I have dealt with this company in the past - same sales person and everything!! I have had good luck!! Not only are their prices higher than most in town but they say that 40-50% dirt in the screened rock is perfectly acceptable!!! This company advertises "free delivery " on orders 8 tons and over. How can a company claim free delivery when they charge for fuel as a "surcharge". Doesn't that mean it's not free or does my interpretation of "free" get completely skewed? I look up the definition of free: "without cost or payment." I look up the definition of delivery: " the action of delivering letters, packages, or ordered goods" So when I put them together...... the action of delivering letters, packages, or ordered goods without cost or payment" and when you add a fuel surcharge, it is NO LONGER FREE. I have paid nearly $100 in 5 "free deliveries" by ordering the 8 tons of goods to avoid delivery fees... where is that "free"? This is just another hidden cost that you don't realize until it's paid for. There are other surcharges you're allowed to charge, go for and rake your customers thoroughly Read their advertisement on yelp, nowhere on here is there any word about fuel surcharge, BUT THEY SURE DO ADVERTISE FREE DELIVERY It's like a auto dealer advertising a free car, but you have to buy the tires, engine, doors, mirrors etc. read more

I had two loads of the planters mix delivered to the Grand Canyon, I am very disappointed in this mix. I put it my raised beds in the greenhouse and outside and the more I water it the more it turns to sand. The PH is over 8 and it has little to no fertility. If you are trying to grow your own vegetables do not buy this mix from here. When I called them they offered no compensation or any sort of help. read more

Poor quality material with zero integrity. Had q0 tons of rip rap delivered, which is material to be between 4-8 inches. Half or more was small gravel and dirt, which they do say is their policy and standard. Ridiculous. Better material with comparable pricing from other companies in the area. I was fixing up my back yard for a family get-together. They delivered on time, and when I ran short, put me on a cancellation list and got the gravel to me 3 days in advance of my scheduled delivery, which allowed me to have the job done for the family visit. We purchased what they call a 'planters mix'. It was full of rocks and debris and we even found feces. They say it is 'topsoil' from the banks of a river? Water barely penetrates and when it finally soaks in turns into sludgy mud. Nothing we planted did well even after trying to amend it further. In the end it cost us more to have it hauled away. Customer service is poor. There was no willingness to make things right when the problems were brought to the owner's attention because it had 'been too long to test any soil left'. Very disappointed and would not recommend. read more

I had a load of rock delivered by Calvin. When Calvin saw the condition of the area he explained that I would need fabric placed over the tiny pebbles and left over lava rock that was on the ground. If I did not place the fabric my new heavier rock would sink to the botte and it would look like a mess in a matter of months. My landscaper had earlier made a point to tell me -no fabric. That was corrected. I saw the light after Calvin explained everything to me and I now have confidence my yard will remain looking neat in the years to come. Thanks, Calvin! read more

It is a shame that there are so few reviews for Prescott Dirt. I purchased several trucks of the "ultimate driveway compound" and some rip-rap for my driveway remodel and I couldn't be happier. Daniel was super helpful and steered me toward the driveway compound. He was extremely knowledgeable and after putting down the rock I have to say he knows his stuff. My driveway looks amazing and the driveway compound is easy to work with and honestly you can't beat the price. Les and Brandon were the drivers who delivered and they were great. Brandon was super helpful, spreading the material down the driveway and making piles where I needed it. I can't say enough good things about Prescott Dirt. I have personally had to deal with the owners of this business, both Daniel and Samantha. They promise to deliver a product that has a waiver that up to 50% of what is delivered could be dust and not ground cover rock. Unfortunately, my last delivery was more like 75% dust but I paid for 100% rock. Their solution was that they would send me more, and waive the delivery charge. Wow, they hung up on me when I said I was not going to pay for the same product for yet a 3rd time, and I threatened to charge the transaction back through my bank; Daniel said go for it; I win those all the time. Not exactly a great way to foster good customer service or loyalty read more

We had some damage done to our yard by one of the trucks on a prior delivery. We called the company about what happened and the owner was very good and made things right. We just now got another 50 ton and the drivers were very courteous and professional about where to dump and where to drive through. A good company to work with. I ordered 10 tons of driveway rock to be delivered on Monday May 23 it was supposed to be delivered between 1 and 3 at 3:40 I called and left a message at 3:55 I had to call back since no one returned my call and spoke to a lady who said they were running behind. No apology for not informing me. The truck finally arrived at 4:45. This is just a terrible way to run a business I had borrowed a neighbors tractor and ended up not being able to use it and ended up moving it all with a shovel. Next time I'll order it from anyone but them. read more
