The setting for the ceremony was absolutely beautiful and guests had a wonderful four-day weekend stay enjoying the lakefront property. The reception hall provided an intimate setting for the dinner and ample space for the bar and dance floor. The large outdoor patio, with umbrellaed tables, was an additional place for guests to gather and socialize. Initially, our only concern was the cost incurred by our guests who stayed on site. This concern turned out to be completely unfounded. The rooms were spacious enough for our daughter's friends to share a room and their costs ended up being far less than an even modestly priced motel in the area. To stay at a beautiful lakefront location with such fine amenities, was an incredible deal. The staff at Sojourn were outstanding. Joy had her finger on the pulse at all times, guiding us through steps and procedures, managing reservations, and responding to any questions or concerns promptly and efficiently. Chelsey was our main contact person on the day of the rehearsal and the wedding. She helped organize the wedding party, establishing procedures and timing and coordinating the music. With her guidance, the wedding ceremony went very smoothly. Chelsey was available throughout the reception as well. We are very grateful for Joy and Chelsey; with their help, this wedding was everything we hoped it would be.

Then, the layout for the outdoor ceremony right in front of the lake was dreamy (the folding chairs are never comfy, though, ha!) from the floral trellis to the sound system. Everyone moved into a deluxe tent for appetizers and cocktail party. It's well heated and sturdy enough to forget it's a tent. Then we moved into the building for the reception. The cabin is gorgeous - outdoorsy touches and decor abound. It's heaven for Instagram updates (actually, the whole resort is). When the sun sets, the light pouring in makes it somewhat challenging to stay cool but the light blast didn't last long. The indoor bar/lounge between the tent and building is a nice addition for the evening. There is a very small ladies restroom and if it's the only one, they could use another.
