    Tamale plates

My wife and I each had the tamale plate. We selected the red chili sauce instead of green. The heat level was perfect. We ordered the chips and salsa and they both are freshly made and I really liked the salsa. The sopapilla's were very good with the honey. We are from Texas so we don't get them very often. Everything is made there and it shows it. The service was very good and friendly. Definitely a repeat restaurant stop.

Ed's Cuban Cafe is a most delicious place to eat! Nothing fancy, just great food, hot coffee, and friendly waitresses, all at a great price!

Had fantastic chili rellianos, sopapillas, served with honey. Delicious warm fresh tortilla chips, both corn and flour served gratis with the meal. Prices are incredibly reasonable, too much food for one meal, had to take half of it to go. Definitely recommend this place your first or last stop on the way through Cuba New Mexico.

Adam is the perfect person to introduce one to his family's establishment. Explains everything for the newbies. Patient and erudite. Such poise in such a young person. It's a small dining area. Clearly a local fave. Phone was ringing off the hook. But many clearly knew their way around. A few ppl walked in, placed their order and said they'd be back at such and such a time. There's only a small kitchen We got to mean Domenic, our cook A sweetheart and a skilled chef. The food itself seems straightforward and pretty simple, but each dish had its own flavor which I think is pretty hard to do and each was so satisfyingly delicious. I think I would've bn satisfied with just the menudo and the half order of nachos, but didn't know it at the time we ordered so we went on and got the El Faro burger, my friend ordered the cheese enchiladas and of course we got the chile Christmas on the side. Fantastic! And a tremendous value. We were quite shocked that our entire meal, including 2 sodas came to less that $40, such that we left double that bc these small businesses are such treasures and we want such places to remain in business. Seemed there were quite a few locals but also lots of travelers coming through. I certainly plan to be back soon!

The enchiladas consisted of small hard bits of meat scattered through a soupy mix of shredded cheese and watery red sauce. I understand that this restaurant has a storied past, and was previously a favorite stop for many former governors. But I fear those days are long past.

April 10, 2026. Friday. Lunch…read more A co-worker and I stopped here for lunch after working in the nearby forest. It was around 2 PM so it seemed more like a linner. We were famished and he raved that this joint had recently won the best GCCB contest at the State Fair. Reviews said service could be very slow here. When we strode in, the place had absolutely no light. I could barely make out the taxidermy buck deer over our table. Waitress told us the electricity had gone out about ten minutes before we arrived. It took her about ten more minutes to take our order. We sat in the dark, but used my friend's cell phone to light up the menus. I ordered a Western Burger with french fries for $18. My friend bought me lunch since he had lost a March Madness bracket pick to me. The Western burger came with cheddar, bacon, onion rings and bbq sauce. This burger came stacked high with crispy bacon and thick onion rings. They had crispy fries and the meal filled me up and tasted very good. We probably waited thirty minutes for our food and ate it in the dark. I would say my burger was 8/10 and fries were 9/10. The service quite slow and the darkness uncontrolled by the staff. They powered through and probably cooked our burger on a gas stove.

If you're ever traveling through the Jemez Mountains, the Los Ojos Saloon is a must see and experience.
