The cabins are very comfortable and up to date with satellite tv service, comfortable beds, relaxing sitting area with overstuffed furniture and a fireplace. However, the best thing my wife likes is the hot tub! There's nothing like a hot soak to loosen you up after spending a day running all over the place with our son. One of the best perks you get is you can request fresh eggs to be delivered to your cabin porch which you can make for breakfast in the fully equipped kitchen. HIGHLY recommend this place!

There was a hot tub. Press plenty of amenities minus a washer and dryer. The best were very soft. I like how each room had their own bathroom. Cons: the code did not work we were given, and we were given a general code. The instructions did not include a cabin number, and we accidentally walked in on someone else staying in the other cabin after she gave us a generic code. They kept find bugs inside which take that with a green assault because it is out on the country. The hot tub took forever to get warm. The fridge froze all our food. I did not see an option to lower the temperature. There was also someone shaking our door on our last day there I don't know if they also had a generic code or we're confused on the cabin number if the other cabin had guests coming, i didn't tell my quest as I didn't want to scare her. Still would be a nice cabin to stay in again if they made some changes and wore more thorough and what cabin you were staying in.

The first three years we have been thrilled with our accommodations but not so for Cabin at Mountain Glen. At first glance, it looks wonderful and quaint. We were met by owner, Rose, who showed us the cabin's amenities. She even had some fresh muffins from the bakery and fresh ground coffee, something that no other cabin owner has done for us. That's where the niceties end. The cabin wasn't the cleanest cabin I've been in, that's for sure. The couch actually looked quite gross. The shower heads were so full of lime scale and so were the jets for jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. The hot tub jets didn't really come out very strong - that might just be the way they were constructed - or it could also be due to lime scale. When Rose showed me the hot tub there was quite a bit of calcium deposition on the seat and she even told me that their water was full of calcium. So, I rent a two bedroom cabin - ALWAYS. You see my husband and I don't sleep in the same bed. He has restless leg syndrome and I and an extremely light sleeper. I get awakened by every move he makes and he makes 1,000's in one evening. (Well, that might be a bit of an exaggeration.). So, I went to put my bag in the upstairs bedroom and there was a padlock on the door. I called Rose and while I'm sure she would have come back to the cabin to help us out, she didn't seem to happy to do so. She told me that would be an extra charge and so I just thought I didn't read something right on the rental agreement and I told her that we would figure something out. The living room soda was a sofa bed so we figured my husband could sleep there. Well, it had no sheets. There were no sheets for it anywhere in the cabin. That night was not a very restful night for either of us. The next morning it was quite cold. I didn't want to turn the heat on so I tried to turn the fireplace on but couldn't find the remote anywhere. My husband decided to call Rose and talk to her about the bedroom, the sleeper sofa and the fireplace. He did and his tone was actually quite pleasant. Rose on the other hand came unglued on the other end. She was extremely defensive. The gist of the conversation was: 1) there was an extra fee for the second bedroom (even though only two people were staying there); 2) there was an extra fee for linens for the sleeper sofa (absurd); and 3) they hadn't turned the gas on for the fireplace yet and weren't planning on it. Well, he told her that it didn't state any of this on the website and her attitude got worse. We did have her come to the cabin to open the second bedroom and we paid the extra fee - even though there was nothing ANYWHERE ON THE WEBSITE OR ON THE RENTAL AGREEMENT that indicated that this would be the case. (At one point, when she came to open the bedroom and make up the second bed - it wasn't made up yet - she even threatened to kick us out. That was comical - we didn't do anything wrong - we simply wanted to use the bedroom we rented.) I will NEVER rent from her again.

I spent a lot of time an effort researching car rental companies in Puerto Vallarta. I needed to…read morerent a car for 3 day (van actually). All of the websites kept listing really low prices for the rental. Once I did the research, I found that theses companies were requiring me to buy their insurance at crazy, expensive prices. They keep this little fact hidden until you show up. I did not want to purchase their insurance because my credit card will cover me. However, if you choose to go this route the rental car companies charge a $5000-$10,000. deposit. I can do this but it is a really big hassle. Then I contacted icarental by email. The owner George called me and the price to rent the van for 3 days is half of what the other car rental places were charging me without the hassle. He is going to meet me at the PV airport when I land. I will sign the rental contract, then off I go. When I return the car I am to park it in the parking lot and then icarental will come and pick it up. I am renting from them on Sept 1. I will update this after my trip.

This is so relaxing with a jacuzzi and the most comfortable bed with perfect pillows. We had a nice hike and when we came back the shower was perfect. You step out to warm room from the ceiling heater/fan and wrap yourself in a warmed towel. Put comfort. We were close to 12 wineries and enjoyed the long cal eatery Blue Boar. Delicious too. It was easy to find and the owner, Rebecca, met us late Friday to show us the room as we had to drive in from St. Louis. The room was even nicer looking than the pictures and had all the amenities as promised! The room was very clean and welcoming. The jacuzzi tub was AMAZING and even had aromatherapy bath gel to use. My favorite feature aside from the tub was definitely the towel warmer in the bathroom. It's hard to beat a warm towel when you are stepping out of the shower! I even used it to warm up my bathrobe, which was also provided. If you are looking for a romantic weekend getaway, this is the place to go. We were so close to the wine trail, which we enjoyed Saturday, and loved being out in nature away from it all but still close enough to get back onto the highway without trouble. At 1.4 miles of this nine mile trail I had to turn back because the trail was impassable with fallen trees and overgrowth. It didn't look like a recent tree downing, it appeared to have been here awhile. I don't think these trails are used very often. Maybe I got off trail. Hard to tell since it was not well marked either. Maybe people only go half a mile and turn back. I had to jump in the lake afterwards to rinse off any potential poison oak/ivy oils. Either way I would not recommend the red loop for running. If you enjoy bushwhacking, running with a machete, and doing volunteer trail maintenance then this trail is perfect for you. That's the only situation where I would suggest this trail for running. Best of luck out there.

She was very knowledgeable about the trails here as well as local history. She obviously loves her job and that is a wonderful thing to see. The center itself was very nice with a large number of taxidermy birds and mammals. The history of Indians and the forced march they had to endure is focal point of this park. The park offers some good views out over the mighty Mississippi River. We will return to hike the trails on another day!
