This is an excellent find in Cuba, NM. We were traveling through in our way to northern NM, it was a Sunday and our first pick was closed. I read the prior reviews and the Carve Adovado review perked my interest. It lived up to that review! Excellent, spicy, tender, just the right sauce consistency! I can't wait to travel through again. Service was a bit slow, but many restaurants are suffering from that in NM due to COVID restrictions. It ended up being a pleasant diversion from travels and a tasty meal, too! read more

We really enjoyed our meals here, and finished the breakfast off with a piece of chocolate cake plus vanilla ice cream! Terrific spot ... worth every penny. Hadn't eaten there in a year used to be a good place for value and Mexican food. Ordered enchilada plate of green chili with meat enormous plate 90% gelatinous, white and yellow cheese with onions cooked had to search. With my fork to find the two enchiladas and any meat 90% gelatin cheeses for $14 I could not eat half of the food. It was so bad. But the nice waitress was wonderful Nice and responsive had to do all the table busing and waiting on four tables at the same time the only waitress. We ate here for lunch one day while passing through. We got there late for lunch, so the place was pretty empty when we arrived, though a few people came in later. We got some chips and salsa when seated, and I ordered a chimichanga, which was good. They also gave us some sopapillas later on, which were also good, though unfortunately, we either didnt notice them or forgot about them until we were too full to eat them. Regardless, we liked this place. I would definitely eat here again, and would be happy to try some of the other things on the menu. It's true, the restaurant is understaffed and because they didn't have a dishwasher they served our meals in Styrofoam containers. However, our meals were amazing. This place is one of the few on the drive between Albuquerque and Durango. Don't think it is a good place to stop, even if you are starving. Eat a snack or go across the street and buy a bag of chips. If you do eat here make sure during the check out process you watch the slide of hands and get an itemized receipt. We got the total and they could not explain how they got there. The tax was just added on as a flat rate. I believe the waitress added to the check to get a tip at her own rate. read more

Stopped for lunch on the return drive from Bloomfield. Just pulled in! The lady seemed to be working most arena's for lunch! They were reasonably busy! Told us food would be served in to go containers, because she didn't have a dishwasher! The Burger was great! Impressed! Service was spot on and pleasant! Stopped in 30 minutes ago with my wife while driving towards Albuquerque. Parking lot was full. Walked in to find one woman waiting all the tables. About half the tables were full. One large party had food and the rest didn't even have menus. The waitress/hostess ignored my wife and I and made a point to seat the people behind us first. 20 minutes later, that group still did not even have their menu. Someone else's baby had clearly pooped in her diaper and the restaurant smelled pretty bad. We were never once acknowledged by the waitress, most of the other patrons seemed content to sit in silence waiting for their menus. This place has fantastic reviews so maybe today was an anomaly. This place is a 3.5 star restaurant. Given the location and options, I leaned towards the higher side. The waitresses aren't overly outgoing, but the food was fast and pretty good. They give the smallest bowl of chips for a table (think small salad bowl for 1 person) and the menu says a refill os $6.50. That's nuts! I'd never pay $6.50 for a small bowl of chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant. Either way, our food came so fast, that we didn't need another bowl. And the portions for our meals were very generous, so we were definitely full when we left. read more

We are on our way from Albuquerque to Telluride. Family of seven. We left Albuquerque thinking we should have eaten lunch but were hoping we could make it to the next big town to get a good and healthy meal for the children. We thought we would roll the dice and try this restaurant and we are glad we did. The people were extremely nice that ran this place. The burritos, grilled cheese sandwiches, french fries and jalapeño poppers, etc. were absolutely delicious. To top it all off the bathrooms as well as the restaurant were immaculate. We stopped by for a quick lunch on our way through town after seeing the great reviews on Yelp. The food was excellent, as was the service. We were greeted warmly upon our arrival, with no wait. Our order was taken promptly and cooked by the owner, himself. I got the nachos supreme, which was way more than I could eat by myself. We all enjoyed our meals, which included a big bowl filled with homemade sopapillas. They were fantastic and the honey they were served with was the real deal. Stopped here for breakfast on our way to Chaco Canyon. Great huevos rancheros with green chili. The hash browns made this dish. Their green chili does have pork in it. The French toast needed more of a soak. Great sausage patties, bacon tasted strange. They offer breakfast burritos smothered in chili or hand held. The burritos are huge! Also on offer: pancakes, biscuits and gravy, egg sandwiches. Friendly service and clean bathrooms. A solid choice for breakfast. read more
