleasant, kind and helpful. Once I got to their other location, staff were also extremely pleasant and professional and did a phenomenal job on my hair (scalp detox treatment, blow out, flat iron, and curl). This will be my go-to salon any time I'm in town! read more

The receptionist is very nice. However, the salon does not have stylists. You cannot get a cut or style. Your options are limited to wash, color, condition, trim, and press. I paid just under $200 (at a discount) for all services I mentioned. My husband saw my hair and thought I changed my mind and decided not to get my hair done. read more

I went to the Suwanee location for a silk press. The salon is beautiful and everyone was nice, except for the stylist who washed and blow dried my hair... she seemed to be in a bad mood and didn't say anything other than "sit here" to me... which is fine I know everyone has bad days. What really bothered me is... 1. It took forever for them to finish my hair. A lady walked in as I was getting my hair shampooed, got the same service as I, had much thicker hair and was out the door while I was still getting my hair blow dried. However I will mention she had an OG stylist and apparently the person tending to me was new. 2. Sooooo much heat was used on my hair. It was blowed dry with a high heat blow dryer and a brush while it was soaking wet... I have never had that done before. Literally spent 20 minutes getting my hair fried by the new stylist and then when I moved to the flat ironing station my hair had to be blowed dried more because the first stylists attempt was inadequate (which I knew b/c my hair wasn't as straight as it normally is after a blow out) 3. My hair was not very straight after flat ironing and for that reason I am glad I chose to get curls because it wasn't as noticeable. The lady who flat ironed my hair was sweet and I'm sure she does great work but I think the bad blow out ruined the press. Sadly I also ended up with heat damage and I djd not flat iron my hair once after leaving the salon :( I love supporting black owned businesses but I definitely would think twice about coming here again. read more

I went to the Press Bar in Grayson on April 15, 2024 for color and a silk press. I went up there prior to my appointment for a consultation and everything was fine. On Saturday, I get there and waited because they didn't have the color and had to make the color?!?! Fast forward the color took to my roots and not the rest of my hair. Stylist said oh you would need to come back to get color to blend more and whatever. I had an event to attend that night so I let it go but had planned to return Sunday because I was not pleased (see pictures below) my hair looked like a carrot I was disappointed. Sunday I get a call from manager and explained to her no told me my hair was too dark for the color and advise me to probably reconsider a different color. She then offers to have another stylist to come and correct my color Tuesday the 18th cool. i get there Tuesday and she tries to tell me I'm going to have to pay the other stylist for styling my hairs I'm not no ma'am I just paid 200plus dollars and it's yall fault and not you want to pay again. so the stylist recolors my hair and I dont pay but I'm here today and for me to have had my hair colored twice my grays are already back. there's not way my hair color should be gone especially after being doubled process with color. My grays don't come back that fast when I color my own hair at home. I'm highly upset that I paid all this money for me to not get the color I wanted and not looking for another stylist to cover up my color. I will never again us them for any services. read more

I'm a very tolerant person. My only concerns are that you are respectful to me as a customer and that you provide the service I pay for. With that being said, I was genuinely pleased with my experience at Pressbar. I was looking for a natural hair salon in the area that could give me a basic wet cut (no heat); just a cut/shape up at an affordable price. I paid $30 for the service, not including tip. Ari was my stylist and she did an amazing job. She was kind and considerate of my preferences as a client. Thank you so much! I'll be back again. read more

I used to go to the one off Hurricane Shoals. I haven't been to the new Grayson location yet, but I did go to the Suwannee location on MLK Day. Ava Little was the only stylist on duty, but baby, when I tell you she whipped our heads into shape like it wasn't nothing!! Yes, we (there were 3 of us being serviced) had to wait a little longer than normal. But Ava was cool, calm, and took her time on each one of us. I'm on day 3 of my Press Tini, and I look like I've JUST stepped out of the salon. I just love, love, love how the energy and the atmosphere at PressBar is always positive and how the customer service is top notch. You can tell that positivity comes from the Top! When getting a service at PressBar in Grayson be sure to repeat the services you WANT. I went in wanting an Blojito ( press and style) , amino acid , and trim. The results of my hair turned out fine but I was not happy with the fact that I asked for a TRIM and saw that 3 inches of my hair was CUT OFF BECAUSE IT LOOKED BEST TO THE STYLIST. I guess their policy is to cut off as much hair so it looks healthy but that wasn't what I asked for. But in general the salon is very cute with the chosen decor and price are nice. read more

I've been to both the Grayson and Duluth locations and both are PHENOMENAL! 1st - the overall vibe is immaculate! I love the whole bar theme. You can chose from the menu of services to create a "cocktail" of services that will have your hair hydrated, silky, and with body. 2nd- I truly believe that when I'm looking to have a service, that it should be an experience. PressBar delivers on every point! Every Bartender (what they call their stylists) and team member are so warm and welcoming. Now let's talk skill and talent... All of these ladies are GIFTED and really care about the health of your hair. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, and I can tell that's she's chosen the cream of the crop to join her team. I'm new in town and have been looking for a trusted place to get my hair done. So did some digging and came across pressbar salon. First off the rip when I called, receptionist was very very welcoming and made me aware that I came come today and receive service and provided me with all necessary information. Once I arrived, literally everything was great, efficient process, clean, respect Covid guidelines and most importantly all stylist are very welcoming!
