This was the worst food I have ever had. My second time here because there's only 3 restaurants in town and one was closed. How do you ruin a BLT? Both the bacon and toast were ice cold and most likely left over from breakfast. Our cousins ordered Country Fried Steak and their mashed potatoes were ice cold. The other time, I ordered Frito Pie and it was a bowl of beans with 6 fritos in it. Flavorless. We won't be back. read more

Driving home from Chaco Canyon & i wanted something for lunch that wasn't instant or cooked over a campfire. ;) Got place was open on a Sunday & had great ratings. Friendly, prompt service. At the server's recommendation as her VERY favorite, I tried the smothered breakfast Burrito. (I ordered the "half". .. it was huge! Glad i didn't order he whole!) I had bacon & "Christmas" chiles to try both. Both were good & moderately spicy. It took nearly the WHOLE Burrito, but I finally decided I like the green chiles slightly better. ;) Good prices. My wife and I each had the tamale plate. We selected the red chili sauce instead of green. The heat level was perfect. We ordered the chips and salsa and they both are freshly made and I really liked the salsa. The sopapilla's were very good with the honey. We are from Texas so we don't get them very often. Stopped in on our way back home to Mississippi. Ordered a grilled ham and cheese (with tortilla chips and fresh salsa), tamale plate, Ed's burger and a regular burger. We were thoroughly satisfied. Around Chaco Canyon there's not many dining choices so we tried the Cuban Cafe. Very much a local cafe with very friendly service. I had the Club Sandwich which was interesting - for example rather than shaved ham it was one very thick slice, almost like a ham steak. It was good. My wife had a grilled chicken salad which she liked - we also had the sweet potato fries which were also good. When I walked in with my children, everyone of the customers and staff, stopped talking and stared at me and my children. Right then my children and I should have left. I learned from another business in Cuba,NM. Yes another Store in Cuba. Word gets around in that Village. Part of it was because we were out of town. This is a little hidden gem. The Mexican food is authentic and delicious and has favor. The Sopapillas are the best I've ever had. Service is awesome. The tea is fresh and they have really good ice. If you're going through Cuba NM this is worth a stop. Food and service were great. A locally owned business, perhaps where the locals eat as there were many cars in the lot at 1:30pm Friday afternoon. It looks like a mom and pop place, very good food, and prepared in the kitchen (not bagged food from a restaurant supplier). We ordered Navajo taco and cheese enchiladas with green sauce. The sauce on the side of the Navajo taco comes warm. Complimentary sopapillas with your meal. Opened 6am-3pm (not sure how many days a week). read more

Had fantastic chili rellianos, sopapillas, served with honey. Delicious warm fresh tortilla chips, both corn and flour served gratis with the meal. We were driving from Alberquerque ro Cortez, CO and found this little cute restaurant conveniently located during the lunch time. There was no AT&T services, believe or not, so we could not check the Yelp for any hint before we ordered. Anyway, we were happy with the free nachos to start with, Thenn we ordered Mexcian Combination Plate and Roast beef. The Combination plate was very good actually for a price of $9. It had enough portions to feed up my stomach after a long drove all the way here, The Roast beef as side dish cost less than $3 and was a good deall too, The ambience isnjust the type that you expected from a remote, local restaurant. Cozy but not too artificial. Many truck models put on the shelf of the wall. Service very pleasant. Overall, a good place to dine in when you are on the road. read more

This place is perfect for an early-morning breakfast while en route to Chaco Canyon. We got there shortly after they opened at 6:00 a.m. and it proved to be a surprise highlight of our trip. The delicious full-plate pancakes we had at a dirt-cheap price were only the beginning of the experience, for the rooms are rimmed with great collectibles and photos. There is a massive collection of toy trucks (from the days when lots of truckers stopped there, we were told), a back room that is a shrine to John Wayne, and a front corner nook that is a shrine to the Dallas Cowboys. Service was prompt and friendly. Yes, the sign outside has peeling paint, and the fixtures are a throwback to the 1960s, but there also is no phony glitz and the place radiates an old-fashioned small-town welcome. It's hard to believe this gem hasn't yet been reviewed on Yelp, but perhaps that's because none of their regulars has heard of the internet, let alone Yelp. Again, part of the charm... Go there and see for yourself. If we ever get back to Chaco, we'll make it a destination. read more
